Hopefully Rafa saw the negatives in Andriy Voronin's performance last night; rather than claiming
he is a good player who can have an impact on this season. He proved last night he is nowhere near
good enough to play for Liverpool; it's time for the number 10 to move on. I honestly beleive he
would struggle [.
Jamie Redknapp is the latest former player to come out and criticise Rafa Benitez by claiming the
manager manipulates Liverpool fans. Redknapp should get himself to his local GP; as it seems he has
a case of verbal Diarrhoea. It's easy to kick a man while he's down, and to jump on the bandwagon
slagging Benitez [.
25th October, 2009. If that date doesn't mean anything to you, then you obviously don't follow
Liverpool as closely as I thought. That date of course marks Liverpool's 2-0 league victory over
Manchester United. Since that glorious afternoon, Liverpool have gone through a house of horrors,
falling or drawing in three consecutive league matches.
While Wednesday's heartbreaking draw against Lyon didn't seal Liverpool's place in the Europa
League it did put our chances on life support. Aside from needing to defeat Debrecen, Liverpool
will also need some help from Lyon to keep the potential miracle alive. But what if Lyon and
Fiorentina draw?
It's been quite a roller coaster ride for Brazilian Lucas Leiva since he made his was to Anfield
from Gremio for around £5m during the summer of 2007. Instead of getting an opportunity to learn
the subtle nuances of the Premier League, Leiva has been throw into the fire in his second season
with the [.
With the big match only days away, Liverpool supporters everywhere seem to be wondering the same
exact thing: what's the status of Steven Gerrard, Fernando Torres, and Glen Johnson for Sunday's
match against United? Whilst Benitez doesn't know for sure or at least he's not giving anything
away he did give all three [.
Where do you draw the line when it comes to Fernando Torres' fitness? That's the question I've been
asking myself ever since I wrote yesterday's piece on Steve Gerrard's absence from the squad for
Wednesday night's European tilt against Lyon. I read, re-read, and then read Rafa's comments
regarding the injury numerous times before coming [.
Liverpool drew 1-1 with Lyon last night, leaving any chance of getting through the group stages of
the Champion's League hanging by a thread' but what do you think went wrong last night? There are a
number of possible reasons: Rafa's tactics/his woeful decision to play Voronin/the lack of
introduction of Aquilani/bringing on Babel too late, [.
Following on from the other LFC picture quizzes here is a Simpsons one of the 2007-08 squad. I'm
finding these pretty addictive now, if you haven't seen the others they are available here (LFC

pRafael Benitez has been given a timely boost ahead of the Premier League amp; European run-in with
the news that Daniel Agger has resumed full training following a back injury. The Dane has missed
almost six weeks with the injury, but Benitez revealead he is in contention for a place in the
squad to face Aston Villa at Anfield on Sunday.
pSo finally it has been confirmed. Rafa Benitez will stay at Liverpool for another five years after
he agreed a contract extension that will keep him at Anfield until at least 2014, putting to an end
(some of) the speculation that has haunted the corridors of the club for the past eighteen months
or so.
Liverpool without Steven Gerrard. A bit like a roast dinner without gravy, only more noticeably
weak. Take the skipper out of Rafa Benitez's plans and watch them unravel. The press has been full
of it. Michael Essien apparently is the sole reason Chelsea were able to stifle Liverpool at
Anfield in midweek, his diligent midfield work squeezed the life out of the Reds' number eight and
set Guus Hiddink's side on the way to a resounding Champions League quarter final win.

This week saw the ridiculous suggestion that Rafa Benitez was trying to bring John Arne Riise back
to Anfield; but what most people forgot before they ran the story was the original source (who I am
not going to mention for obvious reasons), and the fact we already have 3 left backs at the club.
The [.
Monday night football returns to Anfield, as Liverpool and Birmingham City prepare to do battle in
the Premier League. There's a lot at stake in this match especially after both Aston Villa and
Tottenham won over the weekend. A win would pull the club within a point of the fourth spot in the
league.
And here you thought Arsenal's Robin van Persie was the only one getting this special treatment.
Ahead of Saturday's critical clash between Liverpool and Manchester City, Rafa Benitez is pulling
out all the stops to make sure his squad is healthy enough to field a squad without the name
Voronin inserted into the starting [.
Rafa Benitez has named his starting 11 to face Man City at Anfield today, with Glen Johnson not
making the bench. There is however; a rare start for Ryan Babel. The team in full is : Reina,
Skrtel, Carragher, Agger, Insua, Mascherano, Lucas, Kuyt, Gerrard, Babel, Ngog. Subs: Cavalieri,
Aquilani, El Zhar, Aurelio, Riera, Benayoun, Kyrgiakos.
Three wins in 15 matches. If you were to take a good long look at that sentence and make a guess at
the club those stats were associated with, I can almost guarantee you there wouldn't be a soul out
there that would pick Liverpool. Why, you ask? Well for one, Liverpool have built themselves up
[...]
Ok so it wasn't the prettiest, it wasn't the most free flowing, and in truth it didn't tell us
anything we didn't already know about Liverpool. But three points is three points, and with Chelsea
sneaking a win at Portsmouth, and Manchester United strong favourites to the same at Newcastle
tonight, it was important that Liverpool's players showed that they haven't yet given up on their
faltering title charge- even if most outside of the dressing room most certainly have.

p"All hail the return of the King" was the shout at this particular clash. Eric Cantona
was given a hero's reception as he returned to Old Trafford following his nine month ban for a
kung-fu attack on a mouthy spectator at Selhurst Park. And that was just from Richard Keys and Andy
Gray. The United fans really loved him, despite the fact that his avoidable absence had probably
played a huge part in their side finishing the 1994/95 season empty handed.

pYossi Benayoun came off the bench to score the winning goal in the game against Fulham, scoring in
the 92nd minute to give Liverpool all 3 points. Want to see the goal? Look no further.../p pa

Manchester United 1-4 Liverpool Highlights 14.03.2009 en Yahoo! Video In times like these when
there seems to be a black cloud hanging over our beloved club, I like to take a moment and watch
highlights of this match. Sure, it's probably not right to keep looking into the past every time
something in the present is [.
When Liverpool signed David N'Gog from PSG in 2008, most people were probably thinking he was going
to be 'another for the future' that would never really make the step up from the reserves; but it
seems this time Rafa has a real gem on his books for the bargain price of £1.5 million. We've seen

I know, I know; we don't have any transfer funds. That seems to be the general consensus around the
world when it comes to discussing Liverpool's prospects for signing a big name in the January
window. Even without the transfer funds, that hasn't stopped a number of websites from linking us
with some fantastic players [.
No Gerrard? No problem. That was Liverpool's mantra last weekend, when the club went toe-to-toe
with Manchester United in quite possibly the most important clash of the campaign. Even without
Gerrard, Liverpool managed to play their best match of the year, utilizing Fernando Torres' efforts
to secure the three points.
Liverpool will appeal the red cards shown to Jamie Carragher and Philip Degen; Rafael Benitez has
confirmed. Degen's challenge was more worthy of a yellow than a red; but it was still a bit
wreckless, whereas Carragher's could be rescinded if the FA watch the replays and decide if firstly
Zamora was offside; and the fact [.
It's a regular mash unit at Melwood prior to Wednesday's do-or-die Champions League tie against
Lyon. And whilst we'd all love to hear good news ahead such a match, it appears the reports coming
from the club keep getting worse. Isn't the typical of the way this season has gone so far? The
word [..
Liverpool can pull level with Aston Villa (and one point off Tottenham for fourth) on Monday
evening with a victory over Birmingham City. That's about the only certain thing we know right now.
As for the injury news on Torres, Gerrard, et al well you might as well just consider the starting
XI [...
Rafa Benitez has named his starting 11 to face Birmingham City at Anfield this evening, with David
N'Gog replacing Fernando Torres upfront. The team in full is full is: Reina, Johnson, Insua,
Skrtel, Agger, Mascherano, Lucas, Kuyt, Benayoun, Riera, Ngog. Subs: Cavalieri, Aquilani, Gerrard,
Kyrgiakos, Babel, Spreaing, Darby.
If ever there was a photo to sum up the way this season has gone for Liverpool, it would most
certainly be the one inserted in this article: a photo of David Ngog diving through the air with
the greatest of ease in a moment that I now consider to be comedy gold. I'm through [...]
The latest names to the physio table include the likes of Yossi Benayoun and Albert Riera, both of
which are dealing with knocks that could see them miss matches after the international break. With
the injuries mounting and the quality names on bench and in the starting XI dwindling, it would
appear that it's [.
Liverpool face Man City at Anfield today after the break for Internationals, needing nothing less
than a win. Rafa is still without Torres but after some treatment in Serbia; Riera, Benayoun,
Aurelio and Johnson are fit to play but who do you think should be in the starting line up when the
match kicks [.
Liverpool have announced their squad to face Debrecen in their make or break tie in the Champion's
League this week; with Rafa only naming two strikers in his squad Kuyt & N'Gog. There is no place
for Voronin even to warm the bench after his failure to impress in Lyon. The squad in full is:
Keepers: Pepe [.
Liverpool have been linked with Aston Villa striker Emile Heskey over the last few days; isn't this
a sign of how bad things are getting at Anfield? In pre-season, Rafa admitted David Silva was a
target, yet now we are scraping the barrel going for a player who was not deemed good enough during
his [.
