Dutch winger Babel has ruined just about every chance he has been given at Anfield over the past
two and a half years and the fact that he turned up at Melwood when no one else did could mean a

Manchester City prepare £100m summer move for Liverpool striker Torres
The People have sensationally claimed this morning that Manchester City are preparing a
sensational summer move for Liverpool striker Fernando Torres .
Think back to to 2006... it was a good year for Philippe Senderos. The young centre-half, whom
Arsene had signed way back in 2002 when he was a coveted prospect, started half of the club's
league matches and became a regular in central defense as Sol Campbell neared the end of the first
part of his Arsenal career.
Liverpool's out-of-favour Ryan Babel is reportedly ready to infuriate manager Rafael Benitez by
rejecting a transfer to Sunderland, which would have seen striker Kenwyne Jones move the other
way.
Babel's future at Anfield remains the subject of much speculation with Birmingham City believed to
have failed with a bid for the Dutchman while a range of other clubs including Marseille, Besiktas
and Fiorentina have also been linked with the 23-year-old.

Daniel Agger
The Danish centre-back is still only 25 and, with Jamie Carragher looking like he is slowly on the
way out, Agger is perfectly primed to make himself the defensive main man at Anfield for many
years. Now the Slovakian Martin Skrtel needs to get up to scratch alongside Agger, just as Agger
has done alongside Carragher and Sami Hyypia in the past.

Jose Mourinho is once again lining up a sensational bid for Liverpool's £40m-rated
talisman Steven Gerrard.

With my Spurs hat on: Damn. Damn and blast. This wasn't supposed to happen. I
don't know what was supposed to happen Rafa's head exploding, Stevie G the sniper in the
Kop? but I do know that this wasn't it. Very disappointing.

What craftsmanship!
Juventus want Rafa Benitez to replace current gaffer Ciro Ferrara (Ferrara
was a great foot soldier in his playing career but he has been found wanting as a head coach).
Rafa's agent, Manuel Quilon, refused to rule out a move to Italy for his client:
"Benitez to Juventus?
Reading have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the FA Cup tie with Liverpool.
Brian McDermott saw his side hammered 4-1 at fellow Championship strugglers Plymouth on Monday and
may choose to make changes.
Defender Matthew Mills is expected to be handed a recall as McDermott looks for a response to a
damaging defeat at Home Park which left the Royals just two points clear of the relegation zone.
There's no doubt about it, Steven Gerrard is a class player for club and country. His form is
consistently excellent and he has grabbed Liverpool by the scruff of the neck to win matches which
seemed lost on countless occasions. But perhaps, this is a season too far for the midfield maestro
amid concerns his recent fitness and form for Liverpool.
Bookies up and down the country are tipping former Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish or former
Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink to takeover from under pressure manager Rafa Benitez.
Liverpool crashed out of the FA Cup last night at Anfield at the hands of Championship side
Reading, which now sees the reds fighting for fourth place having been knocked out of the Champions
League and League Cup.

Steven Gerrard has spoken out to deny what he describes as "daft" rumours about
his relationship with gaffer Rafa Benitez.
Many different rumours have emerged since the Reds' FA Cup defeat by Reading, with the general
gist being that Stevie G fell out with his manager at half-time.
The away section at Villa Park on Tuesday evening was, not surprisingly, a noisy, joyful place
after Fernando Torres scored a goal of huge magnitude.
But while the hymn that is dedicated to him was sung long and loud, with plenty of bouncing, he
wasn't the only Liverpool player to be feted in verse by the travelling contingent – the identity
of the man in question, though, may come as a surprise.
Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is set to launch a surprise move for Aston Villa centre-forward
John Carew, according to a report from the Daily Star Sunday.
Ready cash is in short supply at Anfield, but the powerful Norwegian could be prised away from
Villa Park for £3 million. His current contract expires in 18 months' time, and there has not yet
been any indication that manager Martin O'Neill is to offer him a new one.
Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has shrugged aside any doubt over the immediate future of Ryan
Babel, who has been widely tipped for a winter transfer.
The 22-year-old attacker has found first-team opportunities hard to come by at Anfield, having
shown only glimpses of the raw talent that earned him an £11.
Rafa Benitez remains optimistic for the New Year despite seeing Liverpool FC held to an FA Cup draw
at Reading.
The Spaniard's side must replay their third round tie at Anfield on Wednesday week after a 1-1 draw
on Saturday at the Championship strugglers.
Wales international Simon Church gave Reading a 24th-minute lead only for Steven Gerrard to
equalise 12 minutes later.
Former Liverpool star Jan Molby said today that the club's on and off-the-pitch problems was
putting off top stars from joining Rafael Benitez's team.
Speaking to the Liverpool FC Supporters' Club New York through their MP Red Podcast, the
46-year-old - who played 281 times for the Reds between 1984 and 1996 - said that fans could no
longer expect the world's star players to want to play for Liverpool.
Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard claims £20 million Alberto Aquilani is just like departed
midfield lynchpin Xabi Alonso.
The Italy international has failed to hit the heights manager Rafa Benitez had hoped since his
arrival from Roma - but the opening months of the midfielder's tenure at Anfield has been blighted
by an ankle injury.
Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has rejected an approach from Greek outfit Olympiakos for Yossi
Benayoun, according to a report from The Daily Mail.
The Greek giants apparently offered the Reds £5 million for the Israeli winger, who would have
reportedly been paid £40,000 a week after tax had he moved.
Tevez is a stud, not a dud
That break seemed like it lasted forever. Boxing Day
fixtures, the New Year, then a bit of FA Cup action, some snow mixed in between, and now we're back
to the Premier League this weekend...

Andrea Dossena has finally secured his move from Liverpool to Napoli after a
disappointing 18-month spell on Merseyside.
does rafa wants to make sure that adam sandler can play against us?
It's a conspiracy! The voice of a thousand Spurs fans around the country shout at once at the
news that Liverpool are moving to postpone Sunday's game because there's a bit of snow around the
ground. Whilst it's not necessarily the fact that if we had beat them they'd pretty much be done
like a Christmas turkey; there's also the fact that the arrival of Maxi Rodriguez is imminent at
Anfield, but maybe not quite in time for the showdown.
Tom Hicks Jr. has apologised to a Liverpool supporter after he was accused of sending an abusive
email.
The Dallas based Liverpool director and son of co-owner Tom Hicks Senior was contacted by Stephen
Horner, a concerned fan, who emailed him an extract of a Liverpool Echo article published this
weekend.
Voronin sums up his Liverpool career in one facial expression
Liverpool fans will be celebrating the most successful period in their club's recent history
today after it has been announced that Andriy Voronin has signed for Russian
Premier League side Dinamo Moscow this morning.
COS Contributor Garry Bacon imagines an alternate reality where snow wasn't enough to call off
Sunday's big game. Similarities to Dirty Tackle's excellent "If It
Continued" series are coincidental and shouldn't prevent lovers of football and inane
humour from reading both!
Imagine that you, as a fan, decided to drop your club an e-mail asking about potential signings.
You wrote the e-mail in good faith and asked questions about the amount of money the manager had,
would it be bolstered by additional monies raised by selling deadwood and the long term
investment.
Rafa Benitez placed yet more pressure on his position at Anfield as his Liverpool side fell to
an embarrassing defeat at home to the hands of Championship side Reading.

Con sus respectivas distancias los cuatro son buenos equipos , o por lo menos populares en el caso

Liverpool have completed the signing of Atletico Madrid midfielder Maxi Rodriguez on a free
transfer, the club has confirmed on their official website.
The 29-year-old Argentine winger has signed a three-and-a-half year contract at the club after
completing a medical on Merseyside today, and the move will be confirmed subject to international
clearance.
Having crashed out of the Champions League in the group stages, the FA Cup in the third round,
and hanging out in 7th place on the table with their three best players out of action, Liverpool
are staring straight at catastrophe. Without the revenues available to buy their way out of this
mess, and with no more money coming in from the Champions League or ticket sales from the FA Cup
and a probable lack of Champions league football next year, all those unthinkable questions now
need to be asked.
Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has not attempted to hide his disappointment at his side's FA
Cup exit at the hands of Reading. The former England international apologized to fans and put the
blame solely on the shoulders of the Liverpool players, perhaps taking some heat off of manager
Rafa Benitez.
According to reports in the Turkish press, Rafa Benitez rejected the recent bid from Birmingham for
Ryan Babel as they are in negotiations with Turkish giants Galatasaray for a swap deal plus cash
for their captain and star man Arda Turan.
The player was widely expected to leave Galatasaray last summer with the club finishing a highly
disappointing 5th in the Turkish league, 10 points behind champions Besiktas.

Rumoursville is a little quiet this morning, here's the round up...
Kenwyne just laughed off the rumours
Rumour No. 1: Liverpool have had a loan approach for Kenwyne
Jones rebuffed this morning as Sunderland have again insisted that the striker is not for
sale.
With Liverpool languishing in lowly seventh, things are certainly looking gloomy over at
Anfield. Not a day goes by without fresh reports surfacing from the press about the imminent sale
of Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard. Who can blame them? Liverpool is ripe for the picking at the
moment with the talk of a new manager, nonexistent transfer funds, mounting debt, and a divided
board room all casting the club in a highly precarious light.

Like all Liverpool fans, I have been bitterly disappointed by this season.
After last weekend's drama at the Britannia Stadium where a battling display by the Reds resulted
in a draw against Stoke, we face a crunch match at Anfield against high-flying Tottenham
Hotspur.
Tonight's match against Harry Redknapp's Spurs represents a difficult match against a team
currently above us in fourth in the League.
