How not to win over the Liverpool faithful The chances of Charles Itandje ever amounting to more at
Anfield than being Liverpool's reserve keeper always seemed pretty slim, but they just got a whole
lot slimmer. As this GIF shows, television cameras spotted the 26-year-old larking around and
generally being disrespectful during Wednesday's memorial service marking [.
Whilst Alberto practices what it will be like to run out at Anfield, when he is finally fit and
able to do so, he is kept company by this lovely young lady who is apparently an actress.

Monday brings us to the first official day of the summer transfer window! Sure, we've been
getting transfer rumours ad nauseam for the last couple of weeks, but the FA Cup final on Saturday
provided us with the last glimpse of Premier League football for the next couple of months. The
opening day of hunting season for Liverpool has them hot on the trail for a number of players, and
denying the rumours that a certain star is leaving.
Croatian winger Daniel Pranjic is the latest player to be linked with a summer move to Anfield, but
is he good enough to enhance the side and help take the club to the next level?
Pranjic's agent revealed Liverpool's purported interest earlier this week:
"I can confirm that several English and Spanish clubs are looking at Pranjic.
Xabi gone, time to spend spend spend!
Liverpool will use £17 million of the £30m they have raised from the sale of Xabi
Alonso to Real Madrid to sign Alberto Aquilani, the Roma midfielder. Officials at Anfield also plan
to meet with Valencia this week to discuss a deal for David Silva, while a second offer for Sylvain
Distin also remains a possibility.
With Rafa's 5th season at Anfield at a close, the summer ahead looks to be a crucial one in the
eyes of many of our fans. So many times I've seen ‘Rafa's Revolution' splattered across the pages
of the press, but this summer needs to be about evolution over revolution.
The departure of Sami Hyypia is more than just a farewell to a legend; he is the last signing of
the Houllier era to leave the club.
The matches to watch after you realize that life back in Brazil is treating Adriano pretty
friggin good. (Her name is Cassia Menega and she's a 22-year-old university student.)
Saturday
Chelsea v Blackburn at Stamford Bridge Carlo Ancelotti may not be in the dugout for
this one, as he returned to Italy this week to tend to his ill 86-year-old father.
The tabloids claim that Joey Barton had a huge bust-up with Alan Shearer after Newcastle's 3-0
defeat at Anfield on Sunday. Barton was sent off for a mindless tackle (not the first time I've
started a sentence in that way) on Xabi Alonso, prompting Shearer to break out the hairdryer after
the match. Barton wasn't having any of it though.
I know I just talked about Liverpool yesterday, but now I'm not done.
Steven Gerrard has been quoted (recently) as saying that Xabi Alonso is the "difference in us
from last year." {If you are not aware Xabi Alonso is an excellent midfielder who jumped ship and
went to to [you guessed it] Real Madrid.

After trying his best to engineer a move away from Anfield in the summer, rumours are flying again
that Javier Mascherano wants to leave Liverpool. So where's the problem? Why can't Liverpool just
let him leave?! There seems to be this idea that Mascherano is somehow integral to Liverpool's
success, but I disagree.
Almost everything is going wrong for Liverpool. I say 'almost', because last week they beat
Manchester United at Anfield, and the gloom was temporarily lifted. "Liverpool have turned a
corner... This will kick-start their season... etc" in the end, it hasn't. Liverpool's continued
struggles share similarities with those of the aforementioned United in the 2004-05 season, where,
after an awful start to the season, a victory against Big Rivals (in that case, Arsenal) threatened
to send the Old Trafford club on a march back to glory.
The European soccer leagues are still a few months from the start of the 2009/10 season but the
transfer market continues to be busy with rumors of players for sale. Here's the latest news on
some of the biggest starts including Samuel Eto'o and Frank Ribery.
The Latest on Xabi Alonso - Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso insists he would
have 'no regrets' about staying at Anfield, but has refused to rule out a big-money move to Real
Madrid.
Liverpool are now resigns to loosing their midfield maestro and a right-back to Real Madrid
after the Reds announced the captures of Glen Johnson from Portsmouth.
Real Madrid are prepared to pay Liverpool £30million for Xabi Alonso and £8million on Alvaro
Arbeloa. Liverpool are reluctant to sell his players to Premier League rivals, Chelsea and
Manchester City, who are also interested in signing the Spanish defensive midfielder.
Liverpool's depressing defeat against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge could have (and should have) been
avoided, but as is so often the case, Rafa Benitez's decisions conspired to adversely affect
Liverpool yet again.
The most galling thing about the defeat is that the game was definitely winnable.
The Aurelio Household
It's all fun and games until somebody gets hurt. Liverpool first choice left back Fabio Aurelio is
set to miss up to six months of action after injuring himself playing with his children in the
backyard. Aurelio injured his knee in a freak accident fooling around in the garden with his kids.
England's largest long distance train operator kicks off a another marketing offensive in a bid to
win a bigger market share to its already burgeoning business. Catch Virgin's latest mocking print
ad. A tongue-in-cheek jibe at Robbie Keane's Liverpool nightmare. The Spurs striker played only a
bit-part role at Anfield before rejoining his former club.
The young Spaniard Suso will join up with his fellow countrymen at Anfield rather than join the
superstars at the Bernabeu. Liverpool have stolen a march on Spanish giants Real Madrid and
Barcelona and secured the services of highly-rated Cadiz teenager Jesus Fernandez Saez, nicknamed
Suso, according to Setanta Sports.
Often enough, asking nicely is the key to getting something that you want, and it looks like
that might be the case with soon-to-be former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso,
who could be on a flight to Madrid sometime in the next few days to complete his dream move to Real
Madrid.
In the wake of the recent new sponsorship deal with London-based bank Standard Chartered, new
Liverpool-Kop writer Joe Rimmer believes it's about time somebody praised the job that 'managing
director' Christian Purslow has done since he arrived at Liverpool in June 2009.

Criticise the Americans all you want, but the one thing they seem to have done well since they
arrived from across the pond is to increase the commercial value of the club.
When Rafa Benitez splashed out £17 million on Roma sensation Alberto
Aquilani, you could fully understand Liverpool supporters' optimism that their
Champions League winning coach had taken their team another giant step closer to winning
their first league title in nearly twenty years.
Much maligned midfielder Lucas Leiva is apparently on his way out of Anfield, and it seems that
most Liverpool fans would be happy with that...but not Chris Severs, who argues that losing the
Brazilian could be a blow for Liverpool.
By pulling statistics from the same source as a Daily Mail writer I can tell you that 95% of
Liverpool fans either do not support Lucas or at best will wish him well in leaving Liverpool this
summer.
We may be nearing a deal worth taking!
Alonso's heart is set on Madrid and the Spanish giants are keen to offer players to try
to break the impasse in negotiations.
Madrid have struggled to offload players and are prepared to offer Liverpool one of Alvaro Negredo,
Rafael van der Vaart or Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, according to reports in Spain.
Manchester United's win over Wigan means that they are now just one point away from regaining their
Premier League crown, and given that they next face an Arsenal side with their minds already on a
beach somewhere, it's a fair assumption to think that they'll get it. With this in mind, Mark Jones
takes a look at the reasons why Liverpool are not ending the season as Premiership champions.
Saturday's performance at Upton Park, where Fernando scored two goals giving Liverpool another 3
points, was just another demonstration of how well the Spanish guy's adapted himself to the Premier
League. His first goal against West Ham United was wonderful – it reminded me of his first goal
in England, in Anfield against Chelsea, more than [.
The all new rumour reporting article system is in full effect! The Rumour Javi Martinez has issued
a "come-and-get-me" plea to Liverpool because he is eager to be part of their illustrious history.
The Athletic Bilbao midfielder has been touted as a possible replacement should Xabi Alonso leave
Anfield.
It's the final weeks of the Premiership with Liverpool looking to catch Manchester United, and
the last spot for the Europa league still up in the air. Here's a preview of the top games in the
Premiership this weekend.
Liverpool at West Ham United - Liverpool have been in good form in the Premier
league while West Ham has struggled lately.
Liverpool are facing a legal backlash after dismissing an incredible 16 backroom staff as part of
the increasingly bloody Anfield Rafalution.
The club sacked 10 Academy staff last week and another six long-serving employees left in the last
few days.
Distressed former employees with well over 150 years service between them argue they've been given
no valid reason for the termination of contracts and are unhappy with the club's first offers for
pay-off packages.
Liverpool see off defending champions Manchester United 2-0 in Anfield to snap a 4 matches losing
streak. The men from Anfield have not lost four successive games since 1987. Fernando Torres was on
hand to put away an astute pass by Yossi Benayoun on the 65th minute. Substitute David Ngog sealed
the crucial 2-0 victory for under-pressure Benitez with an injury time goal.
It's as bad, if not worse, than originally thought. Here's the most up-to-date injury news:
Gallas out for season (knee)
Almunia out 3 weeks (ankle)
Clichy out 2 weeks (back)
van Persie possibly fit for Saturday (groin)
Eduardo possibly fit for Saturday (groin)
Rosicky "not close to coming back" (hamstring)
That is ummm.
Pepe Reina has revealed that he would like to rejoin Barcelona if the chance arose but admits that
the Catalan club are not actively looking to sign a goalkeeper at the moment.
The 26-year-old custodian rose through the ranks at Camp Nou before leaving to join Villarreal in
2002 after making just 30 appearances for the Blaugrana.
According to a report in the British tabloid The Daily Mirror, Liverpool are lining-up Athletic
Bilbao's Javi Martinez as a replacement for Xabi Alonso.
Reds manager Rafael Benitez has repeatedly denied that Alonso will be sold this summer, but the
midfielder has continually been linked with an exit from Anfield in the forthcoming transfer
window.
Rafa continues to push on with Spanish pursuit. The Rumour Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has launched
his bid to sign Valencia forward David Silva - but could face a battle to keep Javier Mascherano.
Spain's Euro 2008 winner Silva tops the Anfield wanted list and Valencia may have to sell cheaply
because of .
Why am I not surprised!
Sneaky f**ker!
Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola has told his bosses that he still wants Javier Mascherano
at the heart of his midfield by the start of the season.
The European champions had all but conceded that a deal for the Liverpool midfielder was
impossible following Xabi Alonso's defection from Anfield to Real Madrid for £30million.
Rafa is known to be an admirer
LIVERPOOL have made a cheeky enquiry about Aston Villa's young star James Milner.
Anfield boss Rafa Benitez is a big admirer of the emerging England winger but has received little
in the way of encouragement.
Milner cost Villa £12million from Newcastle last August and has three years left on his
contract.
Great news.

George Gillett will fly to the Middle East next week for negotiations over selling his

The Reds co-owner is due to arrive in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday and, according to the Daily Mirror,

Rafa Benitez. Even if you follow the Premier League with the most passing of interests, chances are
you have an opinion on the goatee-d Spanish coach of Liverpool, who has seemingly been at the hot
seat at Anfield since before the world knew who Hannah Montana was. Just the other night I was
chatting with a friend over XBox Live during a game of "FIFA 10" (shameless plug, review/thoughts

Jamie Carragher: Liverpool should have signed Nicolas Anelka
The Chelsea striker enjoyed a productive loan spell at Anfield under Gerard Houllier in 2001-02,
but chose not to sign the Frenchman permanently, instead signing El Hadji Diouf was signed for £12
million.
After trying his best to engineer a move away from Anfield in the summer, rumours are flying again
that Javier Mascherano is on the verge of leaving Liverpool. So where's the problem? Why can't
Liverpool just let him leave? There seems to be this idea that Mascherano is somehow irreplaceable
and integral to Liverpool's success, but in my view, Liverpool could cope perfectly well without
him.
Alan Green, 5 Live's football commentator, has a squat, piggy face. He looks a bit like an
Ugnaught. In other words, he has the perfect face for radio.
I like Green, albeit less than I used to – these days he's too quick to anger, but at least he
never sits on the fence; he always has an opinion, and that's what makes a good commentator.
