Salomon Kalou is just 25 years old. He's won the league, the FA Cup (three times) and has played
alongside the likes of Lampard and Drogba for years but has never really "broken through" as a star
at Stamford Bridge. ... Continue reading →
The more I am thinking of tomorrow's game, the more I am thinking about where the difference
could be, someone to create something out of nothing and someone to step up for Chelsea to be the
difference. I believe the with the news on Frank Lampard yesterday being out, I am not sure
if Ramires will play next to Mikel and Essien, and I think it is too much of a big game for
McEachran in Ancelotti's eyes, so I believe Kalou will get the nod tomorrow to start.
In my match preview ahead of the game on Saturday I stated that I would bite your hand off for
three points and for any kind of win bearing in mind that in recent times Everton have proven to be
our bogey side. We didn't win, Everton continued their decent record against us and the game left
us fans with so many questions about our side and the way we played.
Anelka uses interpretive dance to illustrate the club's recent plight.
Just watched the match again. Catharsis, no. In fact, I believe my dissatisfaction was
heightened during the revisit. That second half, well, it's not just poor, it's downright shameful.
So much so that the display is worthy of an inquisition.
Tonight Chelsea take to the pitch in what would have been a nothing game at the Velodrome after
already winning the group and Marseille qualifying in second place. The events of the last few
weeks have changed the meaning of this game in a way none of us would have expected. Chelsea need a
good performance and a win tonight to rekindle the fire in our bellies and to get back to winnings
ways ahead of the most important part of our season.
After writing my match preview earlier, we have then found out the news that Frank Lampard
will not feature in the game on Sunday as Carlo feels he needs to give him match practice.
With Spurs being such a big big game for us right now we need to put out our strongest side with
the players we have available.
It's a good thing for the French footballers that were punished for their unruly actions this
summer in the World Cup that they didn't have to answer to UEFA president Michel Platini. The
former Les Bleus star thinks that the French national team players deserved lifetime suspensions
for their insubordinate behavior under Raymond Domenech's reign.
Come on Chelsea! Play for the shirt, play for pride and for each other. If there is a time to have
a back's to the wall mentality it's now. People expect us to fail, are looking for us to slip up
again and see our season fall apart even more.
It's time to step up, to represent our Chelsea, to get together, fight together and win together.
In an end-to-end thriller Spurs and Chelsea drew 1-1 at White Hart Lane as a Didier Drogba
missed penalty in stoppage-time meant that the Champions Premier League winless run is now up to
five matches.
Heurelho Gomes, who conceded the penalty and gifted Chelsea a goal with a complete howler
redeemed himself by saving Drogba's penalty kick.

Heart. Spirit.
The Rundown
11 strong.
• Oh Chelsea, where have you been all my life? It seems like an eternity since we've seen such
commitment, such passion, such pride in wearing that blue shirt. It's comforting to know these boys
aren't ready to pack it in quite yet.
I have to say I wasn't surprised when I heard the news from Nico's brother Claude Anelka featured
in this article. His brother is quoted as saying:
"Nicolas told me he is interested in playing in the United States, We could see him
crossing the Atlantic, and I'm serious when I say this.
Chelsea's season might well ride on what owner Roman Abramovich decides to do in January. Will
he provide the funds for Chelsea to go out and buy two or three new players, or will be continue
his philosophy of making Chelsea self-sufficient?
There is no doubt that Chelsea need some new, experienced players.
