As everybody who follows Paddytheflea regularly knows I am a sucker for stats. I believe stats can
say something about the game of football more objective than the statements of pundits and fans
opinions. Partly because stats are free from sentiments and partly because stats are systematic in
their nature and looks over long periods [.
Premier League Team News - Barclays Premier League - ESPN Soccernet The news from Arsenal (or at
least it is news to me) is that Denilson is out this week with an abdominal injury. This
definitely leaves me wondering about who will nominally play in the holding spot this weekend for
Arsenal. Denilson wasn't a great choice as a replacement for Song but he IS a better choice than
anyone else on

Who will reach the unlikely milestone of thirty goals this season? Last years Golden Boot
Winner, Anelka, could not reach the lucky number, but this year offers many new and old candidates
that just might be the lucky winner this year. Now that the season is half way over lets take a
look at the best candidates for Premier League Golden Boot Award of 2010:
Wayne Rooney
Rooney has 13 goals (as of last Monday the 28th) this season and is right in the mix only
trailing the league leaders by a few.
I'll begin with this cracking quote from Antipodean Gooner as he, like us, finds out that Vieira
will soon be the 5th ex-Gooner at Manchester City.
If the Abu Dhabi sheikhs wanted our players that badly, they should've saved their money and
just bought the club
The signing of Vieira will not only sadden a few Arsenal hearts but will also infuriate the red
half of Manchester.
Carlo Ancelotti watched on as his Chelsea side took apart Sunderland at Stamford Bridge. The
Blues looked imperious as they raced into a four nil half time lead. They were a constant threat to
the Black Cats goal and the west London side could have scored ten but for some superb saves from
Marton Fulop.
Lampard.
With the African players away on national duty oh! How? ooh! How? Would Chelsea manage to stay
adrift? I mean look at that line up it "only" starts – Cech, Ivanovic, A Cole, Carvalho, Terry,
Belletti, Lampard, J Cole, Ballack, Malouda, Anelka. In way I guess it explains how they managed to
score "only" 7 eh?
Amidst all the talk of football and finance over the past week or so, it's been interesting to
hear the outrage of fans and pundits alike at the state and prognosis of football clubs in
England.
One man who could be forgiven for a wry smile and a shrug of the shoulders is Arsene Wenger a
manager who has run the club he works for like a burgeoning enterprise.
