As it always does by this stage in the season, the Premier League table is beginning to take on
a not unfamiliar appearance. True, perhaps the advent of Manchester City as the current league
leaders is a marked change from recent years, but with their many millions it was really only a
matter of time before they sauntered to the top of the table.

Now that deadline day's out the way, it's time to take a look at who's feeling smugly
self-satisfied about the whole affair and who spent the small hours of last night crying into their
pillow at the injustice of it all. Here, in no particular order, are the four biggest winners and
losers to emerge from yesterday's dealings.
