Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is reportedly set for a summer clear-out, with 11 players expected
to leave Anfield.
The News of the World claims that the Spaniard is ready to sell a whole host of players including
Ryan Babel, Albert Riera and Xabi Alonso, in order to raise funds.
The tabloid claims that Benitez needs the finances in order to finally sign Gareth Barry from Aston
Villa and to compete with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United in the transfer market.
So far this summer, much has been made of Alonso's will he/won't he transfer to Real Madrid.
It's rather like Dawson's Creek but for people who have already lost their virginity and moved past
alcopops. However, I think what is just as important but is being somewhat overlooked is
Liverpool's striking options.
Hopefully Rafa saw the negatives in Andriy Voronin's performance last night; rather than claiming
he is a good player who can have an impact on this season. He proved last night he is nowhere near
good enough to play for Liverpool; it's time for the number 10 to move on. I honestly beleive he
would struggle [.

So now we finally know what Andriy Voronin needs that ponytail for and what happens with it, once
he takes the hair tie off m/. With that mystery solved we can now start deciphering what his
"East European Trance DJ from 1997" outfits are all about.
Sebastian Leto is set for Anfield departure after reports in the Greek media has mentioned

According to the reports, the Greek club has bid in the region of £3million for the Argentinian
midfielder.
Leto has spent last season on loan at Olympiakos, after problems securing a work permit to play
in Britain and made 22 appearances for them.

With all the continuous speculation about who we may buy and who we may sell I thought it a good
time to hand the subject over to you my fellow fans.
Isn't it supposed to be "Peace Up, A-town Down?" This looks more like "Peace Up, The Ponytail
Groomer is Thataway." Not quite the same G-factor, but no matter.
Liverpool's Andriy Voronin and family are in Florida for their holiday break they've been there
for a week. Curious, as we're quite sure Liverpool had a game yesterday.
Apparently Rafa doesn't have much in the way of cash, if only we could offload these guys!
If reports that I have been reading are accurate then we are in a bit of a financial pickle and
in order to bring in new players we need to offload those who really don't belong, such as these
four.
Andriy Voronin Value £4-6m
Not had a bad pre-season but then he has performed well in friendlies before and is by no means
likely to get a starting spot anytime soon.
Unless you were a fan of Real Madrid, Manchester City or a couple of other clubs dotted across the
continent, this summer's transfer window was a major anti-climax, nowhere more so than at Liverpool
FC.
Glen Johnson's arrival was a welcome improvement to the squad, but this was undoubtedly offset by
the departure of Xabi Alonso.
Misfiring striker Andriy Voronin has told of his determination to help Liverpool get this season
back on track. Does he have anything to offer or is he a lost cause?
The Ukraine striker has yet to find the back of the net in eight games this season, and to be fair,
hasn't even looked remotely like scoring.
According to Thomas Zocher at Sky Sports, Hertha Berlin will not permanently
sign Liverpool striker Andriy Voronin. Voronin told Die
Welt,
"(The match against Karlsruhe on Saturday) was my last match as a Hertha Berlin player
.

According to David Maddock at the Daily Mirror, Liverpool boss Rafa
Benitez admitted that he might have to sell to raise funds to buy certain players this
summer. He was quoted as saying,
"I have an idea of who we want, but maybe we need to sell someone to increase what I already
have to spend .
Rafa Benitez must feel like he's found a peseta but lost a pound.
No sooner was he celebrating the arrival of Glen Johnson, while admitting he may have paid just a
tad over the odds for him because he was English, than he received the devastating news that Andriy
Voronin, the ‘Bovine Ponytail', plans to return to Anfield from his loan spell at Hair Fair
Berlin and "conquer the Premiership".
Liverpool drew with St. Gallen today 0-0 in a relatively calm and eventless affair. Glen Johnson
was the star of the show, if you ask me, on his debut, creating some of our best chances in the
match. Yossi Benayoun, Andriy Voronin, Ryan Babel, and Steven Gerrard also all looked lively, with
some solid performances also given forth by Jay Spearing, Lucas, David Ngog, Dirk Kuyt, Martin
Kelly, and Martin Skrtel.
Liverpool lost central defender Martin Skrtel to a hamstring injury in today's 1–1 draw with
Thailand in a pre-season friendly. The Slovak international came on as a half-time substitute but
lasted only 10 minutes on a rain-soaked afternoon before grabbing the top of his right hamstring
and walking gingerly off the field.

5-star Liverpool triumph in Singapore
Liverpool have secured their first pre-season victory with a comfortable 5-0 drubbing of
Singapore.
"Sir Alex Ferguson would have us believe he is quite happy with his squad going into their
defence of their Premier League crown," said Stan YSB Collymore. "Yet I still think United
look a lot weaker than last term following the loss of Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez. Federico
Macheda and Danny Welbeck, as I said recently, are a pair of strikers for the future.
The general manager of Hertha Berlin, Michael Preetz, has indicated that the Bundesliga club have
no option but to forget about chasing striker Andriy Voronin because Liverpool have no intention of
letting the player leave.
"We have been talking to Liverpool and Rafael Benitez, but we have to stay realistic," Preetz told
Spox.
Liverpool misfit Andriy Voronin played a big part in Ukraine's easy win over minnows Andorra by
laying on a couple of assists. Andriy Shevchenko was also on the score sheet.

Everyone's doing a brand new dance now. C'mon baby, do the Kyrgiakos.
It must have been yet another very frustrating night for Liverpool supporters Wednesday night
after the Reds failed to win against Lyon in a 1-1 draw. The dreams of advancing in the Champions
League are quickly disappearing.
Reds undone by last gasp equalizer.

Now its not all doom and gloom and many will have you believe that we are sinking further into
the abyss but that would be a harsh assessment of the tough 90 minute assignment that so nearly
bore fruit.
Eintracht Frankfurt is plotting a swoop for Liverpool striker Andriy Voronin during the January
transfer window.
The mid-table Bundesliga outfit has yet to make an official approach but is keen on securing the
services of the Ukrainian international.
Voronin has struggled to adapt to the demands of the Premier League since he arrived at Anfield on
a free transfer from Bayer Leverkusen in 2007.

Greek side Panathinaikos are set to swoop for Liverpool striker Andriy Voronin in the
January transfer window, according to reports.
Arminia Bielefeld gained a point and a little breathing room in their fight to stay up this year.
Things didn't start brightly when their defenders fell asleep and allowed Andriy Voronin to ghost
onto a ball delivered by keeper Jaroslav Drobny and slot home a 13′ lead. They leveled in the

On-loan Liverpool striker Andriy Voronin has admitted that he expects to return to the Premier
League club at the end of the season.
Voronin - currently enjoying a season-long spell in Germany with Hertha Berlin - had been expected
to make a permanent switch to the Bundesliga title chasers at the end of the campaign.

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez still faces a fight to keep hold of midfielder Xabi Alonso, with
Real Madrid apparently reluctant to take no for an answer.
The Reds boss has insisted he does not want to sell the Spain international - but with reports of a
potential £30m offer looming, he may have to reconsider.
Rafa Benitez's summer transfer plans could be frustrated by players keen to kickstart their stalled
Anfield careers.
The Reds boss was hoping to generate funds in the close season by offloading fringe players like
Andriy Voronin and Andrea Dossena.
But after yesterday's announcement by Voronin that he intends to return to "conquer the Premier
League, Dossena's agent has now claimed his client is happy to stay and fight for his place.
Liverpool's title plans have been thrown into disarray by a standoff between Javier Mascherano and
manager Rafa Benitez.
The pair fell out at the end of last season after Benitez rotated the team, leaving Mascherano out
of some crucial matches.
The 25-yearold captain of Argentina is now pressing for a move to La Liga,
declaring he is ‘flattered' by reported interest from Barcelona.
After two months of listening to rubbish about Xabi Alonso leaving to Real Madrid, Michael Owen
being a Judas and joining Manchester United, and hopefully awaiting good news on the transfer
front, Liverpool finally head into their pre-season in Switzerland. We start with a match against
St. Gallen on Wednesday, but with a very weakened team.
Roma have laid eyes on Liverpool striker Andriy Voronin as head coach Luciano Spalletti steps up
his striker search.
According to Il Corriere Dello Sport, Voronin, who has returned to Anfield following his loan spell
at Hertha Berlin, is admired by Spalletti.
The Italian coach recently claimed he wanted "a striker who can play on the wings with speed".
