"I'm handy."
The Meerkat played through the pain barrier at Anfield on Sunday, having barely trained all week
because of a foot injury. He scored the winning goal with a quite brilliant finish, prompting
Arsene Wenger to praise the Russian's rock-like hardness:
Wenger said: "I've not met many with his pain threshold.
Criticise Arsene Wenger and see what you get? Tactical innovation.
Arsene Wenger has managed this club since 1996. And in his 500th match he finally sent a team out
without a single striker. The formation was 4-6-0. Yet it worked. In a rare bit of half-decent MOTD
analysis, they pointed out how Arshavin had not tried to take on the two big Stoke centre-halves
but instead played on the half-turn - rather than trying to hold the ball up, he played deeper and
then drove forward.
"She moves in mysterious waaaaays!!"
"Yikes! Mr Bono, don't creep up like that. You almost give me heart attack."
The Drog = cool. Deuce Dempsey = super cool. The Meerkat = scared by Bono's uncanny ability to
weasel his way into any photo opportunity.
It seems that Arsenal were harder hit by injuries from the 2-0 win over Stoke last weekend than was
first thought. We all knew that Thomas Rosicky was a definite non-starter with his groin injury
which will keep him out for three to fourr weeks, but this is the first we"ve been told about the
other [.

Andrey Arshavin struck the winner at Anfield last night as Liverpool lost to Arsenal 1-2 in a
Premier League encounter. This win was a big step forward for the Gunners as they managed to have a

Arsenal ace Andrey Arshavin insists their defeat to Chelsea has not ended their title hopes.
A crushing 3-0 home defeat by Chelsea on Sunday left the Gunners 11 points behind the Blues, albeit
with a game in hand.
But Arshavin insists: "We haven't stopped fighting for the championship.

Andrey Arshavin's gal wants a £5 million wedding? Hell to the yeah.

Arsenal have hit a poor run of form in recent weeks, dropping points in games against West Ham,
Chelsea, Sunderland and then losing to Manchester City 3-0 in the Carling Cup. The truth is you
would have expected Arsenal to come out on top in at least two of those games and for Arsene
Wenger's side to concede three each against Man City and Chelsea without reply is as much worrying
as it was surprising.
Andrey Arshavin was the fulcrum to Arsenal's attacks as his movement helped defeat Stoke
City.

You'll never win anything with midgets was the common maxim before the game, started no less
than by the impish Andrey Arshavin.
A bad week for Arsene Wenger ended on a high on Saturday, as Arsenal earned a 2-0 Premier League
win over Stoke City. Andrey Arshavin's first-half goal and a late second from Aaron Ramsey proved
enough to end the north Londoners' run of three straight defeats and brought some belated cheer to
Wenger.
The Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has conceded that this season's Premier League title is out
of reach for his side.
"We are really far out from the Premier League, so we now change our targets," Torres said. "We
have to think the Europa League and FA Cup are the two competitions we can win this season and
obviously trying to stay in the top four.

Arsha Silences The Kop: Part II
Two weeks ago Arsenal were 11 points behind Chelsea, 6 behind United, and written off by many
pundits and fans who had lost patience. In these two weeks the leaders have lost the moneybags
derby and drawn at home to Everton. Villa have taken three points at Old Trafford.
Arsenal showed great mental strength to come back against Liverpool in the second half and where
inspired by a bolt from the blue from Andrey Arshavin.

To many, he comes across like Roger Moore in 'The Saint' yet beneath the taciturn and urbane
exterior is a man who has worked for years on his self-discipline in order to keep his fiery temper
in check.
Liverpool head into their midweek Premier League clash against Wigan Athletic hoping to bounce back
from a disappointing weekend - and not for the first time this season.
Rafael Benitez had touted Sunday's date with Arsenal as a chance for his side to start the season
anew, and come half-time they certainly looked a team reborn.
Burnley's pressure game and movement down the channels helped earn the home side a draw against
the Gunners. span>

It's like the saying in tennis goes; "you've never actually broken serve unless you win the next
game" and for Arsenal, proclaiming they were back in the title race was never fully going to be
realised unless they were to follow up the defeat to Liverpool by winning at Burnley.
Mexico striker Carlos Vela made a small appearance for Arsenal this afternoon as the Gunners
eased past Hull City by three goals to nil.
Coming in the 81st minute to replace Andrey Arshavin, Carlos produced a number of good runs
making himself available for his team mates up front and also produced a cheeky backheel to set-up
Mikael Silvestre in a move ended with Aaron Ramsey failing to hit the target.
While I haven't blogged, we've beaten Liverpool 2-1, drawn 1-1 with Burnley and then beat Hull 3-0
yesterday afternoon.
Lets be honest: Liverpool away is always a difficult game. Pre-match, the papers were full of how
Liverpool had only lost 1 out of 37 home games in the League; post-match, having beaten them, the
media were full of how Liverpool were on a downward slope.

Arsenal are thought to be planning to give boss Arsene Wenger a £30million transfer
kitty to turn the Emirates club from also-rans into real title contenders.
