presentation since he moved to the channel from Sky in 2006. This weekend was Paul and Pat Dolan's
last broadcast to the United States, Setanta having lost the U.S. rights to the Premier League.

Shaka Hislop currently works as an analyst for ESPN, but before that he was a goalkeeper for
Newcastle United, West Ham United, Reading, and Portsmouth. On this edition of the EPL Talk
podcast, the Trinidand and Tobago international who represented that country at the 2006 World Cup
joins The Gaffer during ESPN's Super Bowl at Sea cruise.
Six Treble-winning heroes will grace Old Trafford on Saturday 1 May 2010, to play in a charity
match for Sport Relief and MU Foundation. Named UNITED RELIEF Live, this match will feature Andrew
Cole, Denis Irwin, Ronny Johnsen, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Jaap Stam and Dwight Yorke. These players
along with others will form Manchester United XI, coached by fellow Reds legend and ex-Reading boss
Steve
The list of Newcastle United forwards that have donned that famous No. 9 shirt down the years is
a pretty formidable one.
The exploits of club legends such as Jackie Milburn, Malcolm 'Supermac' Macdonald, Andrew Cole,
Les Ferdinand and Alan Shearer have all served to weight that particular squad number with such
significance that it becomes increasingly obvious as to why so many eyebrows were knowingly arched
when a precocious, often volatile, 21-year-old in the lengthy shape of Andy Carroll was entrusted
with the continuation of the mantle.
Strike partners have always been an important part of the English game and this week we
celebrate ten of the best duos to grace the Premiership...
10. Alan Shearer and Les Ferdinand (Newcastle) – Overall 28/ 21
97/98 28 and 21 = 49 goals
(In all competitions- applies to all)
Unfortunately, Shearer and Ferdinand only played with each other for one season but in that
short amount of time they clicked.
Andrew Cole, who spent eight seasons at United, has today revealed who he hopes to win the
Manchester derby.
He spent a season at City and was their top scorer. He signed a new contract with them but then
left the club for Portsmouth on transfer deadline day.
Cole still has a season ticket with United and is hoping we right the wrongs of the unjust 2-1
defeat last week.
Andrew Cole has played down the row between Gary Neville and Carlos Tevez, claiming our captain
loves getting involves in things like this.
"It's all handbags," said Cole. "Nev just loves that kind of stuff. He will wind up
his own players, and people who don't know Nev get the wrong idea.
If you've ever had a question you've always wanted to ask Andrew Cole, Dwight Yorke or Shaka
Hislop, here's your opportunity.
Later this week, I'll be sitting down separately with each of the three football legends for
one-on-one interviews to discuss their careers, their work in broadcasting and some of the
highlights of their life such as, for Yorke and Cole, winning the treble in 1999 (including the
Champions League) with Manchester United, and, for Hislop, playing in the 2006 World Cup.
In light of the debate of whether John Terry should remain England captain following his
disgraceful behaviour towards team mate Wayne Bridge, former United player and current United
season ticket holder, Andrew Cole, has spoken about the role of the football captain.
"Captaincy in football is massively overrated, almost to the point of being
irrelevant," said Cole.
This week on EPL Talk we'll bring you exclusive interviews from some of the biggest
names in English football such as Andrew Cole and Dwight Yorke, as well as an interview with ESPN
pundit Shaka Hislop. Our coverage began last Friday with an exclusive interview with ESPN analyst
Tommy Smyth.
On this edition of the EPL Talk Podcast we are joined by Andrew Cole. Cole is an iconic player
of the Premier League era, coming to prominence in 1993-94 when he scored 34 league goals for
Newcastle United. He later joined Manchester United where he collected three consecutive 20-goal
seasons from 1997-98 through 1999-2000, playing an integral part in United's treble winning season
in 1998-99.
Dwight Yorke is best known for his days playing for Manchester United and Aston Villa. On this
edition of the EPL Talk Podcast, the Trinidad and Tobago international, who represented his country
at the 2006 World Cup, joined the Gaffer as part of ESPN's Super Bowl at Sea cruise.
Yorke, who partnered with Andrew Cole (Cole interview) in attack for Manchester United in the
late 1990s, made his First Division debut in 1990 and would go on to play for Villa, United,
Blackburn Rovers, Birmingham City and Sunderland, with a brief sojourn in Australia before his
final days at the Stadium of Light.

view on the changes at Manchester City and in the Premiership.
On the episode of the EPL Talk podcast we move from the action on the pitch to the events
surrounding the game, and there is no better person to talk about that than Pitch Invasion's Tom
Dunmore. Tom joined me for this edition of the show to talk about the movements pushing for
ownership changes at Old Trafford and Anfield, Then, we talk about some issues surrounding the
future of football blogging and the role Tom sees Pitch Invasion playing be it through new projects
or continued consideration of the course being traveled by the football blogging world.
Seventeen years ago, give or take a month, a vibrant Newcastle side swept aside Barnsley 6-0 as a
certain Andrew Cole began to find his feet in town. After rougly forty minutes of stop-start first
half football, your money wouldn't have been on a similar outcome today. But after Barnsley keeper
Luke Steele saw red [.

Andrew "Andy" Cole (he wants to be called Andrew) is one of the iconic players of the Premier
League, a legend at two clubs, one of which is Newcastle.
For a man who yearns so earnestly for respect, it must dismay Andrew Cole that he has found himself
defined by the disrespectful.
Sunderland hit-man Darren Bent is taking advice from Premier League living legend Andrew
Cole.
It came as a surprise to many that despite his 25 goals last season, Bent missed out on the
opportunity to represent England in the 2010 World Cup. Let's be honest though... England could
have used some goal scoring this past World Cup tournament.
Sunderland forward Darren Bent has a right to feel hard-done-by in terms of his international
career. Since making his debut under Sven-Goran Eriksson against Uruguay in March 2006, Bent has
won just six more caps. Considering he has scored 65 goals in 147 Premier League appearances since
then, you might think he would walk into any international side.
Andrew Cole has reflected on Manchester United's time in Brazil when the club were pressured in
to representing England and Europe in the World Club Championships. The competition ended in
disappointment for United, after losing to Brazilian side Vasco da Gama.
"Ten years ago, Manchester United were criticised for playing in the tournament because it
meant pulling out of the FA Cup," said Cole.
