Whilst still marvelling at the eloquence of yesterday's post by charybdis1966, I have to
disagree with what I think is its central theme, namely that Chelski and Man IOU sit back in the
belief that we can't really hurt them.
The game on Sunday kicked off in a very end to end fashion, with both teams attacking with
abandon.

Now, I'm going to get to the real crux of the matter the stick that AW has taken for his
‘stubbornness' over recent campaigns. Arsene has been criticised for sticking so steadfastly to
his youth policy, but bear in mind some of the players that this approach has benefited so far
Bendtner, Clichy, Song, Vela, Wilshere and, of course, Cesc Fabregas, who is now valued in the £40
million category.

In a game of many villains for us it may seem odd to pick out one, but I'm sad to say that
Denilson does not belong in the Arsenal first team.
Before I elaborate, it's worth having a quick word for each of the other villains of the piece
(and some heroes):
Alex Song: idiot for the first booking (he was carded for the dissent, not for
the non-foul).
Arsenal 2 1 Birmingham City
All the talk surrounding this match involved the return of Alexander Hleb (CM)
to The Emirates Stadium, the rumored return to fitness of Theo Walcott
(RW) and the non-rumored return of Nickolas Bendtner (S) for The
Gunners.
Is Cristiano Ronaldo self-obsessed? Or just aware of his image as a self-obsessed footballer and
willing to play on it? Probably both. Video via 101GG. Jeff Cunningham claims to be Freddy Adu

Liverpool are in Big Trouble!
After a two-week break for Arsenal Station due to illness, I return to my blogging duties at the
best of times. After our satisfactory result/disappointing performance at Liverpool last weekend,
Arsenal needed to put in a quality performance. Of course, there are huge issues still surrounding
the squad, but a 6-nil victory, no matter the opposition, can only give the team confidence going
forward.

Dimitar Berbatov and Andrei Arshavin are unquestionably two of the most technically gifted
players in the Premier League.
After confirming that everything was a-ok with his life in London once his wife joined him back
in August and he figured how to park and use credit cards, it seemed Andrei Arshavin was well on
his way to being a slightly normal human being. But, as it turns out, he's still having a difficult
go of it.
This man is a gift from the gods to an undeserving people. We as football fans do not deserve him.
We do not deserve him in his native language, and we certainly do not deserve him stumbling through
the learning stages of a new one. But we have been chosen, and we must not take [...]

Arsenal forward Andrey Arshavin has sensationally claimed that he will be joining
Barcelona in the summer and that left back Gael Clichy will also join him at the Nou
Camp.

So, just a few thoughts on the Milan match...
Nasri continues to shine in the middle of the park. So far this summer we've seen him create and
score goals, play high and deep, and generally show consistent creativity. He looks a much
different, much better player than when he arrived two summers ago.
Young 21 years old Arsenal forward Carlos Vela has a really unpredicted opportunity now to shine
for Arsene Wenger's Gunners side in the next weeks.
Vela has missed out so far to earn a starting place for the Premier League side, but with a few
players injured actually including Robin van Persie (6 Weeks), Theo Walcott (4-6 weeks), Nicklas
Bendtner (3-4 weeks) as well as Andrey Arshavin in poor form, the Mexican will definitely get his
chance to join the Arsenal boat for the title race.
In the course of my regular morning scouring of the internet for Arsenal news I came across this
blog post that linked to this article in the Danish media.
The headline of that Danish post, if google translate is to be believed, is – Bendtner: I'm
wasting my time at Arsenal.
It seems like an interview similar to the ones he has given earlier where he comes across as
being extremely confident and deserving of a starting role.
So the ups and not so ups of this season continued last night as we drew 2-2 away to Wigan.
Hugely disappointing, especially under the circumstances. They had just been reduced to 10 men
after N'Zogbia, clearly their most dangerous player, decided to use Jack Wilshere's face as the
ball and give it a little glancing header.
Arsenal return to action tomorrow afternoon against Everton at the Emirates. With the Bolton
match canceled, there hasn't been much news in the last few days. What is the media's reaction to
slow Arsenal news cycles? Create another Cesc-to-Spain rumour? Correct!
This time, Pep Guardiola has allegedly delayed renewing his contract until he receives a
commitment from the Barca brass that they will bring Fabregas to Camp Nou this summer.
The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is yet again pulling back from seeing the need to buy another
striker this month. The results of the scan on Nicklas Bendtner suggest he could return to the
squad in a week or two, so therefore there is no pressing need to add to the Arsenal strike force
at [...]
Arsene Wenger has admitted that he is becoming increasingly unhappy with the striking situation at
Arsenal, with Nicklas Bendtner and Theo Walcott taking longer to recover from their injuries than
they first thought, and has bemoaned the fact that he can't find anyone good enough on the transfer
market to fill the void.
Arsenal's fixture with Bolton later this evening is crucial for many reasons. First, and most
obvious, Arsenal can go top of the league with 2-goal margin of victory. But, second, and perhaps
more important in the long run, is Arsenal will need all the confidence they can muster as we go
into a four-game run of fixtures of the likes no other club will have to deal with all season.
Oh, the hypocrisy!! How richly ironic for Bolton fans to be complaining about a hard foul!
Bolton got a taste of their own medicine last night, and -surprise, surprise, they didn't like it.
Do I feel bad that Arsenal got an equalizer following the foul? HELL NO! Would anyone have felt bad
for Arsenal if James Vaughn had put Everton up 3-1 last week?
So remember last year when Andrei Arshavin hadn't signed for Arsenal by the transfer deadline?
Until suddenly he had? And remember when Carlos Tevez's transfer to West Ham was ruled
illegitimate, given that his previous ownership was found to be fishier than a trout hatchery? And
remember all the rumors about money laundering [.

Guest contributor, Greg Schwartz, proposes a radical lineup change as a way to help stop the
explosiveness of the Barcelona attack. Whether you agree or disagree, and I have a feeling many of
you will disagree, it shows just how ridiculously these two matches are to Arsenal supporters.
So, I write this blog post knowing full well that many of you will disagree with me, and to be
honest, I'm not sure I will even agree with myself by the end of it.
So, let me begin by saying that I was probably thinking what alot of you were after reading
guest contributor, Greg Schwartz's article yesterday regarding starting Eboue and Walcott on the
left. In fact, I told him to expect to be flamed, but, to his great credit, he stuck to his guns.
Now Walcott and Eboue may not have played on the left, but they both came on as subs and had a
major impact on the match.
Don't tell anyone, but I'm in worse form than Eboue and Diaby!
The formerly lethal
Russian Andrei Arshavin is in terrible form, but he's still our last Funny Feeling Friday of the
year.
Arshavin has failed to live up to his lofty (fantasy) expectations at the Emirates this year, and
his injuries have piled up here and there but he's still a supreme talent.
Shirt sales. They're enough to influence the transfer targets of the biggest clubs in the world.
(We're looking at you Park Ji Sung.) But which Premier League player actually
sold the most shirts last season? Fortunately, we now know the answer thanks to Sporting
iD, the company who makes the letters and numbers that get ironed onto the back of every
shirt.
Arshavin looks good in a suit, if a bit serious. (Plus: pretty colors.)

Arsenal 6 0 Blackpool
Blackpool's resounding win over Wigan Athletic last weekend was mirrored by a performance that
many thought they'd see from the newly-promoted side this season. Theo Walcott
(RW) was clearly the Man of the Day as he went on to bag a hat-trick, a
clean-sheet and a three-point bonus to give him a whopping twenty-one points on the
day.
Despite another round of heavy spending by Manchester City, it's been a relatively
quiet summer in the transfer market all across Europe. But the prospect for one last big-money move
is always a possibility – right up until the deadline on September 1st.

After a weekend to forget, both the London-based clubs that were on the end of surprise defeats
bounced back with comfortable wins in the Second Matchday of the Champions League Group Stage.
After losing at midweek to Newcastle United and being outplayed on Saturday by Manchester City,
Chelsea surely cited the Champions League tie with Olympique de Marseille of France as the match to
