Score all three points for Roy Hodgson. He started Andy Caroll, and the big man delivered with a towering (Michael Jordan would have been proud of that hang time) header for England's first goal. With England falling behind, he went to Theo Walcott, who with his first touch restored parity through a rasping open field volley.

A brilliant first-half header from Andy Carroll gave England a slender 1-0 advantage at the interval but the Swedes responded strongly with two goals of their own within 14 minutes at the beginning of the second half.

Elsewhere though, it seems that there may be no further changes in goal, with Heurelho Gomes scheduled to stay and fight it out with Brad Friedel for the number one jersey.

Never did get to enjoy the "Isaksson for a buck" era to which I was so looking forward. First Casper and then Joe Hart kept the gloves for Citeh. And for whatever reason (matchups, most likely) I always ended up with PRobbo for a buck. And that never worked out well. So good luck to Isaksson as, in ironic fashion, he goes to PSV to replace Gomes who has gone to Spurs to replace Probbo.
