According to the Barcelona website Miami will be graced with a wonderful soccer game that will
involve Barcelona of Spain versus A.C. Milan! Game is said to be scheduled for August 3, 2011.
Two of the best teams in the world in our backyard!
A.C. Milan's current roster includes
Italians Massimo Ambrosini,Gennaro Iván Gattuso, Andrea Pirlo, Alessandro Nesta, Filippo Inzaghi,
German Kevin-Prince Boateng, Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, American Oguchi Onyewu Brazilians
Alexandre Pato, Robinho, Ronaldinho, Dutch star Clarence Seedorf and Colombian Mario Yepes just to
name a few.
Croatian Andrea Pirlo. Plays literally anywhere in midfield. In fact, the Football Manager boffins
tried to label him as ‘DM/M/AMLRC' before getting wildly confused and having to take a quick
time-out. Signed for Spurs during the hideous Ramos/Comolli era but now that he's turned out to be
quite good, it's probably better to forget that fact.
Rafa Benitez gets the boot and Leonardo, the former manager of AC Milan takes over. Inter have
been a shadow of that triple title winning juggernaut under Jose Mourinho. It will be a huge but
not an insurmountable challenge to get back into contention - they're in seventh position and 13
points behind league leading Milan with two games in hand.
Sorry again for the lack of posts, but it's just been hectic lately. I wanted to at least get
Calcio Thoughts up, so I can answer all your great questions for the 8th week in a row. If you
would like to have a calcio question answered in next week's Calcio Thoughts 9, you know the drill
by now.
AC Milan in the Champions League? Alright then, why not? As if one trip to Milan wasn't enough this
season.
It's a marvellous indication of how we've prospered in Europe's premier competition that a draw
like AC Milan isn't completely insurmountable for us. Sure, there were those that said we wouldn't
get out of the group and we quickly proved that theory to be as accurate as the one about the world
being square.
