The Azzurri have arrived in Sofia Friday, around 8:00pm local time. The players were greeted by the
usual groups of photographers, camera crew, and even a small group of Italian supporters, who will
no doubt be present on the stands of Levski Stadium tomorrow, as Bulgaria host Italy for the South
Africa 2010 World Cup [.
Rafael Benitez has been told by Rick Parry that Liverpool must be Premier League contenders next
season (that doesn't mean tailing off around Christmas time), despite the Spaniard claiming the
domestic title is just one option. Nevertheless, some serious spending appears to be under way,
with The Sun reporting that Andrea Dossena could be the [.
The winter transfer window doesn't open for another month and a half, but rumors are already
swirling about who could be on the move in January. Today's transfer rumors center around a few
players who might not be in the best of graces at their respective clubs. Elano to QPR on Loan?
Could Manchester [.
"I will make many changes" said Lippi after the Cyprus game. And that's exactly what
we're expecting on Wednesday, when Italy receives Georgia at Stadio Friuli of Udine. Particularly
we are looking at a big overhaul in defense, because the zone of the field which historically has
made them famous is looking very shaky in [.
Andrea Dossena has had a mixed start to his Liverpool career, showing promising signs when going
forward but equally worrying ones when he has to defend. Back in Italy, however, there are few
doubts about the player who became Liverpool's most expensive defender when he joined from Udinese
last July.
The News of the World reported over the weekend that Liverpool left back Andrea Dossena could be
set for a January move to Juventus or Roma. The former Udinese man was signed in the summer as a

the first team, gets to move on this is coupled by expressions of sadness and disappointment.
Now they just need some decent wide men and they'll be ready to launch a title assault which might

£7million - money well spent?

Liverpool are hoping to complete the signing of Udinese full-back Andrea Dossena next week.
Reds chief executive Rick Parry confirmed a deal for the 26-year-old Italian is almost done.
"We are now ready to confirm the signing of Dossena.
Never give too much importance to the results of pre-season friendlies. Regardless of what name is
given to these games or the size of tin pot cups handed out to the winners at the end, they remain
glorified training sessions where the intensity of training undergone by each side is likely to
play a determining role
What can be taken out of these games are indications and sensations on the overall ability of a
team, what their potential is for the coming season.
One of the criticisms that is often levelled at Benitez is his reluctance to play young players.
That there are many valid reasons for this - lack of quality and the ability to handle the pressure
of playing at such a level being two of them - doesn't really matter.
That said, perhaps Benitez is perhaps too reticent when it comes to giving young players a chance.
