Fernando Torres has always been press worthy during his time at Chelsea. It's only that now the
news seems to be largely flattering and the transfer rumors are actually including fees this rather
than us paying another team to take the Spaniard off our hands.
The latest news to emerge regarding Nando comes via his agent, Antonio Sanz, who spoke with

It's been 22 days since Andre Villas-Boas parted ways with
Chelsea and contrary to popular belief, the Portuguese hasn't been directing spies
to Inter Milan's training ground (or more specifically, Ranieri's house). Instead,
Villas-Boas attracted a fair bit of attention in Barcelona last weekend when he attended the
Segunda division match between Barça B and Alcoyano at the Mini Estadi, where
fans spotted him and asked for autographs.
Spanish National Coach Vincente Del Bosque reports that he will wait until the final hour before
deciding on whether to add struggling Chelsea forward Fernando Torres to the lineup for... Read

It's a question that has no easy answer. The intangibles and the ever-rising feeling of
ambiguity plague the fans. But the thing that makes Andre Villas Boas' sacking most sobering is the
fact that Chelsea still look completely lost. They are lost not only in the sense that they cannot
find a rhythm on the pitch.

Look for part one of our Union roundtable later today.
Carlos Valdes says of the departure of Faryd Mondragon, "Faryd taught me a lot of things. His
experience was very important for us. Maybe now we are more motivated."
Local
Penn Live have a Q&A with former Union player Morgan Langley, who has returned to Harrisburg
City Islanders.
"Going... going.... gone!" Well that just sums up the 8-month journey of
Andre Villas-Boas as Chelsea coach... a journey which culminated in a spectacular
and timely dismissal on Saturday. Don't play the angel now, you knew this was coming!
Anyway, the fact is Chelsea probably aren't very proud about being relegated to "third best" in
London now, behind Spurs and Arsenal in the standings.
So, it's the same old then. Tired, embarrassing shit.
Right man, wrong time
Andre Villas-Boas sacked. How fucking shocking.
Let me see if I can predict our immediate future here. Shouldn't be so hard considering this has
become a regular occurrence on Fulham Road over the past eight or so years.
A manager's sacking results in reactions laughable in their predictability; tweets in all
capitals about the news, hastily penned epitaphs and obituaries, both glowing and vitriolic, Sky
Sports News launching their jism all over cyberspace in an eagerness to dissect every facet of the
departure, et cetera and more tedious et cetera.
The worst kept secret in the Premier League has been let out the bag. Despite announcing that AVB
would still be at the club in three years in time only a month ago, Roman Abramovich has moved to
sack manager Andre Villas-Boas after only seven months in charge. AVB had a torrid time at Chelsea,

Nicks' note: What, you thought Sahil Dumir was like Romelu
Lukaku, that he would swirl his cape around and swoosh into nothingness after one blog post? He's
back for seconds, and not very tasty ones at that. The little blue tyke dissects Chelsea's loss to
West Brom here.
Two wins out of two? Yes, please.

Frank hates Andre. Andre hates Frank. Bob hates Frank. London Bridge is falling down. Or that's
what those lovely mugs in the media would have us believe.
The talking heads continue to spout the drivel, their latest move being to smear David Luiz by
manipulating some of his words this week into some sort of call-out directed at Frank Lampard.
Many of you have called for the firing of Andre Villas-Boas. Many of us, like me for instance,
have called for caution in this case. Polarizing this young Portuguese.
It may not matter what we think for much longer, that is if Duncan Castles is to be believed. He
says, in The National, that Villas-Boas has been told he will be sacked if he fails to
guide Chelsea past Napoli in the second leg of our Champions League first knockout round tie in two
weeks.
We won a match? Weird. And fantastic.
Is there any thing more nostalgic at the moment for us Chelsea fans than seeing Didier Drogba
thump home a Frank Lampard corner delivery? Well, maybe Frank volleying home coolly at the back
post to round off another frolic against Bolton Wanderers. Talk about a total recall.
Get your ass to Mars
For much of the past two months, my face has resembled the one unleashed by Arnold in the
cinematic still above.
This afternoon, for most of us Chelsea brethren, was a nice change of pace from the usual
depression-filled days of the past couple of months.
It should have been an evening to savor for players, staff and supporters following the recent
string of poor result after poor result, but it seems as though more speculation is bound to engulf
Chelsea instead after Frank Lampard opted to talk up internal (and personal) strife rather than
focus on the positives of today's display.
Strap in. This could be bumpy.

We're still trudging through Mordor aren't we? Gary Cahill takes over as Frodo on this day, as
he welcomes his former employer to Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
We kind of need a win here. Yeah, we definitely need a win here.
What to say? We've been shit for some time now, and it really doesn't look like getting better
soon.
AVB The end of the road? The Portuguese manager's team selection on Tuesday almost seemed like the
white flag of surrender. A home game against Bolton might be the perfect respite, but is there such
a thing for AVB at the moment? Chelsea have an ageing squad, a lack of pace, a lack of goals, [...]
'Twas in the darkest depths of Mordor I met a girl so fair.
Or, you know, where we met a young Portuguese manager on the cusp of receiving the sharp end of
Roman's gold-encrusted hatchet. This was, well, not good. Not good at all.
We've been putting off writing a recap of this match for a couple of reasons, the first being
that Devin and I simply are lacking in inspiration these days.
A rabid atmosphere awaits Andre Villas-Boas and company (sans John Terry) in Naples tonight. I
for one cannot wait to see how this first leg plays out.

At this point, Andre Villas-Boas might be making an active push towards unemployment.
This sheet was reportedly clipped from the Hotel Vesuvio in Napoli, where Chelsea's staying
before their Champions League fixture this evening (against...guess who). It might be
misinformation, or it might not.
A couple of matches to save his job? At least a few people are of the opinion that that is
indeed the predicament facing Andre Villas-Boas ahead of this potentially wild Champions League tie
with Napoli. Well, with Chelsea these days, nothing is particularly wild just distressing.
Could this be the stage for the long-awaited renaissance?
On Tuesday, Napoli host Chelsea in the Champions League Round of 16 meaning it's unlikely that this
Napoli fan will sleep on Monday night. Chelsea may have hit a rough patch recently, but that's no
guarantee that things will go well at the San Paolo. The partenopei have, how shall I put
this...they have a slight problem when they underestimate the strength of their.
We are playing like shit. Every one of us is waiting for the shit to stop. Some are suggesting
that the shit stops with Andre Villas-Boas. I, as you know, am not of this opinion. However, seeing
as there are many that would like to see the suave Portuguese vacate the premises, I thought I'd
gauge just how many are leaning toward this resolution.
I'm going to attempt to keep this short because, quite frankly, spitting viciously vile vitriol
is not how I'd like to spend my Saturday afternoon. Virulence really isn't going to get us
anywhere.
But, shit, I'm fucking pissed.
Don't worry, it got much worse.
A trip to Goodison Park is just the tonic needed following our recent troubles, namely a
bizarre, referee-induced three-goal collapse at home against Manchester United.
Wait, what? We rarely win at Everton? Shit.
Mean muggin'
We have actually won at Goodison this season, a 2-1 victory in extra time in the League Cup.

On initial inspection, similarities between Andre Villas-Boas' Chelsea and Edgar Allan Poe seem
most abundantly clear in a shared propensity for an excruciating and painfully drawn-out narrative
(think Fernando Torres and The Pit and Pendulum).

Several Union players talk about preseason training at YSC SPorts last week. The team landed in
Orlando on Sunday.
Danny Califf, acknowledging that only he and Brian Carroll are the only players remaining on the
Union who are older than 27, tells MLSsoccer.
What was a dream at 3-0 quickly morphed into a nightmare near full time for the Chels, as
Manchester United with a helping hand from good friend Howard Webb clawed back to secure a 3-3 draw
in a breathless encounter at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Yeah, that's a difficult result to accept.
It looks like the forecast is clearing up in London. That still doesn't mean we'll play, but
it's enough reason to have a rant at least.

Help me, I'm having nightmares. More, after the jump:
Cold as ice
I'm not even sure this match is as important as what's transpiring around the orbit of England's
Once Brave (Twice-Removed) John Terry- henceforth known as EOBTRJT. Jack cooked up some brilliance
on the matter, as always, which I recommend you all read at once.
Big game at the Bridge on Super Sunday. Personnel decisions are likely to play a significant
role in the outcome. So, let's channel our inner Andre Villas-Boas and sort this one out.
Cool? Cool.
I see you.
Andre Villas-Boas faces all kinds of issues entering our match against Manchester United.
JOSH. Fortunately, he won't be playing against us. Nevertheless, this is going to be hella
difficult.

It wasn't pretty. Hell, it was downright hideous. But it's a win, one that puts us in the
fifth-round draw. Hey, that's good enough for this guy.
A united front
I guess we should have expected this. All the hype, all the controversy it simply overstated
what was bound to be on display at Loftus Road on Saturday.
We of course don't have the official prognosis yet, but on the strength of quotes from both the
player and Andre Villas-Boas it looks like we may have dodged a massive bullet.
Worrying moments
Ramires went down in serious pain during the second half of today's FA Cup fourth-round tie at
Loftus Road against Queens Park Rangers.

The magic of the FA Cup. The combined furor of two players and thus two clubs and two sets of
support groups embroiled in an alleged race row.
And, of course, handshake gate revisited.
Not again
Saturday's FA Cup fixture between visiting Chelsea and Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road is
brimmed with subplots.
Sportsmail strikes again. Though we may have to start giving the masked man/woman/thing a little
more credit on the back of breaking the Willian negotiations last week. This time around, the
Daily Mail's journo in the field, with a little help from the Mirror,
suggests Chelsea are ready to make key moves for both Paul Pogba and Gregory van der Wiel.
