For some reason this feels like an upset. I thought I considered Netherlands and Brazil to be
pretty much equals going into this game, but Netherlands 2-1 win now feels like an underdog biting
one of the alpha dogs.
Maybe it's because of the way this game started.
... What will stand out for you most on this Friday at the World Cup?
* Brazil scoring its first own goal in 97 World Cup matches?
* Wesley Sneijder's header that gave the Netherlands their 2-1 lead and eventual win over
Brazil?
* Brazil's Felipe Melo becoming the first player in World Cup history to score an own goal and get
sent off in the same game?
Poor Asamoah Gyan. The forward had been a mighty leader for his side throughout the tournament,
scoring in every game save the 1-0 loss to Germany and truly leading from the front. His missed
penalty in the final minute of extra time will haunt him for years, but I hope his team-mates and
coach are reminding him that his contributions during the tournament more than negate the error.
