Tony Tchani has been a beast for Virginia all season long.
It's been a couple weeks since my last update for the 2010 MLS SuperDraft. I hope later this
week to possibly post the order of the draft. I was waiting until the season ended to do so because
of RSL being in the final, they now own the final pick in the draft rather than the 11th or so pick
that I previously thought they'd get when the playoffs began.
I know version 1.0 was released just last week but a lot has changed since then in terms of
players signing with the league and some not signing with the league. With the recent news of a few
Generation adidas signings plus a few other rumors out there about other potential signings things
needed to be reflected here.

The 2010 MLS Draft is just three weeks away and after all the success of the 2010 MLS Draft
class, fans across the country are more anxious than ever to see just what treats this year's draft
might have for their team.
More 2010 MLS SuperDraft talk here now. MLS Insider is reporting that U-17 midfielder Jack
McInerney has signed a Generation adidas contract with Major League Soccer, joining Akron's Teal
Bunbury and Blair Gavin along with U-20 star Dilly Duka.
A formal announcement is expected soon.
The NSCAA announced on Wednesday the 15 semifinalists for the 2009 Men's Hermann
Trophy.
Minnesota Native Teal Bunbury is amongst the list of 15 names.
Bunbury started all 22 games for the Zips...scored 17 goals and added five assists (through 11/30)
to lead the team with 39 points.
Major League Soccer announced its initial list of 62 seniors invited to take part in the MLS
Draft Combine next month in Florida.
Connecticut midfielder Toni Stahl, Harvard forward Andre Akpan, UCLA midfielder Michael Stephens
and goalkeeper Brian Perk, and Indiana defender Ofori Sarkodie are some of the top players among

toward that reality on Tuesday with the announcement of the signing of seven quality draft
prospects.
Teal Bunbury, Jack McInerney, Dilly Duka and Blair Gavin were announced as the league's first
four Generation adidas signings of the winter, while Toni Stahl, Andre Akpan and Zach Loyd were
also announced as senior signings, meaning they already have MLS contracts heading into next
month's draft.

players is starting to come out. Today MLS released the list of seniors that were invited to the
MLS combine in Fort Lauderdale this coming January. Also today, thanks to Buzz Carrick over at the
great 3rd Degree blog, we have the preliminary potential Generation Adidas list.
Minnesota's Teal Bunbury has been chosen as one of three finalist for the Hermann Trophy which
will be handed out on January, 8 at the Missouri Athletic Club. The Hermann is college soccer's
highest award given.
Bunbury's Akron of Ohio Zips broke an NCAA record in Friday nights semifinal 2009 College Cup
game by defeating the University of North Carolina Tar Heels 1-0 in a game that went all the way to
shootouts.

In the first of my series looking at draft prospects that are likely to be in the 8-14 range,
and generally on offense, I start with Andre Akpan. Not because he was Mike Fucito's teammate for a
few years, nor because his coach played with Taylor Graham at Stanford, but because in one of the
first mock drafts of the year Soccer by Ives had him listed 11th.

continues to heat up. This will be the first of a few mock drafts that I will conduct over the next
few weeks leading up to the draft.
Today, MLS announced some players that will be available to clubs come January in the MLS
SuperDraft. The League has signed college seniors Andre Akpan (Harvard University), Zach Loyd
(UNC-Chapel Hill) and Toni Stahl (University of Connecticut). The underclassmen who have signed as
part of the Generation adidas program are Teal Bunbury (Akron University), Dilly Duka (Rutgers
University), Blair Gavin (Akron University) and Jack McInerney (US U-17/Cobb Soccer Club).
