England v Andorra - England hosts Andorra with a chance to punch their ticket to South
Africa next summer. The Brits have been perfect in their 6 matches and currently have a 2-0-0
record at home.
The Italy squad for the 2009 Confederations Cup has been announced by coach Marcelo Lippi. Lippi
announced the squad alongside the one to be playing Northern Ireland. 13 players are guaranteed to
be on the plane to South Africa, while the remaining 10 will be chosen from players representing
the Azzurri in the friendly against [.
The England boys were out training yesterday prepping for the game against Andorra today (come
on, Engerland!)
As you can see, BFF's Frank Lampard and John Terry decided to express themselves through their
sock heights. Shall we analyse?
John Terry's decision to wear thigh-highs: initially one would assume he is taking the role of
seducer in this relationship.

England are in action twice over the next five days, trying to qualify for the 2010
World Cup in South Africa.
Tomorrow (Saturday) England play Kazakhstan and next Wednesday England host minnows Andorra at
Wembley.
If the proposed tube strike goes ahead next week, how will people get to Wembley?
It's interesting to see that while England have (before Brazil played Argentina last night)
scored the most goals in the WCQ's, they have shown their defensive errors a- plenty. Capello's
men have only managed clean sheets against Trinidad & Tobago, Andorra, Slovakia, The US and
Kazakhstan- hardly teams with great attacking threat.
Well, there's one thing you can't hold against Fabio Capello and that's that he keeps his cards
close to his chest. Today he's announced that Peter Crouch will lead the England attack against
Ukraine tomorrow night and deservedly so. Crouch has been the victim of some vicious criticism over
the last few seasons, undeservedly so [.
England boss Fabio Capello has recalled Gary Neville to the squad for the upcoming World Cup
qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Andorra. England play Kazakhstan on June 6, followed by the clash
against Andorra four days later. With David James and Ben Foster sidelined due to injury, Capello
has also called up Paul Robinson to the national [.
After receiving the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year award at a gala dinner in
London on Friday, Steven Gerrard suggested that he is yet to reach his peak.
Indeed, the Liverpool captain hinted that he will only continue to become a better player,
insisting that he is still improving in training as he strives to realise his potential.
Rooney,Lampard,Defoe,Rooney,Defore and Crouch scored the 6 goals and England made it 7 wins out
of 7 games. This is the Fabio Capello effect. So far so good.

An anoymous Scottish man - let's call him Mad Jack McMad - bet £135,000 on England to beat
Andorra in last night's World Cup qualifier at Wembley, at prohibitive odds of 1/200. He did win
his bet, but walked away with...
Name: Adam Smith Date of Birth: 16th January 1991 (aged 18) Place of Birth: Andorra Position:
Central midfield Previous Clubs: Toulouse Present club: Real Union de Irun (Spain) Adam Smith is a
curious case, as has been reported on Les Rosbifs before. However, this is more to do with the fact
that he has not actually played competitively in England, nor [.
Liverpool misfit Andriy Voronin played a big part in Ukraine's easy win over minnows Andorra by
laying on a couple of assists. Andriy Shevchenko was also on the score sheet.

Ironically, though it's labeled as a decider, the outcome of tonight's match might end up not
carrying much weight when things come to a close. Because even with a win tonight, we'd have to
count on Ukraine dropping points to either Belarus tonight or England in one month's time. And if
on par with points before the very last fixture, goal difference would kick in, meaning basically
we'd go head to head as to who can batter their opponents more on the night (those unlucky sides
being Kazahstan and Andorra respectively).
Werder Bremen forward Aaron Hunt has rejected England's advances and has said that he will only
play for Germany at senior level. The 23 year old has represented Germany at U-16, U-17 and U-21
levels, but is eligible to play for the Three Lions because his mother is English. Hunt is expected
to be called by [.
Fabio Capello asked for patience.Between the Czech Republic last month and Andorra today, I would
say the fans patience has run out.England's performance against Andorra this afternoon can only be
described in one word, dire. From the team selection that had me wondering if Fabio Capello thought
this was a friendly, to a first half that saw England huff and puff and not finish, it took two

countries tonight and it was the FIFA 2010 World Cup Qualifiers that became the main talking point
of the evening.
Gary Neville, who might not even get a place in United's squad for the European Cup final on
Wednesday, has been recalled to the England squad.
With so many of our players fighting it out for a spot on the bench, Neville would surely only
get picked for sentimental reasons, as our captain, as a proper red, and as a player who missed out
on last season's final through injury.
Arsenal's English contingent of Theo Walcott and Kieran Gibbs have both been selected in Stuart
Pearce's 23-man England Under 21 squad for this summer's European U21 Championship. 20-year-old
Walcott has found himself at the centre of a club-versus-country row as he is also in the senior
squad for England's World Cup qualifiers against Kazakhstan [.
They Think It's All Over... thinks Leighton Baines should be England's Number Three rather than
being third choice for the left-back slot. Have a read to find out why and have your say.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been in the news this week moaning about the fact that one of his
players - Theo Walcott - has, unbelievably, actually been asked to play some football. For those
that didn't know, Walcott has been called up into the England squad for World Cup 2010 qualifiers
against Kazakhstan and Andorra and will also be playing in England's Under-21 Squad in the European
Every now and then cricket mounts a challenge to try to steal the spotlight from football.
So I wasn't too surprised when my lover said to me tonight "With the football season over you'll
have to become from girls who can't do cricket".
I thought to myself "I don't think so", but said nothing.
A flattering scoreline and a less than emphatic victory is how I would describe the outcome of
tonight's game against Kazakhstan.
Not that I'm particularly interested in joining the 'lets knock England' bandwagon.
A sub-standard pitch, long journey, and indeed long season just completed, all took their toll in
my view.
Steven Gerrard believes a win against Andorra on Wednesday would all but see England qualify for
the World Cup in South Africa next summer.
The Liverpool midfielder was instrumental in the first two goals against Kazakhstan on Saturday as
Fabio Capello's men ran out comfortable 4-0 winners to make it six wins out of six in Group Six.
Still there is no news on the tube strike due to start 7pm Tuesday night, perhaps
Wembley will be 'murdered' if the tube strike goes ahead let alone Andorra.
But what do you know about Andorra? Back in September England travelled to Andorra and won 2-0
thanks to two Joe Cole goals.
Following England's routine win over Kazakhstan on Saturday, I was listening to Five Live's 606
programme, which has the unfortunate habit of being gripping despite being mostly filled with
ranting, rambling nonsense.
Irritating as Alan Green, the usual presenter, can sometimes be, he does bring a certain level
of wit that adds entertainment to his acerbic comments, whether or not his points have actual merit
when fully considered.
It's another set of UEFA World Cup Qualifying matches on Wednesday with England hosting Andorra,
Russia is at Finland, and Malta at Sweden. Here's a preview of these threee matches.
England v Andorra - England hosts Andorra with a chance to punch their ticket
to South Africa next summer.
Over to RvN... Just so Gary Neville knows what to do when he fires home his 30-yard screamer! This
Andorra defender was not very professional when Ruud Van Nistelrooy missed a penalty against them.
But Ruud soon got his goal and a yellow card, and the Andorran got his comeuppance.
A sign of things to come... Wayne Rooney being gleefully manhandled whilst surrounded by a mismatch
array of comical opponents. Oh, and the attendance in this scene is probably about the same as it
will be at the match.
Andorra? Andorra... that's in Africa, right? Like everyone in America, I know very little about
Andorra. I do know that they are playing England tonight at Wembley (Btw, if you have a ticket and
live in London, good luck...
The two-day strike on the London Underground officially started on Tuesday night - which means
thousands of fans will be unable to make the trip to Wembley to watch England v Andorra
tonight.
Although limited services in the North West area, there are no over-ground trains running, no
park-and-ride facilities and limited parking in and around the Wembley area.
Just over 58,000 fans made it to Wembley (despite the tube strike) this evening
(Wednesday) to see England beat Andorra 6-0. To be honest it should have been 12 or more, but the
crowd went home happy with SIX and I wonder how many punters got the correct score.
For the record Wayne Rooney scored 2, Jermaine Defoe scored 2, Frank Lampard and Peter Crouch
scored the others.
Several teams moved closer to clinching a spot in South Africa next summer as there were UEFA
World Cup Qualifying matches on Wednesday. Here are links to full video highlights of each
match.
England v Andorra - 2-1
Sweden v Malta - 4-1
Finland - Russia - 0-3
It was another day of UEFA World Cup Qualifiers with England crushing Andorra, Sweden keeping
their chances alive, and Russia with a strong win on the road. The Netherlands continued their good
form with a win while Serbia and Macedonia both won.
England dominates Andorra 6-0 - England easily disposed of Andorra 6-0 in a
lopsided match.

John Terry's decision to wear thigh-highs: initially one would assume he is taking the role of

Theo Walcott proved last night in the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1> England senior team's
6-nil crushing of Andorra that he is close to the final product. His contribution to setting up
Lampard's goal was an example of Theo providing end product after a blistering run down the
flanks.
No great shock that Andorra, who would struggle to compete in League Two, were thrashed by Fabio
Capello's boys in white. England could have scored more than ten goals but settled on six. Gold
stars for Wayne Rooney, Glen...
Hardly a month has passed since Barcelona's triumph in Rome, and Europe's best are back at it
again. Well, maybe not the "best." The revised format for Champions League qualifying has the
continent's diminutive champions taking the field first. The first round kicked-off Tuesday with
matches between the champions of Malta, Andorra, Montenegro and San Marino, allowing Europe's
longest of long shots to enjoy a moment in the spotlight.
West Ham 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur ( Carlton Cole 49′/ Jermain Defoe 54′, Aaron Lennon 79′) A
late goal from winger Aaron Lennon allowed Tottenham Hotspur to emerge triumphant in their London

their first three games of their season- a [.
