Germany face tense wait for qualification

Bundesliga Talk 11 September @ 09:46 AM EST
It seems strange that a team that has gained 22 points from a possible 24 is not yet guaranteed World Cup qualification. London Calling, Part II

Euro 2008 on World Cup Blog 09 September @ 06:11 AM EST

Ironically, though it's labeled as a decider, the outcome of tonight's match might end up not carrying much weight when things come to a close. Because even with a win tonight, we'd have to count on Ukraine dropping points to either Belarus tonight or England in one month's time. And if on par with points before the very last fixture, goal difference would kick in, meaning basically we'd go head to head as to who can batter their opponents more on the night (those unlucky sides being Kazahstan and Andorra respectively).

So Wembley Got A Crowd

Oldham Athletic Are The Real Latics 10 June @ 04:56 PM EST
Just over 58,000 fans made it to Wembley (despite the tube strike) this evening (Wednesday) to see England beat Andorra 6-0. To be honest it should have been 12 or more, but the crowd went home happy with SIX and I wonder how many punters got the correct score.
