It was gut wrenching to see Antonio Valencia sustain that horrific injury on Tuesday night against
Rangers, not just from a literal visual point of view, but because of the knowledge that the
man...

Once more, it's a tale of Manchester United shooting themselves in the foot. Such talent oozing
from the walls of Old Trafford, but thus far this season, United have failed to produce the desired
results on the road. United are uncharacteristically chucking goals (and points) left and right
and that worrying trend shows no sign of abating, given the result at Bolton.
Competitions for places has always been high at Manchester United and has contributed greatly to
the motivation of squad players and ultimately to our success over the years.
Now though, it appears the lack of competition in the current squad could be hindering United's
chances of reclaiming the Premier League crown from Chelsea.
Another transfer window has now closed and it's another where many Manchester United fans have
been left feeling disappointed due to the apparent lack of transfer activity at Old Trafford.
Chris Smalling has arrived from Fulham, as well as Javier Hernandez, Marnick Vermijl and
Bebe.
Rumour had it that Sir Alex Ferguson had told Bebe to put a stop to the hair do he sported when
signing for United. We dismissed that on RoM. Fergie was a lot more strict in the past with such
things, which once prompted a rumour that Nani had been told to stop his extravagant goal
celebration after opening his account for us in the pre-season and following it up with a flip.
Rio Ferdinand returned to action last night when he played 45 minutes for the Manchester United
Reserves in the Senior Cup clash Vs Oldham Athletic.
The defender who was unable to captain England in South Africa due to knee ligament damage
completed 45 minutes at Bower Fold , and showed no ill-effects of the injury that prevented him
from playing in the World Cup as well as the opening month of the Barclays Premier League.
Michael Carrick's bid to regain his place in the Manchester United engine room has suffered a
setback. The midfielder has been ruled out for three to four weeks with an achilles problem that
he's...

Kuszczac 8 It's unusual for a united goalkeeper to claim a man of the match award, with most of
the action generally happening at the other end of the pitch, but his saves kept us in the game in
the first half and helped us come storming back to win the game. I just wish he'd learn to catch
instead of constantly punching the ball out for corners or back into the danger area.
While Manchester United were cruising to a 5-2 defeat of Scunthorpe with an entirely different
starting line up to that used against Liverpool on Sunday, ten other Premier League clubs were
dropping...

It's Europe versus Americas Man Utd got in the Ryder Cup spirit by staging their own golf
tournament. Of sorts. Representing Europe were Wes Brown, Darren Fletcher and John O'Shea, while
Team Americas comprised Anderson, Fabio and Rafael. Europe had a slight advantage in that it
appears that none of Team Americas can actually play [.

Van der Sar 7 Solid performance frmo the Dutchman who was rarey called into
action. one spectacular save stood out in the first half, but it wouldn't have counted as the
whistle had already been blown.
Rafael 7 Defended well and got forward when he could.
