You know Romelu Lukaku, even if you don't know Romelu Lukaku.
He's 'that kid' who comes through every generation, titillating the masses and spawning requests
from all to get a closer look at the old birth certificate, as no one can possibly be that big,
that strong, that fast and that good while also being that damn young.
Running down the list of the teams which won league titles in 2010, there was an unsurprising
common thread: all had some amount of history or significant financial clout. In short: it was
unsurprising that they were unsurprising. In the age of the rich getting richer, the rich also get
the trophies.
ST PETERSBURG, Russia FC Zenit St Petersburg maintained their 100% Group G record and put RSC
Anderlecht's own qualification out of their hands with a 3-1 win against the Belgian side. Clinical
all campaign, it was once again Zenit's touch of class when it mattered which proved decisive
against an Anderlecht team who prodded [.
A tough night in St Petersburg for Sacha Kljestan and Anderlecht, and the Birmingham derby turned
ugly at St Andrews for Brad Friedel and Aston Villa. Sacha Kljestan started for Anderlecht on a
frozen field in Russia, with the home side taking advantage in a 3-1 loss at Zenit St Petersburg.
Zenit was up from the 12th minute, adding a second in the 65th.
Sacha Kljestan and Anderlecht received a thrashing at the hands of Zenit St. Petersburg while Jozy
Altidore watched from the bench as Villarreal secured a spot in the knockout round against Dinamo
Zagreb.
As we continue our look at some of the great sides from history it is impossible to overlook the
Allied side of the Second World War in the 1981 film Escape to Victory.
This team never actually lined up together in a competitive game you say?
You try telling them that their epic 4-4 wasn't competitive.
Heartbreaking, to say the least! After a 45 minutes dominated by AEK, great support from our
fans, lovely football, what do we get?? A missed penalty by Blanco and a counter attack goal for
Zenit. To be honest I can't really describe what I feel right now... maybe a little anger,
disappointment. And to make matters worse Anderlecht are winning 2-0 (no surprise there) which
means we must score a goal, otherwise the round of the 32 will be nothing but a dream for us.

Sacha Klestan and Anderlecht advanced in the Europa League on Thursday, beating Hajduk Split 2-0 at
the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium. Tom De Sutter scored Anderlecht's opener in the 11th minute and
Matias Suarez doubled the lead in the 40th. The win combined with an AEK Athens loss means
Anderlecht advances as the second-place team in Group G.
Europe is over for us once again yet things could have so easily gone the other way!
We played a well fought match and the passion was very obviously there from our players.
Throughout the entire first half they pressured and never gave up chasing the ball. Our passing was
smooth, players looked calm and collected when under pressure in the attack, and things really were
going well for us for the first 40 minutes or so.
After Europa League action on Thursday night, Anderlecht will head west to take on Club Brugge in
Jupiler Pro League action as they try to re-claim the top spot in this last game before Christmas.

A great story of Mr. Tim Benty. A young American who discovered football/soccer in Europe after
World War II.
Boys will be boys Although 'tis the season to be jolly, the referee in the game between Club Brugge
and Anderlecht didn't quite see it this was as he suspended play after just seven minutes after
fans pelted Jonathan Legear and Mbark Boussoufa with snowballs. Play did resume eventually, with
Anderlecht running out 2-0 winners.

When you think of snow, it's the innocent fluffy stuff of childhood wonder, playfully tossing it
about whilst walking in a winter wonderland. Get it in the hands of rowdy football fans, like those
of Club Brugge, say, and anything can go from the beacon of purity to a game-stopping weapon.
PhillySoccerPage spends the bulk of its time delivering top-rate commentary and news about the
Union and the rest of the Philadelphia soccer scene. With MLS in the offseason, it's time for the
casual local soccer fans out there to expand your palates and latch onto an international team or
two. Otherwise, March will roll around and you will be out of soccer-fan shape.
Anderlecht "scores a goal", doesn't touch the ball in the opposition's half. Don't get that
every day.

- FCKing dominant. (The Ball Is Round)
- Mario Balotelli is progressive. (The DA)
- African internationals. (IBWM)
- Roman keeps good manager, hires terrible band.
Whose in line for an award?
Our friends over at The Yanks Are Coming did such a good job coming up with annual awards that
we wanted to....steal them and make them our own. Maybe a little....we just wanted a ballot...and
we got one.
Here's how the TSG corporate ballot looks:
Oh and go vote right here for the same awards
