- Jason Davis Sick of my voice yet? Wait, don't answer that. Jared and I, in our usual time slot,
have a new American Soccer Show for your listening enjoyment. We hit on our impressions of
Klinsmann's debut, address a few of the more notable performances from Wednesday, talking about the
good vibes that everyone is buzzing on, and consider the next steps in the next round of
friendlies.
- Jason Davis A little bonus American Soccer Show action for you. After getting together with Jared
to chat with Brian Straus of The Sporting News, we decided it was a good idea to put out a bonus
episode rather than hold on to it over the weekend. In here is a lot of great stuff from Brian on
Klinsmann's debut, the new feeling around the team , Freddy to Philly, and more.
- Jason Davis
Here we go, the first American Soccer Show of the Juergen Klinsmann Era. How will this era differ
from the last era, which was just a somewhat more successful version of the era before it.
Klinsmann, bringing the revolution?
Jared and I cover most of the relevant questions surrounding Klinsmann's takeover.
-Jason Davis Here's the podcast of last night's live special edition of the American Soccer Show
entitled "Bob Got Fired." Things as big as Bob Bradley getting fired don't happen too often, so
Jared and I hit UStream by popular demand (meaning like 3 people asked). Brian Sciaretta (a Twitter
must-follow) from Yanks Abroad joined us off the top to give his analysis of the situation.
Live American Soccer Show tonight at 9 ET/6 PT to cover the departure of Bob Bradly as USMNT head
coach. Go to the American Soccer Show UStream page to listen. Spread the word.

- Jason Davis It's that time again, time for Jared and I to talk about random pop culture questions
like "What's more 90's"...I mean cover the week that was in American soccer. We start out this week
hitting on Jared's day at the World Football Challenge (ahem - meaningless friendly - ahem) and the
carry over effect on WPS from the USWNT run and thoughts about soccer owning summer.
That's not Jared, but it could be. -Jason Davis Jason. Jared. So You Think You Can Dance? tapings
and Jared stepping out on AmSoc. Drama. Well, not really. Jared and I, having done the show before
the USWNT's loss in the World Cup final, talk about other things. First, it's Jared's super awesome
week, reality dancing competitions and guest spots on other soccer shows included.
- Jason Davis Last week got away from me, and I completely forgot to post show 80. If you missed
it, here's the link to the show's blog page. But here's show 81. Jared and I convened immediately
following the US Women's National Team's amazing win over Brazil in the quaterfinals of the Women's
World Cup.
- Jason Davis Who wants to hear Jared and I attempt to understand what happened on Saturday night
while people jump in on the phones in to call for Bob Bradley's head? You, that's who. It only
seemed appropriate to take the show live immediately following the Gold Cup final, the better to
capture the visceral feelings of the fans.
You asked, we delivered. Another live midweek show to cover the Gold Cup happenings. Jared and I
took to the UStream channel last night to talk about the USMNT's win over Panama and American
chances against Mexico on Saturday. The theme of the show: Three Questions. 1. Should Donovan
start? 2.
The USA managed to rebound from a distressing 1-0 win over Guadaloupe with an emphatic 2-0 win over
Jamaica on Sunday afternoon at RFK. Jared and I took to UStream immediately after the match to give
our impressions, get fan reaction, and consider what has changed since last week in Kansas City.
Thanks for listening.
Jared and I have decided to take get together for a special edition of the American Soccer Show
tonight at 6:30 PM ET/3:30 PM PT. There's a lot to talk about in the wake of the US performance
against Guadaloupe, and we'll check the confidence of the fans ahead of Sunday's quarterfinal match
with Jamaica.
- Jason Davis Saturday's performance was a disgusting display from a team ill-prepared and
undermanned. So what does it mean? What was Bob thinking? What was US SOCCER thinking? Why was the
United States playing Spain just a few days ahead of the start of the Gold Cup? Money talks, of
course.
- Jason Davis If only soccer had a 007. Jared and I hit just three topics this week, topics that
require a significant investment of time an energy to cover properly. First up, after we cover my
superhuman ability to avoid getting a nickname, is Bob Bradley's Gold Cup roster. It wasn't
necessarily what we expected from Bob, so Jared and I go down the full list giving our thumbs up or
down on every choice.
- Jason Davis It's the Rise and Shine edition of The American Soccer Show. Jared and I set aside
just enough time to cover the major happenings of the week wrapped around a chat with one of the
people behind a soccer movie all of us should want to see released to wide distribution. First
things first.
- Jason Davis Another American Soccer Show, another 80's movie reference. This is what we do. As
usual, we complement our pop culture inanity with some quality soccer coverage. Since we've avoided
bringing up "Mannequin" to this point in the show's history, it looks like we're doing okay. Jared
and I start out talking about the Karate Kid and an impromptu "wax on, wax off" dance the Rodius
does during the open.
- Jason Davis
This is a momentous American Soccer Show if ever there was one. Jared and I cover all of the
pertinent American soccer news while making references to Jim J. Bullock and shameless pleas to
Bill Simmons, but the real story is the end of the era of The Ginge.
We don't start there, of course.
Grant Wahl is everywhere at the moment, from Bloomberg TV and CNN International, to BBC and
international outlets of the soccer/football variety. He was also kind enough to give me some of
his time to talk about his candidacy for the presidency of FIFA, a conversation that covered just
how serious this thing is, how making himself the story fits with his role at SI, the various
planks of his platform (including the two women he believes are qualified to be General Secretary),
and the response to his bid from around the world.
Proof-Jason Davis
Somewhat unintentionally, Jared and I turned Episode 61 into a Twitteriffic show. The microblogging
service popped up several times throughout the week, leading to a theme we couldn't get away
from.
We start, however, by meeting Jared's alter ego, Reginald Merriweather.
- Jason Davis
MLS camps have only just gotten underway, and First Kick isn't for another five weeks, but Jared
and I had plenty to talk about. American soccer just keeps on giving.
For some reason we start with Jared's fascination with Oregon Trail being on Facebook. Never before
have people been so excited to die of virtual cholera.
- Jason Davis
Here's you dose of audio goodness for this week. Jared and I reconvene to hit the biggest stories
of the last week. This show sets a new record for nonsense, and includes the first ever instance of
singing on the podcast.
We start by talking about Archer for some reason, and make a decision on which American player is
most like the world's greatest secret agent.
-Jason Davis
Here's your new American Soccer Show, with the obvious subjects covered plus a little more.
Jared and I start out on USA-Chile, covering our impressions of the match and the players that
stood out (both good and bad). We hit the negatives first, then move on to the good things we saw
and what they might mean for the future.
-Jason Davis
We've got a completely packed American Soccer Show set to record today, and I thought it might be
worth it to stream it live for those interested.
Jared was out at the USA-Chile match and collected some excellent post-game audio. We'll hit all of
the talking points from the game, review the tapes, and consider the winners and losers.
-Jason Davis
The new show has been out for 24 hours. I forgot to post it here because my brain function dropped
to tree stump-like levels while my body fought off an infection of unknown origin, though I'm
pretty sure it's Baltimore's fault. Jared and I hit all the big stories, including the SuperDraft,
USMNT camp, Americans abroad moving about, Garber's hints about a Cascadia jamboree, and more.
Throwing up the new American Soccer Show a little early here, just in case you need something to
close out your weekend.
Jared DuBois (follow the guy on Twitter, you won't be disapppointed) fills in for The Ginge. We hit
the USMNT January camp, Americans moving and being pushed down the depth chart abroad, MLS combine
thoughts with Travis Clark of MLSsoccer.
