Can you imagine how not-hopeless RBNY would be if only they were allowed to sign all these kids
from Jersey? They would A) have talented youth for days and B) corner the market on players whose
name ends in vowel. Add alleged Napoli-deserter and U.S. U-20 striker Vincenzo Bernardo to the list
with Rossi, Szetela, Duka and all of the other NJ boys that with a real youth system would maybe
make NY the Arsenal of MLS.
Damn 'Los. How the E! Network found out about you I don't know but I'll have to give you props for
getting Jenn Sterger, the FSU cowgirl, all worked up. If being number 6 on the sexy athlete list
will get you that kind of attention, I can't be mad at that; I dare to dream about what riches the
number one spot brings.
Q: Why doesn't Charlie Davies do this dance after he scores (like the two he put past Bordeaux
today)?
A: Probably because he knows it sucks compared to "The Carlton".
My dude Leroi just pointed out to me that our DaMarcus is diversifying his sh*t and getting into
the diamond game. And why not? If he didn't do it, you know EJ would have.
Frankencooper's doing it big isn't he? Or as big as you can in the German second division.
1. Eddie Johnson will not make the bench.
2. Second-tier leagues are their own worst enemies and will always implode.
3. Freddy Adu will be passed around Europe like a joint at a Phish show.
4. DaMarcus Beasley will be injured regularly as long as he stays with Rangers.
5.
Talk about being in the right place at the right time. Some lucky sod had front row seats for
Deuce's goal against Amkar Perm in the Europa League last week and got some up close and personal
footage of the goal and the celebration. Some damn close seats in England, aren't they?
The October issue of City Magazine, the official glossy mag of Hull City AFC, has a nice,
semi-exclusive interview with Jozy Altidore that you should check out if you've got the time and
inclination. I say semi-exclusive because they've given it over to TheOffside.com so it's not
really as exclusive as they say it is.

width="496" height="409" //abr /br /FIFA.com had a sit down with Baby Bradley recently where he
discussed playing in Europe, his brace against Mexico, his transfer from Metrostars to Heerenveen
and other things that professional athletes talk to reporters about.
When trying to sell a sports team to potential investors, you should probably get beyond the first
two minutes of the presentation before you mention that the team in question is "a team that
has one of the worst records in all of professional sports" (see the video below). But when
the team is the subject of an interesting public ownership scheme/BBC reality show you're probably
not too hung up on doing things as they have been done before.
The last time Hammarby striker Charlie Davies was seen around these parts he was ballin' outta
control with our Sacha & a few of the other boys out in Vegas. His most recent trip out to the
American West probably doesn't involve nearly as much alcohol & gambling though since it's for a
national team camp at the HDC (but to be fair, if he were in camp for Italy it might be a different
story).
Remember Bobby Convey? I'm not trying to be funny when I say that I completely forgot that he's at
Reading. But I bet I would think of him more often if he were at San Jose. I hope it's just gossip
though; hopefully he can hang on in England until he can be Philly's first signing.
Eddie Johnson is getting playing time in Europe and Gooch is on the bench? First the Fat Boys break
up now this? There just ain't nothin' you can believe in anymore.
The former Rev talks with Andrew Hush about the Danish direction that his life has taken.
Washington state's second most famous keeper has a new job and it is not at Pep Boys.
Janusz with the run down Jozy, Charlie "Chuck D." Davies, Carlos Blackmouth and a few of the other
Americans that have been outsourced to Europe. How come they never include any of the guys playing
in Mexico in these things? Jose Torres, I see you baby.
I ain't gonna lie: I didn't even watch this clip.
I meant to link to this the other day but was too busy being infectiously ill to do: ESPN The
Magazine's cautionary tale of Americans Outsourced To Europe™ written by Luke Cyphers and
starring Run DMB and Mo Edu. Aptly titled "Be Careful What You Wish For" it's good, insightful
stuff about the trials and tribulations of being a player/playa abroad and how things can go from
classy to ashy real quick.
Ever heard of this kid Colin Burns? I've never heard of him but apparently he's an American player
who's been outsourced to Europe. He's played for a team that sound's like a curry (Olimpia
Bălţi), one that could be a knock-off soft drink from the Carter era (Sepsi-78) and one
that appears to be the name of an Olympic medalist from eastern Europe (Kokkolan Palloveikot).
Forgive the brievity and ghetto-ness (i.e. Lack of accompanying photo) of this post but I'm dong it
on iPhone. I'm on a bus right now and have recieved 2 emails and a text confirming that Big Kenny
is on his way to Munich 1860. Happy for the dude but bummed...what other reason is there to watch
FC Dallas now?
See it and believe it. It may only be Hull but our kid is now officially an EPL striker (barring a
work permit crisis). Anyone fancy adding one of these to thier kit collection?
H/T to SBI.
Looks like Janusz and the boys are looking to cut in on some Yanks Abroad's action. This week it's
a spot of compare and contrast with Charlie Davies and Timmy "I had the worst season-opener ever"
Howard.
...til Tim Howard catches all those balls. Awwww keep, keep, keep, keep, keep, keep, keep.
They say Benny Feilhaber is having a breakout year for both club & country. Who's they you say?
SBI. As I have no idea what the hell he's doing in Denmark --and let's be honest here, without
actually seeing his games on TV who does-- I'll just take their word for it. As for his performance
with the nats I'd say he has been quite good but not standout to me; I think if I were "Blue Eyes"
Bradley I would start Stu Holden ahead of him in Dempsey absence and maybe bring him in off the
bench late tomorrow night.
Apparently feeling nostalgic for the year 2004 and all those Campbell's soup ads, the Beeb got all
Tweet-stalker and tracked down The Biggest Midget in the Game™. It's servicable piece but that's
probably all you can get when your "interview" is conducted via fax. Still, it's worth a read if
only to remind you that Freddy is A) still talented and that B) his lack of playing time may not be
entirely his fault.
Jermaine Jones hasn't even suited up for the U.S. yet but for some he has already arrived; he's now
got a mixtape out entitled "Jermaine Jones: The New American Destroyer" by GAGNEnBRIERE. It may be
a little premature since he hasn't even been called up yet but if we're all being honest with
ourselves this is probably the most footage the majority of us have seen of him actually playing.
Yanks Abroad has a nice Q&A with former Goat/sometime Ben Olsen lookalike/current TuS Koblenz
forward Matt Taylor. All of the questions are reader submitted and worthy of your time. Unless you
are just coming back to the real world today and have 459 new emails in your inbox and just don't
have the time.
Janusz and one of those guys with a British accent talk Jozy's debut, Charlie Davies and Gooch's
place in the defensive pecking order at AC Milan. Watch it with someone you love...like Jack
Daniels.
Is it ironic that Soccernet only uses foreigners to discuss Americans playing overseas?
Part 2 of US Soccer's peek behind the USMNT curtain while on the road to World Cup 2010. And in
case you missed part 1 it can be found here.
"Dude WTF? Mo Over There Wild'n." That is how our man FERENGI® put it in an email this afternoon
and it seems like a fairly accurate description. It seems that the former TFCer has quickly become
something of a Scots tabloid favorite despite seeing little of the field. Yes America, we truly
have arrived on the world stage.
No? Not yet? Well here you go then. Chuck Culpepper of "Bloddy Confused"-fame caught up with The
Boy King of New York & Jersey™ over a Trans-Atlantic telephone line and turned in a tale of
imported BMW's, late-night Lakers games on TV and the American dream. If you have the time or don't
feel like working, give it a read at LATimes.
Jozy was late to his own game? Dude better start rolling like this if he wants to get out of the
manager's dog house and on to the field any time soon.
