Landon Donovan made his first appearance in an official match in Europe in four years on Tuesday and while he did not score,the appearance was still significant.

Donovan played 23 minutes in Bayern Munich's 5-1 blowout win over VfB Stuttgart in DFB Pokal (Germany's nation-wide tournament) action on Tuesday.

U.S. national team midfielder Michael Bradley played his first club match in almost a month, starting and going the full 90 minutes in Borussia Moenchengladbach's 1-0 victory vs. Duisburg in the German League Cup action on Tuesday.

Bradley, who had not played for Moenchengladbach since being subbed out at halftime of a loss to Werder Bremen on Aug.

Amongst the midweek action, Carlos Bocanegra and Rennes reached the Coupe de France final after defeating Grenoble 1-0 on Tuesday. Bocanegra, who typically plays left back for the French club, played centrally in the game that saw Rennes reach the cup final for the first time in 38 years.
