Depending on whom you believe, David Beckham is either set to make a dent on the Paris-St.
Germain payroll or is still very much a free agent.
Despite front-page reports in France that Beckham has signed an 18-month deal with PSG, people
in his camp have strongly denied that a deal has been completed.

It's amazing what a change in coaches can do. Just three weeks after Thomas Rongen (yeah, the same
guy who coached the Mutiny, Revolution and Chivas in MLS and the US U20s) took over for American
Samoa, they notched their first win... ever. And to follow up that 'miracle', they drew Cook Island
1-1 after they scored an own goal in a game which they dominated for extended periods of time.

If you'd heard of the American Samoa national football team before this week, there's likely
only one reason: Australia. A few years back, they took a beating that would leave even a ginger
stepchild quaking in their boots at 31-0. They're also the joint-worst team in all the world. But
in a successful effort to stave off symmetry, they won what was to be #31 earlier this week, then
drew against the Cook Islands today in their WCQ, keeping them undefeated in two.

Juan Mata's seen** Ronaldinho's video. Have you? **Actually, Juan was at the ATP Tour Finals at the

vid. It seemed fitting. Image: Julian Finney/Getty Images.
The week started as a soap opera, segued gently through fantasy into fashion commentary before

Having been the laughing stock of world football for many years, the tiny Pacific nation of
American Samoa is just one step away from progressing beyond the first stage of 2014 FIFA World Cup
qualifying following a good start to their campaign.
Rock bottom of the FIFA World Rankings over the last few years and having failed to win a single
competitive match for 17 years, American Samoa began their first stage campaign on Tuesday by
defeating Tonga by two goals to one with Ramin Ott and Shalom Luani getting on the score sheet.

Victory, at last Just 10 years ago American Samoa were a footballing joke after being mauled 31-0
by Australia in a World Cup qualifier, a result that still stands as the most one-sided full
international in history. And frankly their entire international record hasn't been much of a party
either with the Pacific side managing [.
