If a picture says a thousand words, then this video says an amount that I can't even try to
calculate. Props to the American Outlaws in Lincoln, Nebraska. We were all right there with
you.
Major League Soccer is rounding out 2010 with a series of "Best of..." awards and fans of the
United States National Team (including many, many of our compatriots in the American Outlaws) were
honored with the "Celebration of the Year" for their captured-by-video ecstasy following Landon
Donovan's dramatic late winner against Algeria in the World Cup.

So I just got home from today's 2-1 win by the U.S. over Turkey here in Philly. My buddy's car
broke down, so I caught the train home, and that told me a bit about how much excitement there is
for the upcoming World Cup. On my half of the train car, there were U.
This afternoon's much anticipated match between England and the United States ended in a draw.
USA will continue with a higher level of confidence, while the English are left trying to figure
out just what happened.
Just four minutes into the game, Steven Gerrard found himself in front of the U.
Here was the scene inside Johnny's Tavern with the American Outlaws and friends today as Donovan
scored the game winner and then as the final whistle sounded. Thanks to Wizards sponsorship dude
Jeff Foster, who quickly snagged this video with his spiffy new HTC EVO 4G device from our partners
Sprint.
Tonight, the U.S. Men's National Team begins its two-game send off series with a tough test against
the Czech Republic in Hartford, Connecticut. The game begins at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN (the mothership,
not ESPN 2) and Galavision, with a 30-minute pre-game show on ESPN. The KC chapter of American
Outlaws is hosting a watch party at Johnny's Tavern in the Power and Light District if you want to
watch with other big US Soccer fans.

Like many of you, I'm really looking forward to the World Cup.
A few weeks ago, I wrote a piece about an outdoor viewing party in Seattle. Looks like such an
event will be taking place in Nord Alley, which is near Occidental Park in Pioneer Square. I'm
still working on getting better information, but it looks like all the 11:30 a.
Right this very moment, we're 1 WEEK from the start of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The tournament
you've been looking toward for the last three years and 11 months is about to begin. Tomorrow is
one of the final days for pre-World Cup friendlies. The action begins bright and early with a 7:30
a.m. CT match between the USA and Australia.
I was up at 6 a.m. today so that I could make the 7 a.m. kickoff for the Mexico-South Africa
match, and still had to wait in line to get into Fremont's George & Dragon. Fun atmosphere, though.
Awesome bloody-Mary's, as always. The only bad news? Apparently G&D won't open until about 6 a.m.
Saturday (South Korea-Greece isn't a big draw, I guess).
Private and public parties were held throughout the Twin Cities on Saturday to watch the US
Men's National Team play England in a 2010 FIFA World Cup first round game. The game was much hyped
by the media since it marked the first time the two teams had played each other since the famous
1950 1-0 win over England which was played in Brazil.
Another great crowd came out this morning for the USA vs Slovenia Group C match. After drawing a
standing-room only crowd last Saturday for the game against England, today's match was counted at
92 and it was as lively as the last one. With a wide range of fans, from the new American Outlaws
US fan group (pictured) to the three largest club programs in the area, including Springfield SC,
Total Demize SC and the newly renamed Legends (formerly FC Springfield).

What a goal!!!! Farmers Gastro pub went nuts! People in bars, people sitting at their cubes
watching espn3, people on their iphone's, Sam's army supporters, the American Outlaws, soccer moms,
non-soccer fans nationwide all joined together and screamed with excitement as Landon Donovan
scored.
Hey! Where am I? Oh, yeah....Built to honor the Polish General who helped the colonists defeat the

Tomorrow night, the U.S. Men's National Team kicks off preparations for the 2010 FIFA World Cup
with a "friendly" against also-qualified Honduras at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA. The match
has the potential to feature up to three Wizards players, as Jimmy Conrad and Kevin Hartman are in
U.S. camp and Roger Espinoza is in Honduras camp.
After last nights two amazing events scheduled around the US MNT's "performance" you'd think you
are done with soccer parties this week.
You would be wrong.
You may have heard that Jose Romero is leaving the Seattle TImes, and in fact leaving the state.
He has decided to host a gathering where he will just hang out with the fans that made his first
season as a soccer reporter so much fun.
Our good friend Matthew over at The Shin Guardian has declared today, April 6th, Charlie Davies
Awareness Day. With videos, comments of support and the backing of blogs such as The Yanks Are
Coming and Soccer By Ives, today is already a huge success, but can be even more so with your
backing. Here's a portion of what Matthew wrote about today: A few months ago The American
Outlaws, The Shin Guardian, and most importantly, you reached out when Chuck Davies.
This week, Jason and Zach are back with impressions from the MLS weekend, notes on Dempsey and
Fulham, opinions the new USA home jersey, an interview with American Outlaws president Korey
Donahoo, thoughs on the 30-man USMNT roster, and reactions to Bradley's quotes on the fortunes of
Charlie Davies.
Another big week to cover via podcast, and it's an on-remote Ginge and I to do so. MLS, Dempsey and
Fulham, USA jerseys, American Outlaws president Korey Donahoo, Bradley on Davies, 30-man roster,...
There's not yet an Austin chapter of the American Outlaws U.S. National Team supporters' group,
but there will be soon. The membership effort is being spearheaded by our own Dan "Free Beer Man"
Wiersema. I've heard some of the plans and partnerships that are already in the works for Austin AO
members; it's going to be huge.
In case you didn't know, it's going off in The Constitution State; American Outlaws are going hard.
So the tailgate in Hartford the other day was quite entertaining (read: boozy) and the one in
Philly seems like it's going to be even more buckwild with boatloads of fans (at least the ones I
have heard from) opting to represent at the Saturday game as opposed to a Tuesday night game.
Here's a taste of the tomfoolery in Lot 9 prior to the Czech Republic game with your host Brent G.

for Saturday morning before the US National Team game against England. He asked me to let everyone
know about it in case they want to take advantage of this. Please Email Nick.
Pre-Game Pub Crawl USA VS.
Normally I focus on the Wizards or other KC related soccer news. I'm stepping away from that a bit.
Tomorrow the USA open the 2010 World Cup with a match up against England. It's likely one of the
most intriguing matches of the first round of the World Cup mainly due to the two team's meeting in
1950, largely regarded as one of the biggest upsets in World Cup history.
I told you the games are coming thick and fast. And here we are again: Austin will host the
Vancouver Whitecaps tonight at 7:30 at House Park.
Vancouver (4-2-4) is in first place in the NASL Conference, although they'd be third in the
league standings overall. They are also on a busy schedule: while the Aztex were slugging out the
0-0 draw with Portland on Wednesday, the Whitecaps were battling the Carolina Railhawks to a 1-1
draw in Vancouver (match report/box score).
At the Summer of Soccer Watch Party at Power And Light's Living Room...A tiny portion of the crowd
at Johnny's Tavern...Half time in the Living Room...A view from the back...The Summer of
Soccer....A few more photos...Johnny's Tavern was the official watch party site of the American
Outlaws. It was a madhouse in there and I did not get many photos from the inside.
Thad posted a video from inside Johnny's Tavern in Power & Light the other day at The Back Post.
Below is another video from inside the packed house for the USA-England game. Johnny's is the
official watch party spot of the American Outlaws. They know how to have fun...join us and them
Friday morning inside Johnny's or the Living Room area for USA-Slovenia.
Everyone who has come down so far already knows, but the entire USA is about to realize that our
Power & Light watch parties are among the best in the country. From the Living Room area to the
American Outlaws-run Johnny's Tavern, the whole place is hoppin'. For a full rundown of the events
going on tomorrow, read the excerpt from our last press release:
Saturday will be a busy day for
Kansas City soccer fans, as the Wizards host a huge Summer of Soccer World Cup watch party for the
USA-Ghana Round of 16 match at 1 p.

World Cup fever swept the country on Saturday. When the USA-Ghana game ended, there was silence at
the Globe Pub in Chicago and then a cheer for the defeated Americans. It was a scene repeated at
bars across the country.
At the Highbury Pub in Milwaukee, Chris Engel, who recently helped start a Milwaukee chapter of the
American Outlaws, said he was proud of how the Americans played and hoped fans would stick behind
the team.

Tonight at the Home Depot Center, Chivas USA and Pachuca do battle in what will be the final
group game for both clubs. Neither team will have a chance to advance despite the result tonight,
but as this is the final warm up before Pachuca's Mexican season, Chivas USA will provide a test
for the Tuzos.

Another nail-biter; another point for the Aztex. Despite a few handicaps, our Austin team put up
a heck of a fight, and didn't come up empty-handed for their trouble.
My two cents:
We've already penned quite a little ditty in honor of retiring Fire forward Brian McBride, but we
are upping the ante for the former USMNTer.
During the National Team friendly against Poland on October 9th, along with the American Outlaws
and the great American soccer publication The Shin Guardian, we're organizing a tribute for the
tailsman in his professional team's backyard, Chicago.
Are you serious? Yup. Take that to the bank.
I wasn't going to write about U.S. National Team coach Bob Bradley. Nothing. Nada. Not a single
word. The Free Beer Movement site isn't really the place that most people come for U.S. news and
analysis. Frankly we're not particularly good at it. We cover the cultural aspect of American
soccer.
