Hooligans in Rochester Have a Ball

The Rochester chapter of the American Outlaws (AO) sponsored the first annual Western New York Soccer Supporters Ball, held at Matt Wambach's infamous Back Nine Grill in Rochester, New York Saturday evening.

This may seem a little preemptive, but the American Outlaws are selling tickets in the Supporters Section for the semifinals and finals of the Olympic qualifiers at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park on March 31st and April 2nd. The tickets are $30 for AO members and $35 for non-members. No word yet from Sporting KC on whether season ticket holders will get a chance at a presale for the game as well or not.

This month, American Outlaws is hosting a chant contest for fans of the U.S. National Teams.
In an effort linked to the AO Act Above Campaign and U.S. Soccer's Respect Campaign, the goal of the contest is to unite and strengthen U.

This past Sunday South Florida Soccer fans met up at Mickey Byrnes Irish Pub in Hollywood to watch the MLS Cup Final between the L.A. Galaxy and the Houston Dynamo. For more on the game go HERE
Just prior to the watch party the Ultras organized their 1st ever PS3 FIFA '12 tournament led by Mitch Rivera (Twitter: @mrivera2010 ) A total of 8 players showed up on time to be included in the roster (A few others were left out for not showing up on time).

I read a status update on my friend's Facebook page the other day and it read something of the sort, "On My Way to Comic Con 2011".
I will be honest, the first thought that ran through my head was, "Man, what a total NERD!" And then after a few minutes I pondered a couple of things.

In what could be the most epic or disastrous move in the history of American soccer road-trips, the American Outlaws have chartered a large, 737-type plane to ferry its most hardcore and cash-flush members from the United States to Brazil for the 2014 World Cup.
I love my Yanks and a good awayday as much as the next guy but I'm not sure that I could personally take a 10-14 hour international flight full of booze, rampant patriotism, people applying for their Mile High Club membership in the toilets and the same 5 songs being sung over & over again in a small contained space.

The haters of Miami as a soccer town were out in full force last week as it was announced that fewer than 6800 tickets had been sold for the USA vs Honduras game to be played at Sun Life Stadium. The game hadn't even been played yet and already they were bashing.
In the end over 21,000 showed up on a wet night to watch the United states defeat Honduras 1-0 thanks to a wonderful goal by Clint Dempsey.

As the United States men's national team gets ready for their showdown with Honduras this Saturday 8th at 6 PM (Tickets still available!) South Florida American Outlaws and all fans of the beautiful (including the Miami Ultras) game were honored to spend some time with forward Jozy Altidore, a one time South Florida resident.
