First Star: Tim Howard needed three saves and a 42nd minute goal from Louis Saha to see off
Portsmouth 1-0 on Saturday, but it wasn't an easy win. "I think that was the hardest I've had to
work for a clean sheet this season," Howard told the club's official site. "It was a tough game,
not just for myself but all of us because we were under a lot of pressure.

First Star: Michael Orozco grabbed the second goal in San Luis's rollover of Chivas, winning 4-0 at
home. Alfredo Moreno put San Luis up in the 33rd and Michael Orozco doubled that three minutes
later. Chivas lost Hector Reynoso to a red card in the 61st, and San Luis took advantage with two
more goals.
It's a quick update for the Tuesday games, with no Americans seeing the field in three games.
Oguchi Onyewu wasn't in the squad for Milan's Champions League opener, a 2-1 win at Olympique
Marseilles's Stade Velodrome. Filippo Inzaghi had both goals for Milan. In the Championship, Frank
Simek was on the bench for Sheffield Wednesday's 3-1 home loss to Middlesbrough.
First Star: Tim Howard shutout Blackburn Rovers and his Everton offense hit for three goals in a
strong showing on Sunday after playing midweek in Europe. Louis Saha scored in the 22nd and 54th.
Joseph Yobo finished off the scoring four minutes later. Everton manager David Moyes was all praise
for Saha, saying: "We signed Louis when we were very short of forwards through injury, and he had
been having his own injury problems.
According to Bursaspor's official site, contract issues prevented them from completing their move
for Heath Pearce. With the transfer window now closed, Pearce remains out of contract. Original

Chicago Fire and US National Team forward Chris Rolfe will be joining Danish SuperLiga club Aalborg
when the transfer window reopens in January. "This is a good time for this, because we are in a
good position for the playoffs, and I know Chris wants to win a championship with us," Fire
technical director Frankie Klopas said.
Michael Bradley returned to Borussia Moenchengladbach's starting eleven for the second round of the
DFB Pokal, but the club is no longer in the German Cup after losing 1-0 to Duisburg. Kristoffer
Andersen scored in stoppage time to send the visitors to the next round. David Yelldell went the
full 120 for TUS Koblenz, needing overtime to see off Energie Cottbus 4-2.
US National Team and Watford defender has recovered from the groin injury he suffered during
preparations for the US World Cup Qualifier in Utah a few weeks ago, but he has an eye injury that
could require surgery. "It was a freak thing," Demerit told Yanks-Abroad.com. "We were in our hotel
and as I took out my contact, I cut my eye and I ended up getting an infection from that cut.
Everton rolled over AEK Athens on Thursday, winning 4-0 with goals from Joseph Yobo (10th), Sylvain
Distin (17th), Steven Pienaar (37th), and Jo (82nd). Tim Howard needed one save for the shutout,
but the end of the game didn't go as smoothly. With Athens playing a man down from the 55th when
Carlos Araujo was sent off, Everton was also shown red in stoppage time.
A big game for Kenny Cooper in Germany's DFB Pokal. Cooper had 1860 Munich's second goal in the
50th, doubling their lead over Hertha Berlin after Rasmus Bengtsson put the ball into the back of
his own net in the 10th. Cooper left the game for Alexander Ludwig in the 68th minute. Hertha would
come back, with Gustavo Ramos scoring in the 76th and Valeri Domovchiyski forcing overtime three
minutes later.
Benny Feilhaber and Jeremiah White both saw time for AGF Aarhus in their 3-2 loss to Esbjerg.
Feilhaber started and went the full ninety, while White was an 82nd-minute substitute. An Esbjerg
own-goal put Aarhus up in the 14th minute, with Tim Janssen equalizing in the 20th and putting
Esbjerg up in the 39th.
