AC Milan has had good times and bad times under Silvio Berlusconi. The Italian prime minister has brought trophies and success to the rossoneri, but he has also dragged Milan into times of little money and negative results. This current period can't be described as a prosperous one for AC Milan, old players, a new coach, and little money to spend has hurt the red half of Milan results-wise, but now Berlusconi has announced his plans for the club.

AC Milan didn't exactly have a disappointing season, they just didn't achieve much. And while the team is full of very old players (remember Oddo?), there is a project in place, this project starts with Allegri, a new, relatively young, and attacking coach. While maybe this upcoming season might not be the best for the rossoneri, the seasons to follow could be more successful.

I know, the Italy Offside has been pretty dead recently and I haven't really added new posts. But you know this tournament called the World Cup has been going on and it's been pretty interesting. So I've been paying attention to that, and let's be honest, most people are. Sure Serie A clubs are still making moves and trying to solve things for next season, but nothing really serious is going on, and nothing big will happen until probably mid-July when this whole World Cup thing comes to an end and pre-season training begins.

Interesting predicament arising in the peninsula. Brazilian goalkeeper Rubinho, the owner of Serie A's most famous uni-brow, is in the middle of it. Last season, the 27 year old goalkeeper was signed by Palermo after impressive performances at Genoa. However, he didn't live up to expectations and a string of bad performances led to Walter Zenga choosing emerging young talent Salvatore Sirigu as the starting goalkeeper, relegating Rubinho to the bench.

Italy's oldest soccer club finished a disappointing ninth last season, and the management has made it clear this offseason that such a result is unacceptable. Disappointing play by a number of key players left the club outside the top six, one year after qualifying for the UEFA Cup and two years after returning to Serie A after a long climb up the Italian leagues.
