Inter Dejan Stankovic scored with a ridiculous shot from the halfway line off a volley to give
his side a 3-0 lead over Genoa just before the whistle blew for halftime.
The man who set him up for the goal was actually Genoa keeper Marco Amelia, who kicked a poor
clearance directly at him, which Stankovic promptly sent back into the goal.
Some nice goals this week. We're still very early into the season, but two possible goal of the
year candidates were scored this weekend. Samuel Eto'o's strike vs. Parma and
Giandomenico Mesto's screamer vs. Napoli are joys to behold. Goals of the week
after the jump.
Genoa beat rivals Sampdoria 3-0 in a hot tempered Derby della Lanterna, with 3 goals, 3 red
cards, and now 3 consecutive wins for the Rossoblu over the Blucerchiati in the derby. Samp quite
simply never showed up, and really didn't even test Marco Amelia's goal. Antonio Cassano was
clipped every time he touched the ball, and Giampaolo Pazzini couldn't get anything going up
front.
