A student from Southend's South Essex College has been taken to hospital following an incident outside the Luker Road campus at lunchtime (Monday).
It's thought the man received head injuries after becoming involved in an altercation.
According to the Echo, one passer-by reported seeing what he thought was blood pouring from the man's ear.

Police are hunting three men following an armed raid on the Kwik Fit centre on London Road, Southend on Sunday (28 Feb).
At about 4.20pm the men entered the store and threatened a male staff member with a knife after hitting him with what has been described as a silver handgun.
The man was then forced to open the safe and the men made off on foot with around £1,000.

Wilson Mene, an 18 yr old Nigerian striker with Prek Pra Keila in the Metfone Cambodian League died whilst playing at the Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh on Saturday.
He collapsed 25 minutes into the game and despite quick medical attention on the pitch and in the ambulance he was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

It was a sad day in Italy when a 51-year-old male fan from Cesano Maderno went into cardiac arrest at the Milan Derby this past weekend.

From the reports, it appears that he was sitting down and observing the event. Medical personnel tried to revive him at the stadium but he ultimately was pronounced dead in the ambulance.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a road crash in Westcliff.
The collision happened when a blue Ford Mondeo struck traffic lights outside a fire station at the junction between Mountdale Gardens and Prittlewell Chase at 8:30am today (May 14th).
Fire crews raised the alarm, while administering first aid to the man.

Holland gaffer Bert van Marwijk fears Dirk Kuyt could face a long spell in the physion room after the Liverpool player picked up an ankle injury in the 4-1 win over Sweden.

Kuyt lasted just 28 minutes of the Euro 2012 qualifier and was taken to hospital in an ambulance with what looked a serious injury.
