Despite all the talk about the potential effect of the loss of van Persie or other players like
Song and Walcott to injury (to Arsenal's ambitions), Arsene Wenger has still ruled out signing
players to back up the key men in the January transfer window. "At the moment, I do nothing in
January," he said.
Repercussions of Luis Suárez case could be far-reaching for Liverpool
• Ruling will hit Liverpool's tilt for Champions League spot • Luther Blissett raises
prospect of legal action Kenny Dalglish said recently that he did not measure Luis Suárez's value
to Liverpool in terms of goals and you could not dispute his argument.
Ian Rush played alongside Kenny Dalglish in the 1980s, and was later worked under him during the
King's first spell in charge at Anfield. Clearly, Rushie is in a unique position to know exactly
what Kenny brings to the club.
Rush, who doesn't appear to have any management ambitions of his own, is happy to see that one of
Liverpool's key principles is being upheld:
"What Kenny brings to the club is the thought that no one is bigger than the team, but he does that
without hurting any of the players' sentiments".
The sound of sharpening knives is in the air at St James Park this afternoon, but they're not
for Alan Pardew. Newcastle United arrive here for the final match of the trilogy that will go some
way towards determining whether their early season league position was due to the order of their
league fixtures.
Kenny Dalglish hopes for luck to stay on Liverpool's side at Fulham
• Liverpool looking to equal club record run of seven away wins • 'We've had the luck away
that helps you go over the line' Kenny Dalglish has described Liverpool as a "work in progress" and
pinned their impressive away form on the good fortune he claims has been lacking at Anfield.

Oh dear, oh dear. That really didn't go to plan did it? 'Twas a quiet evening in Manchester last
night as it conspired that both of the city's sides will be playing knock-down, B-stock, factory
damaged Europa League football in the new year after being sent sprawling from the Champions League
in acrimonious fashion United especially, at the very least City actually won on the night.
QPR's Neil Warnock calls on FA to protect Liverpool's Luis Suárez
• QPR manager makes a stand against fans' abuse • Liverpool striker scores first league goal
since 1 October Ability and antics have polarised opinion on Luis Suárez but also shifted focus
from the aspect of his game that was indisputable against Queens Park Rangers.
Grant Wahl, failed candidate for the FIFA presidency and writer at SI.com on all things football
has listed all 19 MLS franchises in order of perceived ambitions. Not surprisingly, LA is #1,
followed by Seattle and NY. Not surprisingly either, our beloved Revs are last.
Here is the commentary that follows the Revs entry:
No fan base sends me more complaints about its own team ownership
than New England's.
People may have questions about Liverpool's goal scoring record and their top four ambitions, but
there is one thing that is clear for all to see: Liverpool are the top dogs when it comes to
defending. When a relegation threatened ...

Peterborough's preseason ambitions were probably quite different to ours – consolidating their
Championship status after battling up from League One again, and whilst we may have harboured
loftier ambitions, they are currently a cool seven points clear of the drop zone whilst we retain
our place within the dreaded bottom three.
Florent Malouda isn't happy with his current bit-part role at Chelsea. He's ready to reevaluate
life in London, and apparently is weighing potential moves should his ambition not be met.
Is any of this shocking? Not really.
Not of the avant-garde
Malouda spoke of recent frustration with his lack of match time after Monday's 1-1 draw with
Fulham.
Trouble is brewing for Andres Villas-Boas and Chelsea after a number of poor performances have
left them out of the title race and raised concerns from players who are willing to quit the club
if their pleas are not addressed.
Truth be said, the longer Villas-Boas stays in charge the worse it gets for Chelsea and as a
matter of fact, he should be replaced as quickly as possible (however unlikely this may be).
I shook my head in disbelief when I read an interview with Florent Malouda featured in The
Telegraph. Malouda, who has struggled to reach anywhere his best form for two seasons now is quoted
as saying:
"I'm not getting enough playing time, It's too limited for the ambitions I
have.
Not having the amount of playing time which he would've wanted apparently bring a little
disappointment for Chelsea's Florent Malouda, who revealed that he still have strong desire to have
a much more important role that what his having at the moment.
The French international went on "threatening" to leave the club if nothing is changing pretty
soon as he does have several offers coming even in this upcoming winter transfer market.

With only days remaining until the January transfer window opens, club owners and managers are
readying their chequebook and pens (real ones, mind, not the Blankety Blank variety), as they
prepare to make those vital signings to bolster a title tilt or save themselves from a relegation
dogfight.
