Despite reports linking Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic with a move to Real Madrid this morning, it would appear the move won't be happening.

We've seen some pretty outrageous claims so far this summer, but The Sun has perhaps suggested the most unbelievable transfer claim thus far. They are reporting that Arsenal striker Robin van Persie is a target of - wait for it - Manchester United.

Sir Alex Ferguson is apparently watching the van Persie situation unfold with a very keen eye, and The Sun reports that Fergie could make a cheeky bid for the "£20 million rated striker.

I think Adebayor and Tevez hired the same PR person. It would have been refreshingly honest, if just for once they said it was all about the money. But on cue its never about that.
