Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins has revealed an agreement is in place to stop newly-appointed
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers signing players from his former club for 12 months.
"We have got some protection on Brendan coming back for our players in the initial period, which I
think is the right thing," Jenkins told Talksport.
As you will know, this is a blog about Arsenal. Hence the name.
Obviously I have a keen interest in all things Arsenal. I want the the club to do well, to win
things, to compete and to sign good players. When we sign those players, I will welcome them
(unless they're one of these signings in which case I'll hedge my bets and make a 'this tastes
yukky' face whilst suggesting we should wait and see how they do), and players we don't sign don't
interest me in the slightest.

Some things are hard to understand. A current line that is being used when it comes to Arsenal
is that "we should show some more ambition". And those words are followed by a list of players we
should buy. The more expensive the better is the only thing that seems to matter.
In yesterday's London Evening Standard, Newcastle United's Silver Supremo gave a fairly lengthy and
candid interview to the Standard's Mihir Bose. In it, he spoke of his ambition to replace Roy
Hodgson as the next England manager, and also how he intends to "educate" Newcastle United fans
that we cannot expect to compete in Europe [.
Now as you know, Fernando Torres spoke with Guilleme Ballage the Spanish Football expert on
SkySports and those comments have caused quite a stir yesterday. In a way, Ballage has dampened our
celebrations with the timing of his article but I guess he had no choice due to the content of what
Torres said.
According to a spokesman for the Netherlands national team, Robin van Perise will not be talkkng
with the media during the upcoming European Championships saying:
"We made a deal with Arsenal and he won't talk to the press," a spokesman for the Dutch Football
Association, the KNVB, said.
Fenway Sports Group (FSG) and Liverpool Football Club announced that Kenny Dalglish is to leave
his post today as Manager after having his contract terminated.
After a careful and deliberative review of the season, the Club came to the decision that a
change was appropriate. It is not a decision that was reached lightly or hastily.
Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt has ruled out a return to Feyenoord in the immediate future because he
feels it would be a step back in his career.
Kuyt, 31, is almost certain to leave Anfield this summer after struggling to hold down a first-team
place under manager Kenny Dalglish.
Last month, the Holland international was seen having talks with Feyenoord technical director
Martin van Geel, sparking reports he would sign for the Rotterdam club.

Real Madrid celebrated their 32nd La Liga trophy in the grandest way
possible last night glamour, fireworks, white confetti and an
opera show! You know it isn't a Madrid party unless Placido
Domingo proudly belts out the Madrid anthem in a Los Blancos jersey and the
Three Portuguese Musketeers get onto the microphone.
With the Mayoral elections over, concerns have switched to the next big polls. This week,
Arsenalinsider has been placed alongside some of the most popular blogs out there, as epltalk.com
nominates the site for best club blog award during the 2011/12 season. By Just skimming over the
other nominations, it's apparent that Arsenal FC blogs dominate the list, evidence that Insider is
able to mix it in a competative circle.

Jim Collins, in "Good to Great", wrote the secret of long-term corporate success lies in
cultivating a distinctive set of values. For all the talk of diversity and globalisation, this
usually means promoting from within and putting down deep local roots.
Athletic Bilbao arrived in the Romanian capital of Bucharest for the Europa
League final last night, and in typical Los Leones fashion, there was no 'jet
lag swag' exhibited and they were kind and friendly to everyone. To be fair, it was
really only a four hour flight and it would not make any sense to throw a big fuss.
Just as my own blogging season was in danger of fizzling out, I've decided to rouse myself for
one last push. Two more blog posts and I might just totter over the line. Why haven't I sealed this
sooner though? I can only think it's a confidence thing.
Since I last dipped in here we have drawn at Stoke, a result that is far from calamitous at any
stage of any season, but coming after a loss and a goalless draw it was a result that hardly
kick-started the kind of swashbuckling tone for the rest of the season that I had hoped for.
Just what Spurs needed three points. No alarms, a decent effort that lacked a cutting edge to
convert our massive superiority into more goals but none was needed in response to opponents who
reeked of the sickly unpleasant odour of apathy. And people have said our players don't care. I'm
surprised the Blackburn squad could summon up the effort to climb the stairs of the team coach.
Manchester City's manager, Roberto Mancini, may have slight confidence about his team's chance
of winning the league title this season, but he admitted if they somehow steals it from Manchester
United's hand it would definitely be the coach's best achievement in his whole career.
Mancini believes that taking a side that haven't won anything in years and doesn't really have
any important tradition is much more challenging than leading an already well known team.
Real Madrid star striker Karim Benzema was his team's protagonist on their 2-0 victory over
Sevilla as he scored two goals in the game that made Madrid's La Liga title gets inch closer.
The French international revealed that getting back into winning ways after their elimination
from Europe wasn't easy but everyone at Los Blancos are getting over that disappointment as they
now there's a title at stake just around the corner.
Arsenal failed again to grab the all important three points as their attempt in running away
from their competitors for third place halted again, this time by Stoke City, who held Arsene
Wenger's side 1-1 at Brittania Stadium.
However, their current third place spot is still safe because their closest rival, Newcastle
United were surprisingly trashed by relegation battler, Wigan Athletic, 4-0 at DW Stadium, a
shocking result indeed for Alan Pardew's boys.
Gareth Bale says he'll have to "see what's best for myself" if Spurs don't reach the Champions
League.
A run of one win in nine league games has seen Spurs slip from title challengers to fifth place,
outside the Champions League berths and facing the prospect of a second season of Europa League
football next term.

Athletic Bilbao managed to fulfill their ambition in reaching the Europa League final this
season after successfully turning their 2-1 deficit in the first leg with a 3-1 victory over
Portuguese representatives, Sporting Lisbon, at San Mames stadium.
Marcelo Bielsa's side should be thanking their main striker, Fernando Llorente, for the success
as the Spanish international was the one who netted in the decisive goal only two minutes from
time.
Cristiano Ronaldo is full of confident ahead of Real Madrid's Champions League clash against
Bayern Munich at Santiato Bernebau, but warned his teammates that they must keep a close eye on the
German's attacking players if Los Blancos wants to advance.
Ronaldo acknowledged that the Bundesliga outfit possessed a very strong attacking players, which
could easily decide the outcome of the match, just like what happened in the first meeting.

Two good defenders and the other who will miss the Champions League final
There's just no stopping us. Every day we speak about trophies won. What is becoming of our
club? Robin Van Persie adds the Footballers Writers Award to his PFA one and that makes it 3 for us
this season. Only after listening the Arsecast yesterday, I was reminded that we've already picked
up one earlier for the groundsman of the year.
Tomorrow night's return leg Champions League semi final fixture against Barcelona at the Nou
Camp won't be a walk in the park for Interim coach Roberto Di Matteo.
Despite having a slight advantage over the Catalans, Di Matteo believes that his ageing stars
have what it takes to deny Barcelona a chance to defend their title.
Manchester City's manager, Roberto Mancini, finally gave a little bit positive voice about his
team's chance in beating Manchester United for the premier league title this season after his side
cut down the gap into just three points with the Manchester Derby still to come at Etihad
stadium.
It has been forty-eight years since Coventry City last played in the bottom two divisions of the
Football League. Under the managership of Jimmy Hill, they returned to the Second Division for the
first time in twelve years as champions of the Third Division, and three years later a further
promotion took the club into the First Division for the first time in its history.
Arsenal's failure in beating Chelsea this weekend probably isn't the most disappointing thing
for Arsene Wenger as another injury problem for one of his important players, Theo Walcott, might
be more annoying for the manager.
Having already missing Jack Wilshere from the start of season and also Mikel Arteta, who picked
up an injury against Wigan, the Gunners could also lose Walcott for the remaining of this current
season.
The pretty highly anticipated London derby between Arsenal against Chelsea which us important in
deciding both teams' Champions League spot ended rather disappointingly as no goals were scored in
the game.
It might be a pretty acceptable result for both but that didn't actually pushed their attempt in
acquiring their European ambition, especially for Chelsea who are still stuck at 6th place at the
moment, two place behind the final Champions spot.
Successfully maintaining their four points gap with Barcelona in La Liga after beating Sporting
Gijon on the weekend, Real Madrid are set to really test their strength against Bayern Munich this
Tuesday evening.
Jose Mourinho' side will try to step aside their poor record meeting against Bayern in Germany,
as Mourinho claims that history won't be a determining factor for Los Blancos in that clasch,
considering their ambition in getting through the semifinal is bigger.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has taken a swipe at his side's critics, reminding them that this is
the same team that was panned by detractors at the beginning of the season and that any additions
to the squad will only be decided by the way the current season ends.
As it stands right now, the Gunners have won eight of their last nine Premier League fixtures to
sit five points clear of Tottenham Hotspur in third place.
With the N17 looters having dropped two points on Wearside yesterday the Good Guys find
themselves needing defeat avoidance at the very least to return to third place.
One would hope that the Spuds have over achieved this season on the back of a few decent
performances from their squad semi-evolved simian.

Lets characterize this match as one that you would not choose to introduce anyone to the sport
of soccer. It was a match thick with overall incompetence and incoherence. Still in those
misconstrued passes there was something oddly compelling in the same train-wreckish way Sarah Palin
flunks the most basic of foreign policy questions.

The signing of the season: Mikel Arteta by KJ This summer Arsenal lost three key players from the
midfield. We lost Fabregas due to ambition; we lost Nasri to money and lost Wilshere to injury.

million to [.
Tottenham Hotspurs' failure in winning their game against Stoke City on Wednesday didn't only
cost them two points but also their third spot which has been taken away by city rival Arsenal, who
at the same time beat Everton.
This situation is being acknowledged by Spurs' manager, Harry Redknapp, who is hoping that his
players can pick themselves up again and continue to chase the third place spot which will
guarantee a direct place into Champions League group stage.
