With a new year upon us, the January transfer window will be opening up soon. While normally we
don't see super-stars switch allegiances in this period, but 2011 could be different. The names of
Klose, Toni, Gilardino, and Kaka have been circulating, but can we really expect these players to
move in January?
Juventus have struggled to find any consistency throughout another frustrating season which
currently sees them sit in sixth place in Serie A with Lazio in fourth on 48 points, a full seven
ahead of Juve. There is no point comparing this season's Juve with the last one for a number of
reasons.
As I have mentioned before, this time of the year is a trying one as our emotions sway with every
new rumour that emerges. In the case of rumours linking Cesc Fabregas to a move to Milan, only
excitement tinged with a slight anxiety is felt. Conversely, talk of Amauri being signed by the
club [...]
Liverpool is ready to enter into talks with Juventus about the future of Alberto Aquilani with
striker Amauri also on Damian Comolli's agenda, according to Sky Italia.
Aquilani is currently on loan at the Old Lady and has admitted he is enjoying his time back home
and would relish a permanent move to Turin.
After the sad news that Fabio Quagliarella will be out for the rest of the season, Juventus got
a replacement in record time. It's Luca Toni who will be replacing Quagliarella (out for 4-6 months
with a torn cruciate knee ligament), the World Cup winner leaving Genoa to sign a one and a half
year contract with the bianconeri.

This upcoming weekend gives Juventus a great chance to bounce back from their bad run of
defeats. Having only taken one point in nine the past three matches in the Serie A, Juventus need
to pick themselves up if they want a chance at getting in a Champions League place by the end of
the season.
Earlier this season, even one month ago before the winter break, it seemed as if Juventus had
finally returned as a force in the Serie A. As the most successful club in Italy with more Scudetti
than any other club, it was a welcome return indeed. During the summer Juventus made a number of
signings that have aided in their bid to again be champions of Italy.
Ah the rumor mill. Such a crazy addictive hobby. And it's always a load of rubbish.
The thing that will stir it up more than anything is a massive purchase. Due to the
particularities of January and the desperation of clubs, there tend to be more ridiculous purchases
than during the summer.
Gazzetta dello Sport Ibra-Cassano, merry Milan Balo is treated in America in Tiger's clinic Mancini

A return to Genoa for manager Gigi Del Neri after leaving Sampdoria for Juventus in the summer.
Both teams wasted chances toward the end of the match but and had to accept the 0-0 draw result.
Even the 1 point came with a cost as both sides suffered additional injuries. Things didn't start
well for Juventus as Armand Traore hobbled off after 2 minutes with a muscular problem, he would be
replaced.
In episode 4.1 Adam and Walker travel south to Sicily and welcome Lorenzo Vicini (think I got that
right this time) to the podcast. The boyz discuss all things Palermo as well as the full fixture
list from Match day 21 of Italian Serie A. Lorenzo writes for the Palermo-offside and is dedicated
supporter of the Azzurri as well.

queste due su tutte: Alessandro Matri, bomber del Cagliari, passa alla Juventus in prestito, mentre
l'oriundo Amauri vola a Parma, nelle file dei gialloblu [.

T'was the week that saw the January transfer window slam abruptly shut, but not before you know
what (possibly NSFLiverpoolFans).
We hope you enjoy perusing our sum up of this week's best and worst news yet another
formerly regular feature that's been dubiously neglected by our fickle HQ.
This mid-season transfer window has been exciting! While I expected a couple of minor signings here
and there, I would've never imagined the deals which went on this January. Here's what went on in
the English Premier League, Serie A, and La Liga.
In
England Chelsea were the biggest spenders, snatching
Fernando Torres and
David Luiz for a total sum around 70 million Pounds.

Inter's continual collapse Last season's treble winners have impressed no one in recent weeks.
Losing to relegation-threatened, massively-underachieving Parma made matters far worse for the
Nerazzurri and increased the pressure massively on coach Leonardo. Even more insulting, the two
goalscorers on the weekend were Sebastian Giovinco and Amauri, two attacking players very much
associated with.
Napoli's late season swoon continues as they lost 2-1 away to Palermo, a defeat that ends their
title hopes. The defeat leaves Napoli third, six points behind league leaders AC Milan with four
matches left to play.
The game started perfectly for Napoli as they went ahead from Edinson Cavani's first minute
penalty.
After former Spurs target Giuseppe Rossi ruled him out of any possible move at the weekend, more
names are coming up as possible replacements for some of Tottenham's wayward strikeforce. The
latest in this long line is Amauri, a Brazilian born striker who plays his football in Italy and
has gained one full cap for the Italian national side.
It may not seem so now, but Parma was once a major protagonist in Italian football. After
financial turmoil and relegation a short few years ago, it may seem that the club is a far cry from
the likes of Inter and Milan, but the truth is quite the opposite. As recently as 2002 the side won
the Coppa Italia as well as the UEFA Cup: two competitions in which Parma were regulars in between
the late.

The player we thought we had, and would have liked to have, was Andre-Pierre Gignac. Gignac is
a bit of an enigma: he scored 24 goals in Ligue 1 a couple of seasons back, which is hugely
impressive in one of the most defensive leagues in Europe. The problem is he's never been near to
that figure before or since (although his goals-to-games ratio has always been quite good).

It was a frenetic day at the ATA Executive Hotel in Milan on Wednesday as clubs from Italy's
top-flight desperately tried to put the finishing touches to their squads for the season ahead.
After a flurry of last minute activity, sporting directors across the peninsula can now head for
some late summer sunshine before preparing for January when the window will re-open for business.
There are two more rumours to bring to your attention this evening concerning the Brazilians Alex
and Amauri. Chelsea central defender Alex, 29, was mentioned in the summer about a move to the
Emirates, and today he has again been mentioned with a move in January. Alex has failed to impress
his current boss Andre [.
This week has seen some scary rumours emerge. First it was reported that the club had revived its
interest in Juventus striker Amauri. Then Lazio's new signing Dijbril Cisse was linked to the club
before Carlos Tevez was mentioned as Milan target. But, Adriano Galliani has brushed aside such
rumours.

It had been hoped that the rumours linking Spurs with a move for Juventus striker Amauri would
go away but there are many stories around at the moment suggesting that a January fee of £20m for
the striker has already been agreed.
Much has been made of the player's bright start to the Serie A season with his loan side Parma
but seven goals in eleven matches at the beginning of 2011-12 do not mask a disappointing career
overall.
In the last year he was one of the best player for Juventus, but the advent of Antonio Conte's
era at Juventus seems to have stopped the rising of Milos Krasic in the club.
When he arrived in Italy in the last year he was received by Juventus fans as the "New Nedved",
both for his role in the field (left wing) and for his moves which are very similar to those of
former Juventus and Lazio player.
Reports in the English media have consistently linked unsettled Juventus forward Amauri with a
move to the Barclays Premier League in January.
The player's agent has added fuel to the fire by saying that there is a '70 percent' chance of
him moving to England in January, compared to much lower odds of considering further stay in the
Serie A.

As always, here is our collection of the best transfer rumors we found.
Lukas Podolski is being linked with Arsenalas help to keep Robin van Persie around after this
season.
Eduardo Vargas' agent has added Arsenal and Liverpool to the names of clubs interestedin the
Universidad de Chile winger.
The Serie A's Golden Bin nominations have been revealed and i am quite surprised to see who made
the list. Once again Juventus dominates the list with Felipe Melo ( who i thoroughly agree should
be on the list) and Milos Krasic making the cut.
Others who made the list include Luca Toni, Amauri, Diego Milito, Diego Forlan, Mauro Zarate,
Adrian Mutu, Santiago Silva of Fiorentina and Eduardo from Genoa.
Harry Redknapp has hinted at another quiet January for Spurs fans but is this just a smokescreen
or will the dealings at White Hart Lane next month really mirror those of 2011?
In goal, there are no immediate problems but if Heurelho Gomes does leave, it may make sense to
look for a permanent replacement for Brad Friedel now, rather than later.
