Rochester is joining the party.
And, yes, if the Raging Rhinos are invited, it's definitely a party.
Kinda cool having the NASL back. Especially for the young generation that mostly missed it.

Toronto FC midfielder Amado Guevara has left the club and signed with Honduran side CD Montagua,
according to multiple reports coming out this afternoon. The 2004 MLS MVP and Golden Boot winner
apparently signed a 2-year deal with his former club as of this afternoon, with an eye on retiring
from professional football while playing in his country of birth.
I mean, in a typical Canadian way they're being nice enough about it up there and all, but what
else do you call dumping $300,000 mistake Pablo Vitti? At least they didn't have to find someone
else to take Vitti off their hands.
A lot of people are talking about how between Vitti, Lesly Fellinga, and Amado Guevara leaving,
Toronto FC has freed up around $700,000 in salary.

FIFA announced that nothing will change with the way referee's work for next summers World Cup.
Having learned of their opponents for the 2010 World Cup Group Stage just days ago, the United
States Soccer Federation is wasting no time in lining up opponents for tune-up matches over the
coming months. The latest countries to be rumored as opponents of the USMNT during the first half
of 2010: Honduras and Northern Ireland.
That's according to this report from Honduran Web site Diez.hn.
Coming to America? Honduras players pose for a photo before a World Cup qualifier soccer match
against Trinidad & Tobago in San Pedro Sula, Honduras in September. Top row from left is Jerry
Palacios, Mauricio Sabillon, Hendry Thomas, Eric Morales, Noel Valladares, Amado Guevara, and front
row from left is Ramon Nunez, Carlos Pavon, Elvis Turcios, Maynor Figueroa and Emilio
Izaguirre.
As expected, the USSF announced today that the United States Men's National Team will take on
fellow 2010 World Cup qualifiers Honduras at the Home Depot Center of January 23rd.
While the American roster for the match likely won't be known for a few more weeks, Honduras' squad
for the game has already been released, with a few familiar faces for MLS fans preparing to make
the trip.
Reports are coming out of Central America tonight that Amado Guevara is set to leave Toronto FC in
order to return to his native Honduras. Numerous reports in Latin American publications claim that
the mercurial midfielder is about to sign a two year deal to play for CD Motagua. An uncredited
quote apparently from Guevara states "
I'm excited, it's what I expected.
There are reports that TFC's midfielder Amado Guevara has signed for two years with Motagua in
Honduras.
Ben Rycroft has the details here at Metro.
I was a big fan of Guevara's skill, guts and guile. He had ball skills galore, was always willing
to drive forward with the ball in search of holes in the defense.
My posts have been a little few and far between lately since the end of the MLS season there
hasn't been much action around Toronto FC, other than the hiring of a new coach. But there are a
few tidbits of news I thought I'd share:
Goodbye Guevara Attacking midfielder Amado Guevara has left Toronto FC and
signed a 2-year contract with the Honduran club Motagua.
A day after midfielder Amado Guevara left the team and signed with CD Motagua in Honduras, two more
TFC players have been told that their services are no longer needed by head coach Preki.
Argentinean forward Pablo Vitti and Haitian midfielder Lesly Fellinga were informed that the club
has decided not to pick up their options for next season.
AMERICANS IN EUROPE
Arch Bell of Yanks Abroad does a great interview with Jay Needham who passed up MLS to play for
Alta in Norway's 2nd division. How bad does your MLS experience have to be to go play in a league
like that? He has some pretty open comments about MLS etc.

The Glasgow Herald with a story on the amazing turnaround in the season for DaMarcus Beasley.
Toronto FC is moving swiftly into the Preki era. Yesterday Amado Guevara was let loose, today Pablo
Vitti goes walking too. I guess the new coach was not impressed with the 2 goals, 1 assist in 32
appearances statistic .
Lesly Fellinga, the most obscure of TFC players has also been released.
Three midfielders off the roster and two of them had large contracts (at least in MLS 2009 terms)
must give us all a clear idea of what has crept to the top of Preki's Christmas shopping list.
A day after the news broke that Amado Guevara was about to sign with Honduran club CD Motagua, TFC
confirmed that they were indeed releasing the midfielder. Along with Guevara, two players who were
touted as rising stars of the future when they were signed, Pablo Vitti and Lesly Fellinga, were
also dispatched.
Defender Jimmy Conrad, goalkeeper Kevin Hartman and midfielder Roger Espinoza have been called to
their respective national teams for January training camps. Conrad and Hartman are two of 30
players to take part in Bob Bradley's camp beginning Jan. 4 to evaluate MLS and Scandinavia-based
USA players.
A couple quality veterans in Major League Soccer could find new homes this winter. Both Toronto
FC and FC Dallas are both putting a veteran midfielder on the trade market.
Last week it was reported that FC Dallas was shopping Dave van den Burgh, just a year after he
was traded to Dallas from New York.
2009 Recap: Another year, another missed opportunity for the Reds. Toronto was
on the cusp of making the playoffs, but they ultimately missed out by a single point. Despite
bringing in some high profile talent, the Reds just couldn't seem to field a consistent side.
