Hull City has taken Jozy Altidore on loan for the duration of the 2009-10 season, subject to a work
permit. Altidore joins up with the Tigers just weeks ahead of the opening of the Premier League
season. Should he gain a work permit, Altidore will be available for selection in Hull's opening
day game against Chelsea.

Steve Cherundolo will have hip surgery next week in Germany to fix a problem that has kept him out
of action for the last four games, his club Hannover 96 reports. Cherundolo featured in games on
Feb. 28 and March 7 for Hannover, but the problem has plauged him since early January. He will be
out for several weeks.

Jozy Altidore has completed a loan move to second division side Xerez CD, and will be unveiled on
Monday according to Xerez' website. With Villarreal's squad returning to full fitness after some
early season injuries, Altidore has found playing time hard to come by in recent weeks so hopefully
this move gets him some experience with the side that is currently leading the Spanish second tier.

According to Skysports.com, Everton "have made an approach" to Villarreal about Jozy
Altidore. Who knows if this has any truth to it, but Everton's struggles to keep strikers fit are
well documented. Nonetheless it's hard to see Villarreal wanting to let one of their youngest

Jozy Altidore got the start and went 78 minutes for Villarreal as the Yellow Submarine defeated
Recreativo Huelva 2-1. Goals from Santi Carzola and Ariel Ibagaza were the difference as Villarreal
moved back into 2nd place in La Liga with the victory. Next up for Villarreal is a match against
Getafe next weekend.
