Harry Redknapp is a free man.
Redknapp and Sheffield Wednesday owner Milan Mandaric were acquitted of tax evasion charges
after being found not guilty of avoiding to pay taxes on payments made into an offshore account in
Monaco between 2002 and 2007, when both men were at Portsmouth.
It's a bit of an unexpected grab-bag today, with plenty of newsworthy tidbits but not a whole
lot to really sink our teeth into, so we've got a few highlights to hit before getting to the video
that might normally round out a lazy Sunday here on the Liverpool Offside:
* The third round is done, the fourth round is drawn, and because it simply had to happen
it means that Liverpool will host Manchester United in the FA Cup on either January 28th or
29th.
I ordered the Chateau Pape de Neuf and you give me the Montepulciano?
The UEFA wizards ban Arsene Wenger for three matches for the offense of having a verbal
altercation with referee Damir Skomina after the Milan Champions League match. Wenger is also fined
£33,000.
Skomina was the referee who allowed Robinho's goal to stand after receiving a pass from a
clearly offside Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
What? ... No i'm not bloody offside! Meow...Liverpool fought hard
on Monday night in an attempt to take three points from Tottenham Hotspur but with no goals from
either side the highlight of the game ended up going to a little mischievous cat. The Reds played
well but just couldn't find a goal as Spurs showed some staunch defending.
On Saturday evening, Houston Dynamo goalkeeper Tyler Deric and midfielder Warren Creavalle were
arrested outside of the Roosevelt Bar on Washington Avenue in the Heights. The various reports
indicate that Deric and Creavalle as well as Will Bruin and Alex Dixon were denied entry and they
believed that the grounds for said denial were based on the bar's apparent racist policies.

In a match up that was billed by many as the must see game of the season, the Baltimore Blast and
Milwaukee Wave battled fiercely for 60 minutes in a game that lived up to it's billing. Baltimore
was able to secure a hard fought 9-4 victory over Milwaukee, and at the same validated their belief
that they are the best team in the MISL.
Guardian: Liverpool 5-1 Oldham Athletic | FA Cup third round match report
Shunning the FA Cup in protest at the eight-match ban handed to Luis Suárez was among the more
ludicrous proposals put to Liverpool by indignant supporters. Mercifully it was given short shrift
by the Anfield club and Kenny Dalglish's team as they ended another turbulent week by overcoming an
obstinate Oldham Athletic to secure their place in the fourth round.

In a story heading straight for our 'hell no' files, 27-year-old Liverpool winger and England
international, Stewart Downing, was arrested on suspicion of assault early Sunday morning following
an altercation with a supposed ex-girlfriend (rumoured to be Donna the doorstep dramatist
Moloney) at the Cross Keys pub near Middlesborough.

Arsene Wenger was left blaming the referee, Nathan Dyer's sapling legs, his own porous defence,
his own wayward attack and the poor bloke that ladles out the Bovril at the Liberty Stadium after
watching his Arsenal side have their top-four aspirations kicked squarely in the nads in South
Wales yesterday evening.
Angry Liverpool fans have targeted Manchester United defender Patrice Evra as the focal point for
their wrath as Liverpool and Manchester United clash in the FA Cup 4th Round. Evra was involved in
an altercation with Liverpool striker Luis Suarez when the two sides met in the League clash in
September with Suarez having been [.
It is a potentially critical weekend at the bottom of the Premier League table.
The games almost have a play-off theme to them – with the bottom six facing off against one
another. Blackburn Rovers host QPR, Bolton Wanderers entertain Wigan Athletic and West Brom travel
to Wolves in the Black Country derby.
Hong Kong youth side ESF Lions had a grudge to settle going into their match with rivals Kitchee
Escola, having lost the previous encounter 16-0. The bad blood wasn't helped when one of the Lions
earned himself a trip to the police station — and the starring role in a race scandal — by
delivering a fairly unsubtle kick to the head of an opponent who had suffered a bad tackle.
We're just one day away from the New England Revolution home opener against the Portland
Timbers, and there's a palpable buzz in the air if you're a soccer fan around the Hub. Meanwhile,
there's been quite a bit going on in soccer while we prepare for this momentous event, including
the kickoff of the USA's Olympic Qualifying campaign.
Two Arsenal fans have been banned from football matches for an altercation with police at the
Emirates which was prompted by the fact they were standing during the game.
It is fair to say there was more to the incident at the home game against Manchester United than
simply the fact that they wouldn't sit down and you can read a full report here.

This past weekend, football was secondary. Seeing 25 year-old Livorno midfielder Piermario
Morosini collapse on the pitch put everything in perspective once again for the football world just
weeks after Fabrice Muamba's similar heart attack on the field against Tottenham. Only on Saturday,
Morosini wasn't as lucky and died en route to the hospital.
Retroactive refereeing has now gone both ways.
The New England Revolution were successful in the first-ever appeal of a red card under the
league's new system, getting Fernando Cardenas' fine and suspension for the card he received
Saturday against Real Salt Lake rescinded.
Rajon Rondo and a cameraman got into an altercation after Tuesday night's game between the
Boston Celtics and Atlanta Hawks. Apparently Rajon Rondo didn't want to be on camera and went to
the cameraman and told him to his face. You can watch the Rajon Rondo cameraman video below to see
how it unfolded.
Man City 3-2 QPR was an eventful game to say the least. Manchester City won their first Premier
League title in almost 40 years but the game will also be remembered for the actions of a former
Man City player. Joey Barton, who left the club in 2007, has been an enigma his whole career.
There's no doubt that Barton is a talented midfielder with a terrific range of passing combined
with the work rate and determination that every captain should possess but his temperament has
never improved with age.
News is just coming in that former Newcastle player Joey Barton has been involved in another
altercation, this time in his home town of Liverpool. The news it that the Liverpudlian, who
supports Everton, was punched in the face at 5:30 am this morning outside a Liverpool night-club.
QPR midfielder Joey Barton was hit in the face outside the [.
When Joey Barton announced his commitment to pacifism, DT assumed his days of stubbing out
cigars in teammates eyes and violently attacking teenagers on the street were over. But when he
went postal on the final day of the season, it was clear he had returned to his feral ways. The QPR
midfielder — currently serving a 12-match ban due to his antics at Eastlands — was involved in
another skirmish while exiting 'gay-friendly super club' Garlands in Liverpool city centre.
