Marco Materazzi
Not only was Materazzi one of Italy's heroes through his excellent defensive displays in the
tournament, but he helped the Azzurri take home the world's most coveted prize as he was the
attention of Zinedine Zidane's head.
Rumours reached the internet early this evening of a bust-up between Newcastle team-mates Andy
Carroll and Steven Taylor. The altercation is thought to have happened at United's training ground.
It's alleged that Andy Carroll has been treated for a hand injury at the RVI hospital. The injury
is apparently due to a punch thrown at [.
Now this just caught me off guard. Why would Zlatan Ibrahimovic want to take a risk of being
broken in two? That is exactly what happened on Friday when the Swedish forward took on the
American defender (incredible hulk pictured to the left) during a practice scrimmage. I am not
sure what the altercation was about but I could certainly see Ibra provoking Onyewu.
The Newcastle Journal is reporting this morning that Steven Taylor wants to move on from the stupid
altercation with Andy Carroll which landed Steven in the Newcastle General Hospital on Sunday, with
a broken jaw. Steven Taylor - willing to move on But it also appears that Steven will now be unable
to return this season, after [.
It's a Sunday and no shortage of stories on Newcastle today, although most of them will not be true
but what's new? Steven Taylor West Ham interested There is news in the People today that West Ham
want to get Newcastle's Steven Taylor in the summer. With the altercation between Carroll and
Steven Taylor still in [.
Advantage Inter
What a compelling game just finished in the San Siro. Inter were worthy 3-1 winners on the night
and once again not only did Jose Mourinho get his tactics spot on, but his players gave their all
in the pursuit of victory. The tie is a long way from being over, it's not hard to envisage Barca
scoring twice in El Camp Nou after all, but tonight's win for the Nerazurri will leave
their outstanding captain Javier Zanetti and his team mates dreaming of a date with destiny in
Madrid on May 22nd.
Ever since there was the altercation between Andy Carroll and Steven Taylor in March there has been
various news in the papers that one or other of them will be leaving the Tyneside club this summer.
Steven Taylor - new contract at Newcastle But that's the very last thing that Newcastle want and it
turns out that [.
A student from Southend's South Essex College has been taken to hospital following an incident
outside the Luker Road campus at lunchtime (Monday).
It's thought the man received head injuries after becoming involved in an altercation.
According to the Echo, one passer-by reported seeing what he thought was blood pouring from the
man's ear.
Note : This post was written after the defeat to Fiorentina in the Champions league.
With me still lost for words over the loss at Emirates, I'd like to make a re-visit to continue my
support for the man who cares for the club the most. So some of the readers who are new to this
blog kindly have a look.

We have already exposed the whirlpools of infighting that have, especially in the past week,
engulfed the French national side in South Africa. If you haven't yet familiarised yourselves with
what did happen, this piece of news is going to astonish you. In a nutshell, though, here is what
has already happened:
- Raymond Domenech is utterly mad
- Legends like Zinedine Zidane, Just Fontaine and Bixente Lizarazu have castigated the national
team, and coach
- William Gallas is jealous that Patrice Evra got chosen as captain ahead of him
- Florent Malouda was inexplicably left out of the opening match against Uruguay, and that
didn't sit well with the players, or Malouda himself
- Sidney Govou was picked for both matches, despite not being at full form.
Alain Finkielkraut, an arch conservative refers to Les Bleus as a bunch of thugs who have the
morals of the mafia. Finkielkraut says that this generation of caillera (the street slang
incomprehensible to white French - a metonym for non-whites) makes him want to throw up. They are
destroying the fabric of France.

Remember High School? The competitive jockeying for social position, battles won and lost on
appearance and wealth rather than anything remotely intellectual?
Happy days.
Well, the LA Lakers basketball game against Minnesota Timberwolves in London on Sunday night
brought out the usual contingent of footie boys, all hoping that some of the cool exuded from this
most American of sports would rub off and increase their ‘hipness' quotient.
Andy Carroll's new car was set on fire while parked on the drive of team-mate Kevin Nolan's house,
last night, just after 7:00 pm. Andy and Kevin in better times Andy has been told to live with
Kevin Nolan for three months, after his most recent altercation in Hexham last Sunday, and he
only [...
It's been two months and Zlatan Ibrahimovic is already causing havoc at AC Milan. Today at training
the hot-tempered Swede got into an altercation with USMNT player Oguchi Onyewu. According to the
Italian media, Onyewu reacted to an aggressive tackle from Ibrahimovic which resulted in the US
player choking the on loan from Barcelona player.
Apparently Florent Malouda is facing a three-match ban for his role whatever that was in an
incident with the appalling Phil Neville early in Saturday's draw at Stamford Bridge.
Are you kidding me?
Let's go to the video review, shall we?
Wow. So Phil crashes into Malouda from the back for the second time in quick succession.
Boro striker in trouble with the Old Bill... again Former England under-21 international Leroy Lita
was handed an £80 fixed penalty notice after being arrested for being drunk and disorderly. The
Middlesbrough striker, aged 25, was taken to a police station after getting into an altercation
with uniformed officers on a night out in Newcastle.
Liverpool exec. Tom Hicks Jr. was forced to resign after sending some nasty, expletive-laden emails
to a fan.
Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho is still facing the fallout for his altercation with a
journalist.
Is it worth it?
In Hicks' case, no. For Mourinho? Probably.
We certainly hope Guti's bitey mood isn't because of his Stunted Style-Icon nomination.
During a press conference today, the Real Madrid midfielder was showing little mercy to inane
questions posed to him by journalists. One from Radio Marca in particular really got it.*
Perhaps he didn't have enough coffee, perhaps the Gucci shop shut early, perhaps his horoscope
this morning sucked eggs.

Newcastle's midfielder Kevin Nolan put in another solid performance on Saturday, and the

following Watford's injury time goal.
With all the news about the altercation between Smith and Williamson after Watford's goal in injury

caused. Captain and manager discuss stuff Of course this is the club that made world-wide news in

In D.C. United's second preseason encounter with Toronto FC, the Black-and-Red claimed a 1-0
victory in the second match of their 2010 Carolina Challenge Cup run. The first contest between the
two clubs in Bradenton, FL was an innocuous 0-0 draw, but Wednesday's match was the polar
opposite.
The game was full of hard challenges, back and forth play, and multiple bookings.
Albert Riera has been suspended and put up for sale by Liverpool after his criticism of Rafael
Benítez.
The winger was dropped from the Liverpool squad for Thursday night's Europa League game at home to

Once again Newcastle United are making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Newcastle owner Ashley

Taylor is recovering in hospital from an altercation with Andy Carroll on Sunday. And Andy Carroll

With the news this morning there may have been an altercation between Andy Carrol and Steven Taylor

In the closing stages of surging Everton's 2-0 away win at Manchester City last night, managers
Roberto Mancini and David Moyes got into a brief touchline altercation.
The pair needed to be separated by fourth official Howard Webb, but who do you think would come out
on top if the pushing and shoving had continued?
It's quite possibly last week's news, but you've got to admit, the spat and potential bust up
between Everton's David Moyes and Manchester City's Roberto Mancini was a little taste of some
quality entertainment. EPL Talk has never condoned football related violence by any means, but
the occasional scuffle between two passionate managers, in this case, one of them Scottish and the
other Italian, definitely made an intense moment into a lasting and enjoyable memory.
One of the strange things that happened back on Sunday, March 21st, was an altercation between two

It's fairly obvious that the South Africa presented to us by FIFA is not the "real South
Africa", whatever that means. Even sports journalists there, notoriously oblivious (for fair enough
reasons, much of the time) to their surroundings outside the bubble they are ferried in and out of,
were forced to notice this reality last night when a riot broke out by the media centre in
Durban.
