This just explains it all ..what it felt like in the stadium in those closing few
seconds..brilliant this fan had his camera running You can hear the crowds collective breath being
held as Giggsyboy slides the ball through to Ow7n. Just genius. Also gives you a pretty good
birdseye view of the Bellamy fan altercation.
No, you can't choke a teammate. No. doesn't sit well with your club.
Sandro Grande found that out the hard way, as he's been released from the
Montreal Impact, a week after this altercation with teammate Mauro Biello.
What's interesting is that the above photo was actually the thing that led to the suspension
and, later, the release.
In what has to be one of the more toothless punishments handed down in the history of international
soccer, FIFA has suspended US international midfielder Michael Bradley for four games in response
to improper conduct toward official Jorge Larrionda after being sent off late in the Americans'
shock 2-0 victory over Spain in last month's Confederations Cup semifinal.
The Montral Impact released the following press release last night:
MONTREAL – Following an altercation between midfielder Sandro Grande and captain
Mauro Biello during Saturday night's game in Minnesota, the Montreal Impact has announced
disciplinary sanctions against Grande for unsportmanlike conduct.
Toronto FC has completed the signing of Canadian national team striker Ali Gerba, the club
announced on Monday. Gerba joins TFC after parting ways with English club MK Dons.
Toronto acquired Gerba's rights in a deal with San Jose earlier this month that also brought
veteran defender Nick Garcia to Toronto.
Get it? See what I did there? I did a play on words, using Sandro Grande's name. The influencial
midfielder was released today by the Montreal Impact for his role in an altercation with
player-coach Mauro Biello. Grande was already suspended by the club for breaking another team rule
earlier in the season, and according to Joey Saputo, choking a teammate is unacceptable (no shit).
When I saw Newcastle United's lineup today before their 3-0 loss to Liverpool, I said aloud:
Joey Barton's going to get a red card. I only meant it to elicit a laugh from friends, but
with Newcastle's fate in the balance and Barton's famous temper in mind, I had a vision of Barton
heading for the showers a bit earlier than his co-workers.
Evidently yesterday's posting of Jermey Olson's photos of Sandro Grande grasping teammate Mauro
Biello in a choke hold created quite a stir not only in the US, but even more so in Canada where
message boards were abuzz and several large online reporting services picked up the story. Radio
Canada was one of those sources.
Reuters has this to report on the Group C Gold Cup 2009 matches...
HOUSTON, July 10 — Mexico were held to a 1-1 draw by Panama in an ill-tempered Gold Cup game
yesterday, in which three players and the Mexican coach were sent off.
Guadeloupe beat Nicaragua 2-0 in the other Group C match to move top of the pool on a maximum
six points from two games, two ahead of a disappointing Mexican side, who failed to build on Miguel
Sabah's ninth-minute goal.
Sorry for the delay, it's been a busy week!

Vancouver Whitecaps defender Wesley Charles has been released by the club. Charles was involved in
an practice altercation with teammate Jeff Parke, who accused Charles of throwing an elbow and
head-butting him. Combined with the incident with teammate Charles Gbeke last month, this was the
last straw for the organization.

Portsmouth's David Nugent and Marc Wilson were both fined two weeks' wages following a drunken
altercation in a hotel on a pre-season trip to Portugal. It is understood that the two players
squared up to each other in a corridor outside their rooms at 5am last Sunday after drinking
heavily, team-mates were forced to step in [.
Bakary Soumare is now waiting on the results of a physical before joining French Ligue 1 club
Boulogne. Soumare has not played for Chicago since a halftime altercation with coach Denis Hamlett.
Both players were fined by the club. "We would like to thank Bakary Soumare for his contributions
to this club and wish him the best in his future playing career," said Chicago Fire technical
director Frank Klopas.

What was Pat Onstad thinking? How could he lose his cool so suddenly in the most important game
in the Dynamo's season? A dangerous cross came through the penalty area, just out of his reach, and
continued over the byline. Sure, replays show Fredy Montero obstructing the goalkeeper, but not in
any way dangerously.
Warning : This could be boring
The Past few weeks have seen the worst crisis period of your wonderful career. There are times I
used to think what made you quit as a Valencia coach and join Liverpool. You had two La Liga titles
and a Uefa cup glory with a meek Valencia side.

Could this man have been a little sad about the response of the Galaxy fans?
Well, among praising AC Milan and more, Beckham gives his point of view of the fan "altercation" at
last night's game with AC Milan. Having spoke with the LA Riot Squad at halftime, they said that
Beckham had pointed at a fan holding a sign saying "Here before 23, here during 23, here after 23"
and told him to come down here as a man.
Steven Gerrard has been accused of 'totally losing it' and assaulting someone with the 'style and
speed of a boxer' during an altercation at a Southport bar last year. Should he lose the captaincy
over this situation?
Gerrard is innocent until proven guilty, but the question is should he lose the captaincy
irrespective of the outcome of his case?
Major League Soccer Commissioner Don Garber has fined Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder David Beckham
$1,000 for his part in an altercation with a fan recently. The fine amounts to 0.015% of the
superstar's annual salary, but sends a message that conduct similar to his in last Sunday's 2-2
friendly draw against AC Milan will not be tolerated by the league, no matter the player.
The David Beckham circus has continued since his return to the Galaxy this season. His recent fine
for his altercation between Beckham and an LA fan is proof of that. LA comes into KC on an
impressive win streak, as they have won 4 straight MLS games. Only one of those wins have been with
Beckham with the team.
The guy is probably as popular as the Unabomber in L.A. these days, so the choice of sunglasses
fits.
Though the news is a couple days old, I wanted to note that David Beckham did get punished for
instigated that mess with the fan at the Home Depot Center.
A whopping $1,000.
The L.
Watching the MLS Allstar pre-game, I found it amazing that the analysts, paid by MLS I assume,
are speculating about why Beckham got into the altercation with the Galaxy fan last week.
Rob Stone starts it off asking John Harkes "whats gotten into Beckham that he is showing such
thin skin?", and Harkes goes on to say that Beckham started off on a bad foot by wanting to stay at
AC Milan and shouldn't be surprised at the negative reception from some L.
One reason we were happy with the point yesterday at WBA was before the game there was even more
upset behind the scenes when Joey Barton on Friday apparently had an altercation with Argentine
pair Coloccini and Gutierrez. Joey Barton - came on after 75 minutes yesterday The furore over
Barton certainly couldn't have helped the lads yesterday [.
There were rumors before the game thaere had been an altercation between Joey Barton and our two
Argentine players, Coloccini and Guriterrez. Joey Barton no problems yesterday according to
spokeman The flare-up was said to be about the commitment of the two South Americans to the
Newcastle cause, and if we were to be honest we have that [.

These short paragraphs suffice:
A Clark County judge could face charges for an altercation last month on a soccer
field.
The Football Association (FA) have announced that Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic could
face a three match ban for his alleged altercation with Wigan centre forward Hugo Rodallega during
the Red Devils' five nil victory at the DW Stadium. The FA will review television footage of the
incident to determine if the Serbian defender did in fact slap Rodallega in the face (ostensibly in
response to a blundering tackle on United keeper Ben Foster).
It was a great experience to go to another MLS stadium last weekend, not least because we were
hosted by the Fire Supporters Club who looked after us grandly. I wanted to share a few
observations picked up over the weekend because I think they are of interest to all soccer fans.
Maybe we could even learn some things from them.
Chivas USA 2 Revolution 0
Highlights:
This was one of those it's all about the three points games because there wasn't much else to
it. And it kept Chivas USA within striking distance (with games to spare) of the top of the Western
Conference.
"Right now it's all about points, right now it's all about getting a position in the
playoffs, and every game and every point is important, and today is no different," said Chivas USA
Coach Preki.

Every once in a while, the Wayne Rooney we remember from Everton and his early days at
Manchester United reveals himself. The lad with the uncontrollable temper who would lash out at
opposing players and be a liability to the team he was playing for.

It wasn't always pretty and it wasn't without its cost, but the Aztex got the win last night over
the El Paso Patriots. They've advanced to the 3rd round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, and will
face the Houston Dynamo, here in Austin at Nelson Field, on July 1.
(Regarding that date: the date original announced for the 3rd round was June 30.

And an LA Times article on the altercation.
Poor MLS. Just as European observers were calling it a credible league they go and ruin it all
by fining their star man the equivalent of a night out in Beverly Hills.
I am not sure who thought $1,000 (£608) would be a suitable fine for David Beckham's
confronting a drunken fan last week but it has made MLS somewhat of a laughing stock among its
new-found followers, who had taken a lot of notice following GoldenBalls' wee altercation in the
first place: Beckham and the Galaxy have occupied column inches in all the British media this
week.
The Chicago Fire take on the Los Angeles Galaxy tonight at Toyota Park. No David Beckham, but LA
still does have a strong road record while the Fire don't have the best home numbers.
I'll be watching so I decided to do a running commentary. Whether you are watching, or stuck
somewhere you can't watch, please feel free to follow along here.
With J Hutcherson -- Let's just stop a second and bask in the scenario that has engulfed the
Chicago Fire. You have a player that's considered one of the best defenders in your League. Good
enough to attract overseas offers. Your coach questions his commitment in what has been described
as a halftime 'altercation' in the locker room.
Chicago needs to find its offensive attack once again
It is pretty evident that the Chicago Fire can only go up following their performance Wednesday in
a 2-0 loss to the visiting Los Angeles Galaxy. Chicago hopes to find the win column when the team
hosts the Colorado Rapids at 5 p.m. Sunday at Toyota Park (game televised on My50).
Morelia was one of the surprise teams out of the gate in the Mexican Primera División's Apertura,
but as Miguel Sabah (who had five goals in his first three matches) has cooled off, so have the
Monarchs. Sabah has not scored in league since notching two goals at Atlas on August 22.
Since then (and before last night), a previously perfect Morelia lost two consecutive games and
lost their league lead.
It turns out that Kevin Keegan had a number of run-ins with Dennis Wise, way before the volcano
finally erupted on August 30th last year. Kevin Keegan - cntunual arguments with Dennis Wise The

Wise, and they are listed below.
Still no announcement that Chris Hughton has been given the permanent manager job. Mike Ashley
second thoughts? And with the Barry Moat offer still up in the air, we'll have to wait a day or two
to see what goes on. Maybe the altercation Ashley had with the fans on Tuesday night after the
