Ah, the names that might have been....
While we wait for Philadelphia to decide on a name we look back on some attempts to name or rebrand
current MLS clubs.
Yes we all laughed at Penn Jersey Independence FC but there are other names which could have stuck
elsewhere around the league.
My second favorite signing of the season- and I'm sure Cris' favorite- was realized on Monday.
John Mensah is officially Lyon's new left-center back. After weeks of waiting for
Sebastian Squillaci's transfer to FC Sevilla to be finalized,
Mensah is Lyonnais.
Numbers are good for many things. For example, counting, measuring, and ranking Miss America
contestants are just three of number's manifold, essential uses. Without numbers, the rules by
which a society lives would have no merit. In fact, can you even imagine a world in which no
one abided by the five-second rule?
You know what happens when you take two days out of your work week to take a small vacation? You
get two times the work on your desk to hammer out when you get back. Thats what.
Here is whats happening in the world of the Bulls:
+ Details have emerged on the nature of the Macoumba Kandji transfer
package.
Take three Major League Soccer rookies, and force them to live in a house, where they stop being
polite - and start getting real!
Real Life - Secaucus - Only on Red Bulls Reader!
Pretty cool stuff actually. Danleigh Borman, Luke Sassano and David Roth show
us what the life of a rookie can be all about (and boy, am I ever happy that my modest apartment is
better than a pro players hole in the wall).
IT'S A CRUEL GAME The amazing thing about the sport of soccer remains the fact that on any given
day a team can beat virtually any other team. Other sports pay this alot of lip service, but it
just isn't true. In football time of possession and total yards inevitably lead to victories. The
same is true of basketball and baseball where looking at shot percentage and strikeouts you can
tell who
Hi all of The Orange Card faithful, I'm going to assist w/ the posting on this illustrious site. I
figured I'd give you a little insight on who I am. I'm a die hard Liverpool and Revolution fan.
I've played footy all my life.. and I live for the beautiful game. The creator of the site and I
have won many footy championships together.
Sylvain Wiltord, of Arsenal and Lyon fame,
has been linked to a move stateside - in particular, New York. But was there enough time to get a
deal done with the transfer deadline?
For those who don't know, Wiltord is a speedy, diminutive forward/winger, who made his name in
Arsenal.
The match started boring nothing really happening, Semih got the first shot in the game and the
keeper hung onto the ball very well. Armenia managed a long range shot and Volkan stretched alot.
Turkey proceeded to attack but were unsucessful in hitting the target, Mevlut nearly opened the
scoreline
There was alot of activity here this weekend, so why dont we just dive in while this guys suffers a
major case of the Mundays: - Major changes at the Galaxy blog! A bunch of writers have invaded -
And all talented too! If only all blogs could be given such a blessing. [...]
One of my least favorite subjects- aside from ethnic cleansing, and life threatning diseases- is
Lyon's resident brat, Frederico Chaves Guedes Fred. Fred recently gave an
interview in French on OL's website. Since they didn't offer an English translation- and
annoyingly, OL doesn't offers translations for alot of their articles- I thought I'd share a
verbatim of the interview.
