Like, SERIOUSLY, Kickettes! C'MON ON. We love this fabulously fierce WAG to pieces, but
she's really thundering and lightning on our already-drenched fantasy-night-alone-with-Xabi parade
here.
In an interview taken yesterday, Xabi Alonso has said that he misses his time with Liverpool. Don't
know why would he make such a statement right now and to be honest, the media is making a meal out
of it but then again, what else do they do. It is well known fact that players [...]

player is growing constantly frustrated in Barcelona as he is primarily relegated to substitute
appearances.

Who do you think was the better though?

This was a great win. In my two years covering the team, it was easily the most entertaining and
satisfying regular season game I have ever attended. But Dave has already gone over the emotional
parts. This feature is meant to be more of a second-day, calmer look.
The highlights tell a wonderful story and show how great of a game Troy Perkins needed to have
just to keep it close.
The Association of Spanish Footballers (AFE) has revealed that La Liga players will strike for
the first two weekends of the season.
Players want a wage guarantee fund for when clubs become insolvent, an all-too frequent problem
in Spain, with Levante and Hercules struggling to pay staff members in recent years and Real
Zaragoza applying for administration this summer, which is a common occurrence particularly in the
Segunda Division.
Seattle Setup: It was clear that Seattle's goal was to control the possession and that they
felt that by doing that they would be able to score a few goals. They created a plethora of
chances, but unfortunately for them their finishing was lacking and they were unable to find the
back of the net.
Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani insists that his future is finally about to get sorted
out, as he is closing in on a move to Italian champions AC Milan.
Aquilani, who enjoyed an impressive spell on loan to Juventus last season, did not return to
Turin when negotiations over a permanent transfer broke down.
The last ounce of truth to this can easily be eradicated. All Mourinho has to do is
watch Glen Johnson against Blackburn...defensively he was woeful.
Going forward the England International is threat, his delivery is decent and he has a good eye
for goal he has scored an impressive 3 goals per season, for the past two seasons.
Seattle Sounders FC Head Coach Sigi Schmid on how players and team grow during the off-season:
"I think you saw glimpses of it last year, but it grows. I always view it as really the amount of
work that's put in during the offseason. When guys are really buying in, when they're really
committed, then they're very conscientious in their offseason and come in prepared to play.

I think I would have preferred if we lost this match.
Not only because it would have been fairer on our opponents, but because a win conceals the fact
that we had a pretty crap match against an inferior rival.
Real Madrid are set to reach their first Champions League semi-final for eight years after
thrashing ten-man Tottenham Hotspur 4-0.
Spurred on by a spectacular pre-match introduction, Madrid started strongly with Ronaldo firing
wide before Di María forced a corner off Vedran Ćorluka.

Last Saturday, the match featured four seperate formational/tactical systems. As noted there was
the lopsided 4-diamond-2, the traditional 4-diamond-2 and the concave 4-3-3. In the final moments
we also saw a fairly typical pull the forward for a CB move to upgrade the defense. Seattle
Sounders FC Coach Sigi Schmid is in fact trying new things, doing it in games that matter, and he's
earning points while trying to learn the best way forward for the team until the Summer Transfer
Window opens.
In 2009, the US pulled an historic upset, beating Spain, the best team in the world, in a
semi-final of the Confederations Cup. Though I saw the result first-hand, what kept coming to my
mind was the inimitable Vizzini from Princess Bride saying "Inconceivable!"
In advance of the next meeting of these two teams, scheduled for this Saturday, the line that
instead comes to me is when Fezzik showed up at Miracle Max's door and said, "I'm on the Brute
Squad.
In a somewhat eye opening interview featured on GOAL, Chelsea's assistant, Michael Emenalo has
revealed all sorts of things to how he was appointed and to why certain players struggled this
season. One key point I want to pick up on now is his response when he was asked why Fernando
Torres is still struggling at Chelsea?
The game opened hearing that we would see a free roaming Fredy Montero who could do what he
wanted. It wound up with Seattle playing a 4-2-3-1 with the middle of that 3 band being free to
pester Toronto FC from unique angles. For the first 10 or 15 minutes it looked like Seattle was
going to be the only challenger in this one with Mike Fucito hitting the far post in minute 2.
Seattle's Setup: Seattle set up in their usual 4-4-2. Scott got the start at left center
back, only his second career start at center back and had an up and down match. Carrasco played in
the center of midfield mostly in front of the heat-seeking missile Ossie Alonso, who played in his
usual holding midfield spot.
Goals by Riccardo Montolivo and a late Alberto Aquilani strike saw Italy beat Spain 2-1 during the
midweek spate of matches. Xabi Alonso had temporarily levelled for the European and World champions
at the Stadio Comunale San Nicola in Bari. However, it was Liverpool forgotten man Alberto Aquilani
who hit the winner six minutes from [.

I visit my neighborhood Whole Foods almost every day. And when I stand at the store's overly
complex recycling labyrinth, straining to make the most Earth friendly decisions on its flummoxing
array of choices, it really is one of the hardest things I do every day.
Then again, I don't have to vote on Major League Soccer's MVP and other awards every day.
Well, I've got to admit that I wasn't expecting England to beat Spain – earlier on today my
brother in law sent me a text saying ‘Xabi Alonso 132 passes, Scott Parker 37 passes' which made
me laugh but before I replied with ‘Frank Lampard 1, Spain 0' I decided to be a bit more
magnanimous.
The Spanish press seemed to think we'd turned into the Italians (if that's the case, it's taken
Fab nearly four years to complete his mission) which considering the Italian record over the last
four decades isn't the worst thing that could happen.
For the fifth year running. Not for those with weak stomachs.

I guess it's not all bad news.
I think I'll let the visuals do the talking. A highly entertaining game, with former
Real graduate Daniel Pajero taking the plaudits for his performance for
Getafe...
The deadly duo of Cristiano Ronaldo and Mesut Oezil was ever present again for Madrid. Ronaldo,
put Los Blanco ahead before Ozil doubled the lead eary on in the game.
A Cristiano Ronaldo goal was all that Real Madrid needed to beat city rivals Atletico 1-0 to
reach the Spanish Cup semi-finals 4-1 on aggregate. Real, who have not won the competition since
1993, will place holders Sevilla in the last four while Barcelona, who saw off Real Betis 6-3 on
aggregate, despite losing the second leg of their quarter-final 3-1 on Wednesday, will meet
Almeria.
The more I see of Raul Meireles, the more I like.
He is a player used to playing at a slower tempo in Portugal and who is having to come to grips
with the hustle of the Premier League.
But he is quickly figuring it out and is getting better for us by the week.
Most encouragingly, he has just added a couple of important, not to say spectacular, goals to his
game.
