It has been ten weeks since Manuel Almunia got a "knock" on his elbow during the 3-2 defeat by West
Brom back in September, and it seems that he is still no nearer recovery despite playing 45 minutes
in a reserve game two weeks ago. This is looking like an obvious bit of "economy with the [...]
Morning all and it's back to league action with a home game against Fulham and normally there
wouldn't be such trepidation. Obviously all games are taken seriously but given our form at the
Grove this season there's probably a little more fear in the air than there would usually be.
Arsene has been trying to play down the issue of our home form saying it's all down to how you
play, whether at home or away.
Despite Arsene Wenger's proclamation that Arsenal will not be buying anyone this January (unless
there are injuries) there are still the usual amount of Arsenal rumours in the papers. One that
won't surprise anyone is the news from the Daily Mirror that Manuel Almunia will be allowed to
leave in January for a measly £1.
The agent of Manuel Almunia has confirmed that the Spanish goalkeeper is now ready to move on and
amidst rumours that he is in negotiations with a team from Qatar Joseba Diaz reveals that Almunia's
personal preference is to finish his career back in Spain. Diaz said in todays Guardian: "We have
still not finished [.
Arsenal go into Monday's clash with title-rivals, Manchester United, knowing that a win would
see them almost certainly top the table at Christmas.
Wenger and his side have been heavily criticised this year for some lacklustre performances, but
they're still managing to contend with the big boys every single week and currently sit top of the
Premier League.
That's the unconfirmed rumor.
And I do stress that this is an unconfirmed rumor. The club has not said anything official about
this. Here's the evidence we have.
The Sun's Charlie Wyett has reported that Flaps picked up a "leg" injury in training, and that,
given Almunia's "arm" injury (apparently we have caveman doctors, unable to pinpoint any injury
beyond merely identifying the offending appendage), that puts Szczesny in line for a shock
start.
The game against Man Utd at Old Trafford on Monday told us a couple of things about Arsene Wenger's
future plans. His decision to totally exclude Manuel Almunia from the squad, despite the injury to
Lukasz Fabianski, would seem to indicate that the Spaniard has had his last chance at Arsenal, and
the Danish striker [.
The young Pole Wociech Szczesny performed admirably on his Premiership debut against Man Utd, and
it looks like he is certain to keep his place for Stoke's visit to the Emirates on Saturday. Lukasz
Fabianski still has a problem with his hip, while Almunia has suddenly twisted his ankle amid
rumours that he is going to [.

Christmas is coming up, and more importantly the January transfer window approaches! After Arsene
Wenger's pronouncement that Arsenal will not be buying anyone in January most of the rumours appear
to be about players leaving the Emirates instead! Emmanuel Eboue seems to be linked with a move to
Italy every year, and the Daily Mail reports [.
Arsene Wenger has admitted that he MAY buy someone this January after all, which will only lead to
an increase of Arsenal transfer rumours but still makes it unlikely that he will be putting his
hand in his pocket! For the record Wenger said: "If needed I will sign new players in January. But
people want [.

Arsene Wenger has made it perfectly clear that he will not be buying and more centre-backs as cover
for Thomas Vermaelen, but now the Arsenal manager has revealed that a very cautious estimate of the
Belgian's return is another four weeks. "He is short on fitness and we have to build it up," Wenger
revealed.
