Many Arsenal fans were left frustrated after last Saturday's penalty kick awarded to Manchester
United as they believe Wayne Rooney dived.
On the issue, the player said:
I think everyone who watches me play knows I am an honest player who tries to be as honest as
they can.
Jens Lehmann was dropped by Stuttgart after attending Oktoberfest, hours after his team's defeat
against Cologne (2-0) in Bundesliga. Plus, Arsenal's former goalkeeper gifted his rivals the 2nd
goal by losing the ball outside the area. As we can see up there in the picture, Jens is smiling
(something suspicious in itself) next to his wife [.
It is strange to believe that Arsenal have already played 5 games this season. After contemplating
over and over, I decided to do a 'player of the month' post. So making its way for the first time
this season, its Arsenal HERO and VILLAIN of the month.
HERO: Thomas Vermalen
The first contender for this honour was skipper fantastic Fabregas, but he missed the game at Old
Trafford.
Last week I was away for four days and the timing for my trip was spot on as of course the
Arsenal were not in action because of World Cup Qualifiers and friendlies. But, I can't say I
didn't miss anything as there was plenty going on and below I will try to provide my thoughts on
all the news on our beloved Arsenal.
Well, that wasn't very much fun. I haven't found a good "highlights" video yet, but will post it
when I do.
I guess my thought is this let's not overreact. Yes, this is a bad result for us. Yes, I thought
the match was pretty evenly matched, so to come out of it with 0 points. Yes, it sucks to watch
Adebayor stomp a player in the face, get away with it, then score a goal and celebrate in front of
Arsenal's fans (stay classy, Ade.
Somewhere in amongst the furore that surrounded Emmanuel Adebayor's Saturday afternoon, a
football match took place.
I know it's difficult to spot and you may have to search through a pile of seething Arsenal
supporters and endless reams of video evidence to find it but I assure you, it
did take place.
If you didn't like that pun I apologize. I thought it was pretty good. Then again, puns tend to
annoy a lot of people. Why? I don't know. It's not like it is the lowest form of humour. That would
be sarcasm. "Yeah, right!" (said Samuel Johnson)
Anyway, the title is in reference to tomorrow's Champions League opener game against Liege.
Having taken a few weeks off to study Arsenal‘s play, I am now back to discuss the latest game
and clarify the recent fear that is tingling inside you.
Following the last two trips to Manchester, I have noticed that many of you have commented on
Arsenal's failure but on the contrary; both games showed that we were very unfortunate.
Its hectic at TGB HQ this week so its another late update.
Tonight the Champions League group stages kick off with our first game away at Standard Liege
and it looks like we may be kicking off with a weakened side. Robin van Persie is missing, as is
Almunia, Nasri, Walcott and Denilson not making the trip.
Morning, it's Wigan on the menu today and a home game which seems like a bit of a novelty this
season so far.
Only Robin van Persie is back from injury. Andrei Arshavin hasn't made it, neither has Almunia,
Theo Walcott has had a setback apparently, and the others we know about already. The importance of
this game should be in no doubt.
1. 4-2 flattered Manchester City. Statistics showed we had nearly twice as many attempts
on goal. We had 12 corners to City's 3. And we shaded possession as well.
2. However, City were clinical at a time when Arsenal were at their creative best, but
defensively most fragile.
Manchester City 4-2 Arsenal
Bit late in the day to add my tupp'orth about yesterday's match couldn't get anywhere near the
pooter till now. Obviously, it's mostly about Adebayor, which is wrong, but there you go.
I only saw the stamp on Match of the Day last night.
Hello all. It's been a bloody month since I last posted, and I'm quite ashamed of it actually.
Sometimes, when you write every day, you just get burnt out and feel like what you write isn't that
interesting anymore and just don't really get in the mood to write very much. That's what happened
to me, and I feel like I'm not doing my job as an Arsenal blogger when I go that long without
writing.
Obviously in the wake of UEFA's ridiculous decision to suddenly clamp down on diving, ironically
the season after the greatest prima donna of them all has upped and moved to Spain, it would be an
easy option to write an article on it. However, I have a slightly different complaint, and it
doesn't regard Eduardo's penalty against Celtic, but rather Rooney's in the United-Arsenal tie.
1-0 M.Almunia (Autogol) 20'1-1 R.van Persie 62'2-1 C.Bellamy 74'3-1 E.Adebayor 80'4-1

Tologolese striker puts in a master performance to prove a point to his former
employees.
Emmanuel Adebayor inspired his new team to victory over Arsenal to keep their 100% start to the
season.
The Manchester City striker scored past his former club, and celebrated wildly as he maintained
his personal record of one goal in every game so far this season.
Gameweek 5 offered great matches and many, many goals. So no lessons for goalkeeping or defending
but a huge frenzy for scorers from defenders, midfielders and forwards. There has been 36 goals
scored in 10 games. That's almost 4 goals per match! Let's see how the matches turned out the way
they did.

Eduardo scored the winner in Arsenal's victory.
Arsenal were under the gun early as Belgian side Standard Liege jumped to a 2-0 lead after only
five minutes. It was a nightmare start for young Italian keeper Vito Mannone. Not that the goals
were his fault but two goals conceded in five minutes is a horrible start for any keeper.

Welcome to another instalment of Thank Gooner it's Friday... where FTK gives his assessment of
news and views that have impacted on Planet Gooner. This week appears less provocative than usual,
but I'm sure that my ability to create controversy where none exists will change that. The week
started with a 4 nil thrashing of Wigan with the prospect of extending our goal difference even
more tomorrow with our trip to Fulham.
Morning, hope your weekend was a good one. An Arsenal win always helps. A birthday also helps.
Helps you lie around all day Sunday going 'Bleurgh' after too much Havana Club the night before,
but I'm not complaining.
Mostly because today is Monday. Tomorrow night sees the second Champions League group stage game
with a home tie against Olymiacos.
Arsenal visited Fulham on Saturday at a floodlit Craven Cottage near the Thames. It was a thrilling
evenly balanced match, as both sides had their chances, but in the end the Gunners made full use of
their chances, as a Robin van Persie strike sealed a win against the Cottagers. This win takes
Arsenal up to 5th in the table, behind 4 teams who have all played one match more than them.
