Thanks to Scotland's relationship with the demon drink the extra curricular activities that
attached themselves to the legend of Walter Smith's first time at Rangers are now looked back on
with a certain fondness by some:Ah, the drinking. What a laugh. Team bonding. The results proved
that it worked.
United States and Rangers midfielder Maurice Edu might not be able to go for Saturday's Scottish
Cup final. Edu is recovering from a leg injury suffered in Rangers' last league game of the season
against Dundee United on Sunday. "We've got one or two injury problems - Pedro (Mendes) has a knock

George Burley's future as Scotland manager may be hanging in the balance but Ally McCoist
believes the national team's problems date back much further than the current regime.

the most fruitful of terms in charge, but give him some credit, he was better than Berti Vogts.
Anyone wondering why Richard Gough's managerial career has stalled somewhat can sleep easy. He's
not carved a career in the noughties because he subscribes to a brand of football that became
outdated in the 1970's.In my time at Ibrox we had a core of very strong characters. Mentally, we
were very strong and I think that's why we had so many bust-ups.
