Real Madrid have lodged an official complaint with Uefa after six pairs of boots were stolen from
their dressing room before last night's Champions League semi-final match against Bayern Munich.
Three pairs of boots belonging to Cristiano Ronaldo were nicked, along with footwear belonging to
Karim Benzema and Mesut Ozil.

Last night, Cristiano Ronaldo's poor performance vs. Bayern Munich was blamed on thieves who
stole three pairs of his boots from the dressing room at the Allianz Arena prior to kick-off.
TweetChelsea fans have come out in force to celebrate the club's UEFA Champions League triumph over
Bayern Munich on Saturday. Roberto Di Matteo's men lifted their first ever European Cup after a 4-3
penalty shootout victory over Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena to banish memories of 2008 as they
became the first London club [.
Netherlands stars Wesley Sneijder and Mark Van Bommel have hit out at Bayern fans for jeering

Marwijk will understand if the winger now chooses to walk out on the club despite recently signing

The last time Everton faced off against Liverpool in the Merseyside Derby, Liverpool came out
victorious despite Tim Howard's valiant effort in goal.
The Toffees will be hoping for more of the same from Howard as they attempt to exact revenge

Trailing 1-0 from the first-leg, Bayern Munich racked up the biggest victory the Champions
League knock-out phase has ever witnessed by sticking seven unanswered goals past FC Basel in the
Allianz Arena last night to blunderbuss their way through to the quarter-final stage (that's 14
goals scored in the last two games for Bayern, having pounded TSG 1899 Hoffenheim 7-1 in the
Bundesliga last Saturday).
On the day Steven Gerrard scored a hat-trick to demolish Everton, Mario Gomez went a step
further and scored four times within a 23-minute period to lead Bayern's 7-0 rout of FC Basel at
Allianz Arena.
Despite his stellar finishing last night, the dominant striker is in no mood to celebrate just
yet, suggesting that the Bavarians have a lot more to accomplish over the next two months.
APOEL Nicosia v. Real Madrid Preview: the perfect Champions League quarterfinal for both sides -
originally posted on Soccerlens.com
Coming into this season, Real Madrid were considered one of the top favorites to lift the UEFA
Champions League trophy, and over the last several months, they've done nothing to change that
status.
German side Bayern Munich continued to impress in the UEFA Champions League has they defeated
French side Marseille 4-0 on aggregate (both legs were 2-0 wins).
Bayern, who are going a bit under the radar, could arguably be the strongest side to take out
Real Madrid and/or Barcelona.

odds to beat Real Madrid and Barcelona.

It's power vs. power as Bayern Munich takes on Real Madrid in the first leg of their UEFA
Champions League semifinal matchup (2:45 p.m., Fox Soccer Channel).
For Bayern Munich, maintaining their blistering home form is crucial if they want to entertain
thoughts of returning to Allianz Arena for next month's final and become the first team to play for
a European cup title at its home stadium since Roma did in 1983.
Prior to the first leg of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid's Champions League semifinal in
Munich, a mystery thief stole six pairs of boots from Real's dressing room. Three pairs belonged to
Cristiano Ronaldo alone, while the others belonged to Mesut Ozil and Karim Benzema. Real Madrid
went on to lose the match 2-1 and Ronaldo failed to score.
Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes has congratulated his entire team for delivering on his
instructions during the club's famous 2-1 win at home to Real Madrid last night, with particular
praise reserved for the goal scorers Franck Ribery and Mario Gomez.
Ribery opened the scoring for the hosts in the 17th minute at the Allianz Arena and although the
Bundesliga outfit continued to attack confidently following the Frenchman's strike, they were
pegged back shortly after the interval.
Didier Drogba, the King of Chelsea?
Chelsea 1 - 0 Barcelona - Although the hosts played defensively, a rapid
counter-attack finished by their iconic leading man, Didier Drogba, has lit the path to the Allianz
Arena for the Champions League final.
Barcelona traveled to Stamford Bridge, a ground which has entertained exhilarating Champions
League football in recent years between the two teams.
Lionel Messi's 51st minute penalty miss v Chelsea costs Barcelona a place in this seasons
Champions League Final in Munich's Allianz Arena next month.
Cristiano Ronaldo is full of confident ahead of Real Madrid's Champions League clash against
Bayern Munich at Santiato Bernebau, but warned his teammates that they must keep a close eye on the
German's attacking players if Los Blancos wants to advance.
Ronaldo acknowledged that the Bundesliga outfit possessed a very strong attacking players, which
could easily decide the outcome of the match, just like what happened in the first meeting.
The final is set. The Germans, doing what they do in penalty shootouts, secured their place
alongside our lads in club football's centerpiece fixture on May 19.
Cold-blooded
I trust you were watching that match. If not, what's wrong with you? It was pulsating at times,
cagey at others, but overall, it was nerve-wracking.
Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho has offered his backing to former club Chelsea as they prepare to
visit Bayern in a massive Champions League final at Munich's Allianz Arena next month.
Bayern rode their destiny all the way home in a 3-3 aggregate draw that ended up with the German
side beating Mourinho's men 3-1 in the decisive penalty shoot-out last night.

Bayern Munich v Chelsea the road to the Champions League final - originally posted on

An unlikely Champions League final of Bayern Munich vs Chelsea is set to be played at the
Allianz Arena on May 19th, as the sides have both proved their worth to overcome underdogs tags to
make the final.
Chelsea interim manager Roberto DiMatteo is excited about facing Bayern Munich in the UEFA
Champions League final next month but has warned that the German giants can prove to be trickier
opponents than Spanish champions-elect Real Madrid due to their home advantage.
The Madrid side was considered a heavy favorite to meet holders Barcelona in an El Clasico final
on May 19 but Bayern and DiMatteo's men flipped the script on the La Liga sides, booking a surprise
final date of their own.
Let's take a moment to reflect on the MADNESS from the football world
in the past week.
Ronaldo and Messi proved they were human beings after both
missed their penalties, Sergio Ramos joined NASA, Bilbao made it
to the finals of the Europa League for the first time in 35 years, Fernando Torres
scored possibly the most important goal of his Chelsea career, Pep
Guardiola confirmed his resignation as Barca coach, The Allianz Arena
turned bright blue, Mario Gomez wore a flower 'garland' and for once in
Jose Mourinho's life, he conceded defeat without outrightly blaming the
referee.
TweetBorussia Dortmund smashed Bayern Munich 5-2 to win the DFB Pokal (German Cup) in an
extraordinary match in Berlin. The result of course gives much food for thought for Chelsea with
Roberto Di Matteo's men set to face the Germans in the Champions League final at the Allianz Arena
on 19, May.
Are we really less than 24 hours from contesting a second UEFA Champions League final? It really
is hard to fathom. Tomorrow, we seek atonement not just for our loss to Manchester United in 2008
but for all the cruelty that has beset us in this competition over the past eight years. It is
time, my friends, for the last act of a legendary generation.
This is it. Chelsea play Bayern Munich at Bayern's home stadium -- the Allianz Arena -- in the
2012 Champions League final. Both sides are looking to make up for recent failures in this match.
Chelsea lost the rain-soaked 2008 final to Manchester United after captain John Terry slipped and
missed what should have been the winning shot in an excruciating penalty shootout, while Bayern
lost the 2010 final to Jose Mourinho's treble-winning Inter.
It's nearly time. The goosebumps, yeah they've arrived.
Take it.
You may be wondering what's with today's photo selection? I know, I'm usually pulling out
film-based artifacts (screencaps and the like) but today is an entirely different animal. This is
the UEFA Champions League final for Christ's sake.
TweetChelsea beat Bayern Munich 4-3 on penalties to lift their first ever Champions League crown in
a dramatic night at the Allianz Arena. Didier Drogba was the hero as he headed home an equaliser
two minutes from time before sweeping home the deciding penalty during a tense shootout. After

On Saturday night, a chap by the name of Robin Cooper made it onto BBC Five Live's 606 phone-in
and claimed that he had in his possession the Champions League Final matchball after smuggling out
of the Allianz Arena after the game and that he was going to get it home through German customs by
labelling it as 'seismology equipment' a yarn that had host Alan Green appearing to believe every
word.
Just three days after Arjen Robben missed a penalty kick that might have won the Champions
League final for Bayern Munich, his club hosted his national team -- the Netherlands -- for a
friendly in the same stadium that housed his nightmare. And though some of the 33,000 fans in
attendance at the Allianz Arena were forgiving, others booed Robben's every touch of the ball after
he entered the match as a second half substitute for the Netherlands, who lost 3-2.
Didier Drogba had initially kept matters serious when asked about Bayern Munich manager Jupp
Heynckes' accusations of him as a player who 'acts' too much on the pitch. However, the departing
Chelsea striker has now comically turned the tables such that the joke is on Heynckes.
It was widely assumed across the English media that Heynckes' comments ahead of the UEFA
Champions League final between the two sides were intended to derail Drogba's focus.
Two goals from Patrick Herrmann and another from highly rated forward Marco Reus guided Borussia
Monchengladbach to a 3-1 win over Bayern Munich, cutting the Bavarians' lead atop the Bundesliga
table to a single point.
Bastian Schweinsteiger struck late in the match for Bayern, but that was too little too late for
the visitors, who could be joined at the summit by defending champions Borussia Dortmund over the
weekend.
Carlos Tevez will not be transferring to Paris Saint Germain. The French club from the capital
Paris are now owned by a Qatari investment fund and have money aplenty. It was widely expected that
they would be able to put together a financial package that would have been sufficient to entice
the Argentine striker to come and join their mission to make PSG one of the leading players in
European football.
Liverpool face off against Manchester City on Wednesday evening in the second leg of the Carling
Cup semi final. Liverpool lead the affair 1-0 but with at least 90 minutes still to play the tie is
obviously very delicately poised. The second leg will take place at Anfield and with the home crowd
roaring them on Liverpool will consider themselves favourite and the more likely of the two teams
to succeed.
Adidas have unveiled the Champions League Finale Munich 12 ball design for the final set to be held
in Munich, at the Allianz Arena.
The German Bundesliga this Saturday saw the table open up amongst the top four after Borussia
Mochengladbach thrashed Schalke 3-0 at Borussia-Park Saturday to keep them in the running for the
title while giving a huge dent to Schalke's title hopes.
Leaders Dortmund were 1-0 winners over Leverkusen to maintain their 2 point lead over Bayern
Munich who were also winners after they beat Kaiserslauten 2-0 at the Allianz Arena.
