ESPN's broadcast of Euro 2008 was the best production ever of a soccer tournament for TV viewers in
the United States. While it wasn't perfect, it was clearly evident that ESPN had listened to the
past criticism and corrected the annoying habits that had previously distanced diehard soccer fans
from its network.
Allen Hopkins on Big Kenny, the chances of having several forwards pas the 20 goal mark this season
and...something else. I forget now. Got distracted by the news that Milkshake Films --where Allen
is involved in business development-- is finally going to get around to releasing Goal 2 in the US
for real this time.
Nothing like moving from the field to the booth. Now this looks like a guest-gig for Claudio Reyna
but hopefully it works out for him and we won't have to listen to people like Allen Hopkins or
people like that. Also, we get Adrian Healey and Shep Messing tomorrow night on ESPN2...yippie.

I think I would really love the chance to "kick it" with Allen Hopkins. He seems like an
amiable & educated fellow like myself. I'd like to imagine that he and I could sit around a table
over high-ball drinks and discuss the intricacies of MLS transfer guidelines, how Robin "Sweet
Dick Willy" Harris died before his time, why Jeff Cunningham should have never left Ohio and
our favorite social movements of the 60's & 70's.
Allen Hopkins points out two things in this clip that really do make you think "WTF?".
The first is how is LA not scoring of Becks corners? Is it that he's serving up weak-sauce, his
teammates not knowing what to do with ass this good or have the league's other teams actually found
a way to stop Goldenballs?
