I suppose this post is unavoidable. When 70,000 people show up and a significant number can see the
game on a widely available national TV outlet, a drubbing like the MLS All-Stars took last night at
the hands of Manchester United is bound to be a talking point. It certainly was during the game.
Major League Soccer continues to grow as a league, and it's continued development of the
standard of play has received rave reviews from Manchester United - and specifically from Sir Alex
Ferguson and Ryan Giggs.
United's tour of North America could end on a high note in Houston tonight (Wednesday)
when the Reds take on MLS All-Stars at the Reliant Stadium.
There's nothing unfortunate about Tess Taylor... In life, and usually in sports, it helps to be
really, really, really ridiculously good looking. We all know the usually suspects: Tom Brady,
David Beckham, Tony Parker, and Derek Jeter – just to name a few. These men have all made their
mark by being all-stars and legends in their respective sports while also dating and marrying some
of the world's finest broads.
A little while back, in a late night ramble that may or may not have been ill-advised, I went off
on those who reacted negatively to the possibility that MLS would't "allow" Landon Donovan to go
back to Europe. I rejected the idea of valid indignation on the subject, and I talked at length
about what we didn't know about Donovan's own wishes and the role that played in my response.

Manchester United is coming back to the United States this summer in what could be an
unforgettable tour for American (and Canadian) soccer fans.
The Sports Business Journal is reporting that Manchester United is working on a summer tour of
North American that would include visits to Boston, Philadelphia, Toronto and Houston for the 2010
MLS All-Star Game.
Having reported on United's earlier stop in Philadelphia last week to mixed results, I feel the
need to continue my so called ‘following' of the club as they continue their trek across America
before ending it in Mexico.
Don't call this a match report or match analysis, outside circumstances kept me from devoting
the time and attention needed to thoroughly dissect United's or Kansas City's performance, I wasn't
able to view the match in it's entirety.

All we want for X-Mas is a good match.
A report is out that the "Red Devils" will play the MLS All-Stars this year for the traditional
"let's try to prove we're as good as European Soccer instead of just proving American Soccer is
good too" game.
Major League Soccer announced the starting XI for the 2010 All-Star team, and US National team
members Landon Donovan and Edson Buddle will lead the MLS All-Stars.
The MLS All-Stars face Manchester United on July 28th at Houston's Reliant Stadium.
The First XI was determined by vote, with fans holding 25% of the total.
With Chivas USA defender Jonathan Bornstein out with an injury, San Jose Earthquakes midfielder
Bobby Convey has been named to the MLS All-Stars. Convey becomes the first Earthquake to make the
squad since the team rejoined the League in 2008. He made two All-Star teams as a member of DC
United in 2001 and 2004.

For the second version of the Women's Professional Soccer League All-Star Game, the league will be
changing locations, time, and format. Atlanta is the host, the game is mid-season rather than after
the championship, and the format is what WPS is calling "playground pick-em." The league will

English Premier League giants Manchester United have announced their plans for a tour of the
United States this summer. The Red Devils will be showcasing against the Major League All Stars for
this year's All Star match, and the Premiership side will also play friendlies in Philadelphia and
Kansas City.
The U.S. Men's National Team will play host to Brazil at the New Meadowlands Stadium in East
Rutherford, N.J., next month, the U.S. Soccer Federation announced late last week. The game, to be
played on August 10th, will come less than one month after the conclusion of the 2010 FIFA World
Cup and will mark the third meeting in 14 months between the two sides.
Nike Sportswear kicked off futsal on the rooftop on May 27 at the Montalbán in Hollywood.
Footballers across 12 teams from all over LA took part in a night of non-stop action on the rooftop
and represented their teams to the fullest. With DJ Kev E. Kev spinning all night, the squads wowed
the crowd with amazing displays of footwork on the pitch.
The High School basketball All-Star game was played Saturday. The teams are split between City
schools and Area schools. There were three Southwest Soccer All-Stars who also played in the
basketball event.
Chris Aiken, Greenwood Blue Jays, played for the City team which won 97-95 after three OT's.
