En el juego de estrelas de la MLS se pudieron ver dos que tres celebridades, Rachel Adams actriz de Hollywood al parecer le gusta el soccer.

It seems one of the things that may have prompted MLS to consider major changes to the schedule might have been the words of ex-LA Galaxy boss, Ruud Gullit. In this interview with Britain's Daily Mail he give MLS some constructive criticism that many readers here likely agree with.

Former LA Galaxy coach Ruud Gullit says there's a lot that needs to change in MLS.

Chelsea's Under-16 showcase, The Cobham Cup, kicked off today. And Marko Mitrovic stole the show.

In his Chelsea debut, the highly-touted Swede signed by Chelsea last December found himself on the scoresheet less than a minute into the Blues' tournament opener with River Plate. Mitrovic drove home a penalty, which he had won by latching onto an errant loose ball just 10 seconds into the game.

The Olympics only comes around once every 4 years - so I figured I could take some time to think about the Olympics for a little bit. I had a hard time finding a full Olympic schedule - so here ya go: 2008 Beijing Olympics Soccer Schedule.

So a camping trip this weekend kept me away from everything happening, but I was able to watch the All-Star game on Thursday night before leaving for the camping trip.

I got asked this question this morning. Why is David Beckham playing for the MLS All-Stars against West Ham tonight? Well.... my answer started, "Because he plays for LA Galaxy in the MLS."
What else could I to say?
Yep Beckham is due to play against West Ham.

It looks like Beckham and LA Galaxy are headed back to the Australia and New Zealand this winter according to this report from Australia's Live News.

David Beckham is set to return to Australian shores in December this year, with news negotiations for a matchup between the Queensland Roar and Beckham's LA Galaxy outfit are almost complete.

According to ex-Galaxy coach and internationally known Ruud Gullit, Major League Soccer is about as good as those minor leagues in Europe.
He's say the standard is "higher than people think". So that's good.

'I'd liken it more to the leagues in Holland, Belgium and Norway.

Ah, late July. The Euros are over. The Olympics haven't started. Europe is embroiled in goofy transfer crises. Liverpool is busy stacking its reserve team with Swiss defenders and French teenagers. All the big clubs are off playing Guangzhou or someone. West Ham is playing the MLS All-Stars while the Inter-City Firm takes the measure of the Columbus casuals.

With reports circulating about transfer deals being completed for both FC Dallas midfielder Juan Toja and forward Kenny Cooper, but MLS All-Stars denied that deals were done while a team source told SBI that multiple teams have made strong inquiries about Cooper.

Beckham and Blanco pulled the strings of Steve Nichol's MLS All Stars, leading them to an entertaining 3-2 victory over West Ham. The score flattered the tired looking Irons, for whom only Aston and Boa Morte seemed up to scratch.
De Rosario Gives MLS All-Stars Victory at BMO

America's Major League Soccer All Star XI defeated West Ham United 3-2 in a preseason friendly. Dean Ashton was the standout performer of the match as he notched both of West Ham's goals. Carlton Cole partnered Ashton up top and was largely ineffective throughout the match, stressing the need for a healthy Craig Bellamy.

Here's a cute little game found by the all stars over at The Offside.

Dean Ashton scored first for the West Ham. Gomez neutralised that advantage even as the goal celebrations were going on. Blanco gave the All-Stars the lead a minute before half-time and West Ham levelled through a deflected shot from Ashton' The All-Stars took the game when De Rosario converted a penalty into a goal that careened in off the cross bar.

David Beckham and his LA Galaxy will return to New Zealand in December for an exhibition match against an Oceania All Stars team captained by New Caledonian and French player Christian Karembeu, former Real Madrid player and better known for having married to Slovak model Adriana Sklenaříková.

TORONTO -- Since joining the Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer during last season, David Beckham has missed two chances to play at BMO Field.

Okay, so beating West Ham -- a team that barely finished in the top half of the Premiership table -- isn't as exciting as, say, Chelsea or Celtic.
But it's still good to see.
Overall the whole day appeared to be a success. A lot of exciting action and goals with the stars in the forefront.

I have to admit that this was the first MLS All Star Game that I have ever watched. After finally getting back into MLS after 8 or so years I was really excited about seeing everyone play. Even though none of my DC United players made the squad (I have to admit that only Emilio was qualified to play) I knew it was going to be a great game.

Tonight Jimmy Conrad and the rest of the MLS all stars take on West Ham United in this years All Star game. Conrad is the Wizards lone representative on Steve Nicol's team. Being one of only 5 defenders, and with Michael Parkhurst likely not playing due to his Olympic commitments, chances seem high that Conrad will not only play, but likely play the full 90 against the Hammers tonight at BMO Field.

Hmm, Hillcrest predicts a 3-1 MLS win with goals from Gomez, Cooper, Beckham and Faubert. We get a 3 (nice)-2 MLS win (nice) with goals from Gomez (nice), Blanco and De Rosario for the All-Stars. Ashton scored twice for West Ham. Three correct predictions on the match? Not bad. Correctly predicting the most important aspect (the winner), even better.

Alright ladies and gentlefellow, the mid-season time is here. You know that means, time to prove to the world our best players are pretty darn good. This year's opponent is West Ham United, an English Premier League club from East London. It happens to be brother Hillcrest's favorite team, so he's a little torn tonight.

Not a lot to say other than: that's why we love Christian here in Colorado. The other good news is that Stevie seemed to know a bit better than the voters and started Christian AND Pablo. So the midfield started with Beckham, Gomez, Mastroeni, and Joseph. That gives any club in the world a run for its money.

Hammers boss Alan Curbishley fears his players could burn-out during a gruelling pre-season schedule. The Irons beat Peterborough United in a friendly at London Road last night, just three days after returning from a nine-day tour of North America, which included games against Colombus Crew and the MLS All-Stars.

This weekend was certainly packed with really exciting games and I am here to offer my thoughts on the ones that I watched.
The Blackburn/Everton game was certainly the most exciting of the weekend in my opinion. Blackburn looked very strong in the first half and Everton was lucky not to have given up more than one goal.
