Well I thought I was going to take the rest of the afternoon off but this little story is too
good not to pass up here. Myself and many others have talked all year about D.C. United's young
academy standout and All-Star snub Andy Najar. It seems like all that talk along with his stellar
play on the field could help land him a big contract in the future.
Will he stay or will he go? That question is following Landon Donovan around wherever he
goes.
Donovan, who signed a new contract with MLS last year, told Reuters at Wednesday night's
All-Star game that he is considering offers from overseas. The 28-year-old has attracted interest
during what has arguably been the most successful year of his professional career.

For the second version of the Women's Professional Soccer League All-Star Game, the league will be
changing locations, time, and format. Atlanta is the host, the game is mid-season rather than after

1 Major League Soccer may have improved a great deal, but the first 20 minutes displayed
by their All-Star team definitely didn't demonstrate that fact. However, the All-Stars
settled and, despite allowing 5 goals, played well (especially for a team that was hastily thrown
together).

Around all the All-Star events there is something now missing for Major League Soccer's summer
showcase, a Futures Game.
Think about it, even with the league being as young as it is and the team's academies being even
younger the time is now to start showcasing those kids at least once a year outside of the SUM
Cup.

Houston Dynamo midfielder Geoff Cameron is set to miss the remainder of the 2010 MLS season after
rupturing his right PCL in Saturday's 2-0 loss to the Chicago Fire, the team announced on
Monday.
"We are very disappointed to lose an All-Star caliber player, and we feel especially bad for Geoff
and the timing of this injury," said Dynamo COO Chris Canetti.
The German captain, a recipient of a nasty tackle on his right ankle by Kevin Prince Boateng
during the FA Cup final over the weekendwill not be participating in the World Cup. MRI scans
showed partially torn ankle ligaments which require strict immobilization for the next four weeks.
He will be given a CAM boot to wear for the next four weeks to progress to the next level in his
rehabilitation.

The more news I read about the current collective bargaining agreement discussions between the

The President's Cup All-Star roster will include players from the Wave Reserves, who won the

CONOR CASEY has signed a new three-year contract, keeping the Denver-raised All-Star and United
States national team forward in Colorado. Per club and league policies, financial terms of the
transaction were not disclosed.
Two major trophy winners from 2009 face off in an early test for 2010. Salt Lake was the first
of the expansion sides to win the MLS Cup, and Seattle was the first to take the US Open Cup. Both
are following a similar path in how to be good, but not just going through typical for MLS roster
churn, but instead focusing on keeping a strong and large core of talent with just a few tweaks
between seasons.
Out for the season
Houston got more bad injury news on Monday as Geoff Cameron was ruled out for the season after
suffering a ruptured right PCL in Saturday's game against Chicago.
The 24-year-old Cameron moved to midfield this season after a stellar season in the defense in
2009.

Fire vs Wizards
The July 24 date against the Kansas City Wizards has been rescheduled to Tuesday, October 12.
The match against KC is being moved to accomodate the Wizards friendly against Manchester United on
July 25. Manchester United will also hold a training day at Toyota Park during their upcoming US
tour.

Bill Buckner was an all-star first baseman for five Major League Baseball teams including the LA
Dodgers and the Boston Red Sox. He was the National League Batting Champion in 1981 and achieved
