Cheryl Cole was spotted heading to Copenhagen today wearing a sequined Alice & Olivia top and
paying tribute to recently-deceased designer Alexander McQueen by toting his Flapper Satchel bag.
(Yes, it's large enough to double as a second home for her potentially-displaced pups.)
Described as "a fabulous look," this behemoth bag features a variety of pockets so that
"everything has its place".
On this brisk night in April and in front a home crowd, the FC Gold Pride found the back of the net
three times in a huge win over reigning Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) Champions, Sky Blue FC.
Whether it was due to the Pride's owner, Nancy NeSmith's pre-game and accurate 3-1 prediction,
forward Christine Sinclair's new purple with pink-striped shoes, or as coach, Albertin Montoya put
it, the team "put[ing] on a show for their fans," the packed stands (3,757) at Castro Valley High
School in Hayward, California, were treated to quality soccer.
The top of the ranks for Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) league remained unchanged with the FC
Gold Pride's 1-1 tie tonight in the game against the Washington Freedom. The big news of the week,
of course, was the acquisition of Shannon Boxx (formerly of the Saint Louis Athletica) on Thursday
by the Pride.
ChristopherCornblog steered me toward this ...wonderful!

I love the part about waking up in the middle of the night ... "OMG, I have a paper due and I
haven't done ANY of the reading!
PETALING JAYA: The FA of Malaysia (FAM) have relieved the duties of three Harimau Muda senior squad
(Under-21) coaches, headed by Mohd Azraai Khor Abdullah after their return from a three-month
playing stint of Slovakia early this month. The FAM general secretary, Datuk Azzuddin Ahmad, said
that Azraai, assistant coach Azman Eusoff and goalkeeper trainer P.
The FC Gold Pride suffered their third loss of the season tonight against NJ Sky Blue. Playing in
triple-digit weather seemed to have a different and opposite effect on each team, with the Pride
limping into the game with heavy legs and only beginning to heat up too late into the second half
while Sky Blue consistently sizzled with offensive aplomb and a composed and cool defense.
Just as JBD would have predicted, Tina Charles is having a knock-em-dead season. Notching her
sixth double-double in a row this past Tuesday, Charles now has 12 of 'em in her first 15 games.
This little tidbit comes from Swish Appeal ... a new find for yours truly and what looks to be a
great site for keeping up with WNBA and Women's College Hoops news!
Sorry, there, Rays' fans ... I see that Carl C is coming to Beantown and will apparently be in
the area for a looonnnggg time, contributing to the local economy.
Are the Rays gonna contend in 2011?
Are the Sox gonna have enough heft to move the Yankees aside?
Stay tuned ... and while you wait, catch the UNH Wildcats vs the Blue Hens at 8PM Friday
night.
More bad news on the WPS front, as the Red Stars have announced that they are suspending
operations for 2011 ... and hoping to rejoin the fray in 2012. Obviously, this is not good, as it
whittles down the teams currently competing to six. However, on a brighter side, the league
continues!
Does it make me nervous to hear about this?
